Toenail Polish Drying Footwear Device
A toenail polish drying footwear device is provided. The device is comprised of a piece of footwear comprised of a toe separator assembly integrally formed with or attached to the body of the device, at least one heel strap for foot stabilization, and a sole designed for traction and durability. The toe separator assembly comprises a plurality of flexible toe-separating members extending vertically from the top surface of the body and dimensioned to fit comfortably between a user's toes. In some embodiments, the toe separator assembly further comprises a skin-safe adhesive applied at the base of the separator or an angled toe wedge support that elevates the toes to prevent polish contact with external surfaces.

FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates generally to the field of personal grooming. More specifically, the present invention relates to a piece of footwear comprised of a toe separator assembly integrally formed with or attached to the body of the device. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
BACKGROUNDPainting toenails at home requires users to wait for their nails to dry before they can comfortably wear shoes. This waiting period consumes valuable time during which users could otherwise perform other tasks. Attempting to wear shoes before the polish is dry often results in smearing, leading to unsatisfactory aesthetic results. Smudged polish may necessitate repainting, further extending the time investment and causing user frustration. In certain cases, contact with footwear can completely ruin the polish application, thereby wasting both product and effort. Traditional toe separators used during pedicures are not designed for mobility and therefore do not address the need for activity immediately following polish application. Flip-flop footwear provides minimal separation and no structural support to prevent smudging. Consequently, there is a significant need for a device that allows freedom of movement while maintaining polish integrity without prolonging the drying process.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that prevents smearing of freshly applied toenail polish while allowing immediate mobility. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that accommodates various foot sizes and maintains toe separation comfortably during daily activities. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that secures the foot effectively while promoting polish protection and enhancing user comfort.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a toenail polish drying footwear device. The device is comprised of a piece of footwear comprised of a toe separator assembly integrally formed with or attached to the body of the device, at least one heel strap for foot stabilization, and a sole designed for traction and durability. The toe separator assembly comprises a plurality of flexible toe-separating members extending vertically from the top surface of the body and dimensioned to fit comfortably between a user's toes. In some embodiments, the toe separator assembly further comprises a skin-safe adhesive applied at the base of the separator or an angled toe wedge support that elevates the toes to prevent polish contact with external surfaces. The body surface may be textured with dimples, grooves, or raised nodules to enhance air circulation and prevent foot slippage. The heel strap may be adjustable or elastic, configured to fit various foot sizes and provide stability, while the sole may feature a non-slip grip element and optional shock-absorbing or arch support features for ergonomic benefit. A method of use comprises positioning the foot between the separator members, securing adhesive surfaces if present, adjusting the heel strap, and engaging in normal activities without risking smudging of the toenail polish.
In this manner, the toenail polish drying footwear device of the present invention accomplishes all the foregoing objectives and provides a means for users to remain mobile immediately after toenail polish application while preventing smearing. The flexible toe separators ensure proper toe alignment and separation, addressing the need for accommodating different foot sizes and maintaining polish integrity. The heel strap and adhesive options offer enhanced foot stabilization within the device, thereby facilitating user mobility without compromising polish protection. The breathable, textured footbed and durable, non-slip sole ensure comfort and safety during indoor and outdoor activities. Thus, the toenail polish drying footwear device effectively resolves the inconvenience, time loss, and aesthetic issues associated with traditional toenail drying methods.
SUMMARYThe following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a toenail polish drying footwear device. The device provides flip-flop style footwear designed to prevent smearing of toenail polish shortly after application and to facilitate user mobility for tasks such as household chores and pet walking. The device is comprised of a body, a toe separator assembly, at least one heel strap, and a sole. The body is comprised of cushioning polymers selected for flexibility, durability, shock absorption, and user comfort, and features a top surface interfacing with the underside of the foot.
The top surface may be textured with patterns such as dimples, grooves, or raised nodules to provide a massaging effect, enhance air circulation, and reduce slippage. The texture may form geometric patterns to optimize comfort and breathability.
The toe separator assembly is integrally formed with or attached to the body and may be comprised of the same or different flexible materials. The toe separator assembly includes toe-separating members that extend vertically from the top surface and conform to various toe shapes to prevent polish smudging. The toe-separating members may be cylindrical, semi-cylindrical, hourglass-shaped, or tapered to promote comfort and stability. A medical-grade, skin-safe adhesive may be applied at the base of the toe separator assembly, protected by a removable cover for hygiene.
An angled toe wedge support may optionally elevate the toes between 1 degree and 179 degrees to maintain a toe-up orientation, with adhesive applied to secure the toes. Alternatively, the toes may remain in a neutral separated position without elevation.
