This application is a U.S. National Phase of PCT Application PCT/EP2023/084464, filed Dec. 6, 2023, which claims priority to German Patent Application No. 202022106853.4, filed Dec. 7, 2022, the disclosures of which are hereby incorporated in their entirety by reference herein.
TECHNICAL FIELDThe disclose relates to a sheet pile arrangement for a sheet pile wall. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to a sheet pile wall section for a sheet pile wall. In addition, the disclosure relates to a use of such a sheet pile arrangement and/or such a sheet pile wall section.
BACKGROUNDSheet piles and sheet pile walls made of sheet piles are generally known from the state of the art, for example from DE 20 2016 101 909 U1.
SUMMARYOne problem with sheet piles and sheet pile walls is that the sheet piles and other elements required for a sheet pile wall often have to be transported over long distances to the installation site. This usually requires a lot of space for transportation, which means that transporting the materials needed for the sheet pile wall can be logistically complex and can result in high costs.
A further problem with known sheet piles and known sheet pile walls is that even slight deviations in the positioning of the elements of the sheet pile wall from a target position or slight deviations in the dimensions of the elements required for the sheet pile wall from the target dimensions can be problematic during installation on site, as in such cases a high level of labor is regularly required and additional material is needed.
Another problem with known sheet piles and known sheet pile walls is that when installing a sheet pile wall on site, adjustments that would be necessary or desirable due to the specific conditions on site, for example an adjustment of the dimensions of the elements used for the sheet pile wall, are not possible or only possible with great effort.
This disclosure discloses an improved solution that addresses the aforementioned problems and provide a solution that enables more flexibility and variation in the installation of sheet pile walls, while also facilitating the transportation of the elements required for the sheet pile wall.
According to a first aspect, a sheet pile arrangement for a sheet pile wall is provided, wherein the sheet pile arrangement comprises a first sheet pile that has a longitudinal extension running parallel to a driving direction, wherein the first sheet pile extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension and parallel to a sheet pile wall extension direction from a first connecting section of the first sheet pile along a central section of the first sheet pile to a second connecting section of the first sheet pile, a connecting element, which is connected to the central section of the first sheet pile, in particular in a material-locking manner, and extends along the central section of the first sheet pile in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension, wherein the connecting element has a connecting section of the connecting element, and a reinforcing structure comprising a reinforcing element which extends parallel to the longitudinal extension, wherein the reinforcing element extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension and orthogonal to the sheet pile wall extension direction from a first end with a first connecting section of the reinforcing element along a central section of the reinforcing element to a second end with a second connecting section of the reinforcing element, wherein the first connecting section of the reinforcing element is connected to the connecting section of the connecting element, preferably in a form-fitting manner.
A driving direction is the direction in which a sheet pile wall, and thus also the components extending along a sheet pile wall, is driven into the ground, such as by driving the sheet pile wall into the ground. The driving direction is usually perpendicular to the ground surface. The driving direction is therefore usually vertical in the installation state. However, there are also driving directions that run parallel to the horizon, for example when sheet pile walls or sheet pile arrangements for sheet pile walls are driven into mountains or hills, or to support a tunnel. The driving direction corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the sheet pile wall.
In the context of the present disclosure, a longitudinal extension or a longitudinal extension direction of a sheet pile or a connecting element or a sheet pile arrangement is understood to mean the extension of the respective object in the driving direction or parallel to the driving direction.
A sheet pile wall extension direction is understood to mean a direction in which the sheet pile wall or a section of the sheet pile wall extends transversely to the longitudinal extension. The sheet pile wall extension direction therefore extends orthogonal to the driving direction.
In the context of the present disclosure, it is preferred (but not required) if the cross-section of the first sheet pile, the cross-section of the connecting element and the cross-section of the reinforcing structure are each substantially constant along the longitudinal extension or longitudinal extension direction. In particular, it is preferred if all elements of the sheet pile arrangement have a cross-section which is substantially constant along the longitudinal extension or longitudinal extension direction.