At least one heel strap is attached to the body for securing the foot and may be comprised of stretchable, elastic, or adjustable materials. The device is also comprised of a sole that may be comprised of the same or different materials as the body and may feature a non-slip grip element comprised of textured rubber, thermoplastic inserts, or high-friction coatings to enhance ground adhesion. Additional features such as shock-absorbing layers or arch support may be included.
A method of use comprises positioning the foot onto the top surface with toes between the separators, adhering the toes if adhesive is present, adjusting the heel strap for stability, and allowing the user to perform daily activities while maintaining toe separation to prevent polish smudging.
Accordingly, the toenail polish drying footwear device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides a means for users to remain mobile immediately after toenail polish application while preventing smearing. The flexible toe separators ensure proper toe alignment and separation, addressing the need for accommodating different foot sizes and maintaining polish integrity. As noted above, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that prevents smearing of freshly applied toenail polish while allowing immediate mobility. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that accommodates various foot sizes and maintains toe separation comfortably during daily activities. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a toenail polish drying footwear device that secures the foot effectively while promoting polish protection and enhancing user comfort.
The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is comprised of a toenail polish drying footwear device. The device provides flip-flop style footwear configured to prevent smearing of toenail polish shortly after application while enabling user mobility for activities such as household chores and pet walking. The device comprises a body, a toe separator assembly, at least one heel strap, and a sole. The body is formed from cushioning polymers selected for flexibility, durability, shock absorption, and user comfort, and features a top surface that interfaces with the underside of the user's foot.
The top surface may incorporate a textured pattern, including dimples, grooves, or raised nodules, to deliver a massaging effect, promote air circulation, and minimize slippage. Geometric arrangements of the texture may further enhance comfort and breathability.
The toe separator assembly, either integrally formed with or attached to the body, may be comprised of the same material or different flexible materials. A plurality of toe-separating members extend vertically from the top surface and are shaped to conform to various toe configurations to prevent smudging of polish. These members may be cylindrical, semi-cylindrical, hourglass-shaped, or tapered to optimize comfort and stability. A medical-grade, skin-safe adhesive may be applied at the base of the toe separator assembly and protected by a removable cover to ensure hygiene prior to use.
An angled toe wedge support may optionally elevate the toes between 1 degree and 179 degrees relative to the top surface, with adhesive securing the toes in an elevated position. In alternative embodiments, the toes may remain neutrally separated without elevation.
At least one heel strap is secured to the rear portion of the body to stabilize the foot and may be comprised of stretchable, elastic, or adjustable materials. The sole, formed of the same or different materials as the body, may incorporate a non-slip grip element comprising textured rubber, thermoplastic inserts, or high-friction coatings to improve ground adhesion. Optional features such as shock-absorbing layers and arch supports may be included to further enhance comfort.
The method of use includes positioning the foot onto the top surface with toes placed between the separators, removing the adhesive cover if present and adhering the toes, adjusting the heel strap for fit, and engaging in daily activities while maintaining proper toe separation to prevent polish smudging.
Therefore, the device provides an advantageous solution by enabling mobility immediately after toenail polish application while preventing smearing. The flexible toe separators maintain proper toe alignment for various foot sizes, preserving polish integrity. The combination of heel strap and adhesive offers enhanced stabilization, supporting active movement without compromising polish protection. More specifically, the device 100 may be comprised of a body 102, a toe separator assembly 104, at least one heel strap 112, and a sole 114. The body 102 may be comprised of materials such as, but not limited to, lightweight ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, thermoplastic rubber (TPR), polyurethane (PU), expanded polyethylene (EPE), other similar cushioning polymers, and any combination thereof. These materials may be selected based on characteristics including flexibility, durability, shock absorption, and user comfort. The body 102 may further feature a top surface 103, which may interface with the underside of the user's foot.
In one embodiment, the top surface 103 of the body 102 may be provided with a texture 105. The texture 105 may be comprised of patterns such as, but not limited to, dimples, grooves, micro-perforations, raised nodules, ridges, etc., or any combination thereof. The texture 105 may serve multiple functions including delivering a gentle massaging effect to the sole of the user's foot, promoting air circulation beneath the foot to assist in moisture control, and reducing slippage of the foot within the device 100. In one embodiment, the texture 105 may be arranged in a repeating geometric pattern such as, but not limited to, hexagonal arrays, linear rows, or concentric circles, to optimize both comfort and breathability.