The first sheet pile, the connecting element, and the reinforcing structure may comprise or consist of steel. For example, all elements of the sheet pile arrangement may comprise or consist of steel.
The first sheet pile can form a section of a sheet pile wall.
The reinforcing structure is used in particular to mechanically reinforce the sheet pile arrangement.
The first connecting section of the reinforcing element may be welded to the connecting section of the connecting element. A sealant may be introduced into the connection, which makes it possible to provide a watertight connection.
The first connecting section of the reinforcing element may be arranged in the connecting section of the connecting element or the connecting section of the connecting element is arranged in the first connecting section of the reinforcing element.
A first advantage with such a sheet pile arrangement is an entire sheet pile wall can be constructed using only sheet piles, connecting elements and, if necessary, plates. These elements can be assembled or joined together on site. This results in increased flexibility when installing a sheet pile wall.
A further advantage is the elements of the sheet pile arrangement can be used flexibly and deviations from target positions and deviations from target dimensions of the elements of a sheet pile wall to be installed can be compensated for by means of the connecting sections.
A further advantage is the space required for transporting the elements of the sheet pile arrangement, in particular the space required for transporting the elements of the reinforcing structure, is relatively small, as these elements can generally be stacked better than, for example, double T-beams or O-beams.
According to a one embodiment, the reinforcing element is formed as a second sheet pile or plate-shaped. A design of the reinforcing element as a second sheet pile has the advantage that only sheet piles and connecting elements are used to construct the sheet pile arrangement. Designing the reinforcing element as a plate has the advantage that the length of the plate can be chosen as required and the production of plates is simple and cost-effective.
The reinforcing structure may comprise a third sheet pile which extends parallel to the longitudinal extension at a distance from the first sheet pile, wherein the third sheet pile extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension parallel to the sheet pile wall extension direction from a first connecting section of the third sheet pile along a central section of the third sheet pile to a second connecting section of the third sheet pile.
In some embodiments, the third sheet pile is aligned parallel to the first sheet pile. In particular, the third sheet pile extends parallel to the first sheet pile. The first sheet pile and the third sheet pile preferably have the same length in the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The first sheet pile, the second sheet pile and the third sheet pile, together with the connecting elements provided for connecting the sheet piles, may form a double T-beam.
In one or more embodiments, the sheet pile arrangement comprises a further connecting element, which is connected to the central section of the third sheet pile, in particular in a material-locking manner, and extends along the central section of the third sheet pile in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension, wherein the further connecting element has a connecting section.
The connecting element arranged on the first sheet pile can also be referred to as the first connecting element to distinguish it from the other connecting element.
The additional connecting element is welded to the central section of the third sheet pile.
The second connecting section of the reinforcing element may be connected, e.g., in a form-fitting manner, to the connecting section of the further connecting element, wherein the connection between the second connecting section of the reinforcing element and the connecting section of the further connecting element may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
A ball-and-socket type connection is understood to be a connection for connecting the reinforcing element to the connecting section of a connecting element or for connecting a sheet pile to a sheet pile or for connecting a sheet pile to a connecting element or for connecting a connecting element to a sheet pile. Such connections are known as “ball-and-socket” connections. Such “ball-and-socket” connections are characterized by a claw (“socket”) as the female connecting profile is brought into engagement with a head (“ball”) as the male connecting profile in order to connect two sheet piles or a sheet pile with a connecting element.
The connection between the first connecting section of the reinforcing element and the connecting section of the connecting element is a ball-and-socket type connection.
The reinforcing structure may comprise a fourth sheet pile that extends parallel to the longitudinal extension, wherein the fourth sheet pile extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension orthogonal to the sheet pile wall extension direction from a first connecting section of the fourth sheet pile along a central section of the fourth sheet pile to a second connecting section of the fourth sheet pile.
The reinforcing structure can also have further sheet piles and/or additional elements. The reinforcing structure can comprise several interconnected sheet piles that are aligned in one plane. This is a particularly advantageous way of varying the extent of the reinforcing element orthogonal to the sheet pile wall extension direction by using a different number of sheet piles for this purpose. In this way, the extension of the reinforcing element orthogonal to the sheet pile wall extension direction can be flexibly adapted to the requirements on site.