The toe separator assembly 104 may be integrally formed with or attached to the body 102. In one embodiment, the toe separator assembly 104 may be comprised of the same material as the body 102. In an alternative embodiment, the toe separator assembly 104 may be comprised of materials such as, but not limited to, silicone gel, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), soft rubber compounds, etc., or any combination thereof.
The toe separator assembly 104 may be comprised of a plurality of toe-separating members 106. The toe-separating members 106 may extend vertically from the top surface 103 of the body 102 and may be dimensioned to fit comfortably between a user's toes, as seen in
In one embodiment, the toe-separating members 106 may be cylindrical or semi-cylindrical in shape with rounded ends 107 to minimize pressure on the toes. In another embodiment, the toe-separating members 106 may be comprised of a contoured hourglass shape, featuring a narrower middle section to conform more naturally to the webbing between toes while maintaining separation at the base and upper sections. In some embodiments, the members 106 may be tapered, being wider at the base and gradually narrowing towards the top, allowing for easy insertion between toes and enhanced stability.

In an alternative embodiment, the toe separator assembly 104 may not include the angled toe wedge support 122. In such embodiments, the user's toes may remain in a neutral position, with separation maintained solely by the toe-separating members 106, allowing for greater flexibility in foot movement while still preventing smudging.
The device 100 may further comprise at least one heel strap 112. The heel strap 112 may be attached to the rear portion of the body 102 and may assist in securing the foot within the device 100. The heel strap 112 may be comprised of materials such as, but not limited to, stretchable neoprene, elastic bands, or hook and loop fasteners. In some embodiments, the heel strap 112 may be adjustable to accommodate various foot sizes and provide additional stability during movement.
In various embodiments, the heel strap 112 may be presented in different styles. In one embodiment, the heel strap 112 may be formed as a single elastic band, which may stretch over the heel for quick and easy fitting. In another embodiment, the heel strap 112 may be an adjustable strap that wraps around the heel. In an additional embodiment, the heel strap 112 may be comprised of a crisscross strap configuration, forming an X-shape across the back of the heel, providing enhanced security and a stylish appearance, with flexible or padded materials incorporated for comfort.
The sole 114 of the device 100 may be comprised of the same or different materials as the body 102. The sole 114 may be designed to provide traction and durability for indoor and outdoor surfaces. In one embodiment, the sole 114 may be comprised of a non-slip grip element 116. The non-slip grip element 116 may be comprised of textured rubber patterns, thermoplastic inserts, high-friction coatings, or any combination thereof that enhance ground adhesion and prevent slipping.

1. A toenail polish drying footwear device comprising:
- a footwear body comprised of a top surface; and
- a toe separator assembly disposed on the top surface of the body, the toe separator assembly comprising a plurality of toe-separating members extending vertically from the top surface.
2. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 1, wherein the top surface is comprised of a texture.
3. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 1, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of a tapered shape.
4. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 1, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of an hourglass shape.
5. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 1, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of a cylindrical shape.
6. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 1, wherein the footwear body is comprised of a sole.
7. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 6, wherein the sole is comprised of a non-slip grip element.
8. A toenail polish drying footwear device comprising:
- a footwear body comprised of a top surface and a heel strap;
- a toe separator assembly disposed on the top surface of the body, the toe separator assembly comprising a plurality of toe-separating members extending vertically from the top surface;
- an adhesive; and
- an angled toe wedge support configured to elevate toes at an angle greater than 1 degree relative to the top surface.
9. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the adhesive is comprised of a skin-safe adhesive.
10. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the adhesive is comprised of a peel-off protective cover.
11. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the top surface is comprised of a texture.
12. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of a tapered shape.
13. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of an hourglass shape.
14. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the toe-separating members are comprised of a cylindrical shape.
15. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the footwear body is comprised of a sole.
16. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 15, wherein the sole is comprised of a non-slip grip element.
17. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the heel strap is comprised of an elastic band.
18. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the heel strap is comprised of an adjustable strap.
19. The toenail polish drying footwear device of claim 8, wherein the heel strap is comprised of a crisscross strap.
20. A method of using a toenail polish drying footwear device, the method comprising the following steps:
- providing a toenail polish drying footwear device comprised of a body, a toe separator assembly, a heel strap, and a sole;
- placing a foot onto a top surface of the body such that a toe is positioned between a first toe-separating member and a second toe-separating member of the toe separator assembly;
- positioning the toe atop an upper surface of an angled toe wedge support and securing the toe in place with the adhesive;
- placing the heel strap over a heel of the foot to provide support and stability; and
- engaging in mobility while the toe separator assembly maintains separation of the toe from a second toe and prevents smudging of a toenail polish on the toe.