The first connecting section of the fourth sheet pile may be connected to the second connecting section of the reinforcing element, e.g., in a form-fitting manner, wherein the connection between the second connecting section of the reinforcing element and the first connecting section of the fourth sheet pile may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
Furthermore, the second connecting section of the fourth sheet pile may be connected to the connecting section of the further connecting element, e.g., in a form-fitting manner, wherein the connection between the second connecting section of the fourth sheet pile and the connecting section of the further connecting element preferably may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
The connecting section of the connecting element may have a female connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension, wherein the reinforcing element is formed plate-shaped and the first connecting section of the reinforcing element is in the form of a plate end section, wherein this plate end section is arranged in the connecting section of the connecting element.
Such a plate-shaped reinforcing element is to be understood as a reinforcing element with a substantially rectangular, and in particular elongated, cross-section. A plate end section means in particular the section of the plate-shaped reinforcing element that extends parallel to the longitudinal extension in the area of the plate edge.
A sealing means and/or a grouting means may be arranged in the connecting section of the connecting element, so that a fluid-tight connection is provided between the plate end section and the connecting section of the connecting element.
The first sheet pile and the connecting element and the reinforcing structure may form a cross-section of a double T-beam transverse to the longitudinal extension. In this way, a double T-beam can be assembled from individual elements in a particularly advantageous way, without the need to transport and erect a one-piece double T-beam.
It The sheet pile arrangement may include of a plurality of sheet piles and a plurality of connecting elements.
The central section of the first sheet pile is straight transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. Such a straight design means, for example, that the first sheet pile is not curved and/or extends along its entire width parallel to the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The central section of the reinforcing element may be straight transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. Such a straight design means that the reinforcing element is not curved and/or extends along its entire width orthogonally to the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The central section of the third sheet pile may be straight transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. Such a straight design means that the third sheet pile is not curved and/or extends along its entire width parallel to the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The central section of the fourth sheet pile may be straight transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. Such a straight design means that the fourth sheet pile is not curved and/or extends along its entire width orthogonally to the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The central section of the first sheet pile may be substantially U-shaped transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. A substantially U-shaped design is to be understood in particular as a U-sheet pile.
The central section of the third sheet pile may be substantially U-shaped transversely to the direction of the longitudinal extension. A substantially U-shaped design is to be understood as a U-sheet pile.
The first sheet pile may be formed as a U-shaped sheet pile and the third sheet pile may be formed as a U-shaped sheet pile. The U-shaped sheet piles may be arranged so that the ends of these sheet piles point towards each other.
The connection between the first connecting section of the reinforcing element and the connecting section of the connecting element may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
Furthermore, of the first connecting section of the reinforcing element and the connecting section of the connecting element, one of these connecting sections has a female connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension and the other of these connecting sections has a male connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension.
For example, the first connecting section of the reinforcing element can have a male connecting profile and the connecting section of the connecting element can have a female connecting profile, or the first connecting section of the reinforcing element can have a female connecting profile and the connecting section of the connecting element can have a male connecting profile.
The connecting profile has a substantially constant cross-section along its length.
The connection between the second connecting section of the reinforcing element and the connecting section of the further connecting element may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
Furthermore, the connection between the second connecting section of the reinforcing element and the first connecting section of the fourth sheet pile may be a ball-and-socket type connection.
The first connecting section of the first sheet pile is connected, e.g., in a form-fitting manner, to a first connecting section of a further sheet pile, wherein the connection between the first connecting section of the first sheet pile and the first connecting section of the further sheet pile may be a ball-and-socket type connection, wherein the further sheet pile may be a Z-shaped sheet pile.
A Z-shaped sheet pile is to be understood as a sheet pile that has two end sections arranged parallel to each other and parallel to the sheet pile wall extension direction and a central section between these end sections arranged at an angle to these end sections and at an angle to the sheet pile wall extension direction.
The second connecting section of the first sheet pile may be connected, e.g., in a form-fitting manner, to a first connecting section of a further sheet pile, wherein the connection between the second connecting section of the first sheet pile and the first connecting section of the further sheet pile may be a ball-and-socket type connection, wherein the further sheet pile may be a Z-shaped sheet pile.
According to a further aspect, one or more problems of the prior art mentioned at the beginning of this application is solved by a sheet pile wall section for a sheet pile wall, the sheet pile wall section comprising a plurality of sheet pile arrangements as described herein arranged next to one another along the sheet pile wall extension direction and connected to one another, wherein an intermediate structure is arranged between each of two adjacent sheet pile arrangements, wherein the intermediate structure comprises at least one sheet pile, e.g., several sheet piles, and/or a connecting part, such as for connecting the first sheet piles, wherein the connecting part nay be formed substantially omega-shaped or has two head-shaped connecting sections.
The intermediate structure can, for example, comprise two Z-shaped sheet piles, which can be connected to each other directly or by means of a connecting part.
A connecting part that is substantially omega-shaped is to be understood a connecting part that is shaped in cross-section like the lower-case letter omega, i.e., substantially W-shaped.

A connecting element 90 is arranged centrally on the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10, which is welded to the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10 and which extends along the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension. The connecting element 90 has a connecting section 91 which has a male connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension.
Furthermore, a reinforcing structure V is provided, which comprises a reinforcing element 20 in the form of a second sheet pile 20. The second sheet pile 20 extends parallel to the longitudinal extension. The second sheet pile 20 extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal extension L and orthogonal to the sheet pile wall extension direction S from a first end with a first connecting section 21 of the second sheet pile 20 along a central section 25 of the second sheet pile 20 to a second end with a second connecting section 22 of the second sheet pile 20.
The first connecting section 21 of the second sheet pile 20 is connected to the connecting section 91 of the connecting element 90 in a form-fitting manner. The form-fitting connection is formed by a ball-and-socket type connection. The first connecting section 21 of the second sheet pile 20 has a female connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension. The female connecting profile of the first connecting section 21 of the second sheet pile 20 embraces the male connecting profile of the connecting section 91 of the connecting element 90, so that a form-fitting connection is formed.
The second sheet pile 20 also has a second connecting section 22, which is connected here to a further connecting element 80, which is connected to a third sheet pile 30, which is arranged parallel to and at a distance from the first sheet pile 10. The second connecting section 22 has a male connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension, while the connecting section 81 of the further connecting element 80 has a female connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension. Thus, a form-fitting connection of the ball-and-socket type is formed between the second connecting section 22 of the second sheet pile 20 and the connecting section 81 of the further connecting element 80. The third sheet pile 30 also has a first connecting section 31 and a second connecting section 32 as well as a central section 35, which is arranged between the first connecting section 31 and the second connecting section 32.

The sheet piles 50 and 60 together with the connecting part 70 form an intermediate structure 2. The sheet piles 50, 60 each have a first connecting section 51, 61 and a second connecting section 52, 62 and a central section 55, 65 arranged therebetween.
A connecting element 90 is arranged centrally on the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10, which is welded to the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10 and which extends along the central section 15 of the first sheet pile 10 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension. The connecting element 90 has a connecting section 91 which has a female connecting profile with a substantially constant cross-section parallel to the longitudinal extension.

The first connecting section 21′ of the plate 20′ is connected to the connecting section 91 of the connecting element 90. The connection is formed by an arrangement of the plate end section 21′ in the connecting section 91 of the connecting element 90. The first connecting section 21′ of the plate 20′ has neither a male nor a female connecting profile for a ball-and-socket connection. Rather, the connecting section 21′ of the plate 20′ is formed by the end portion of the plate 20′.
The plate 20′ also has a second connecting section 22′, which is connected here to a further connecting element 80, which is connected to a third sheet pile 30, which is arranged parallel to and at a distance from the first sheet pile 10.
