Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like.

BACKGROUND ART

With particular, but not exclusive, reference to the cosmetic sector, a variety of types of brush are known, different in shape and/or size, to be used according to the type of application and the aesthetic result to be obtained.

In general, all brushes have a gripping body that is particularly suitable to be grasped and held by a user.

The gripping body, which is usually elongated, comprises one end intended to be associated with an application body, i.e., the part of the brush adapted to take the cosmetic product and to apply it to the portions of the skin to be made up.

The housing seat of the application body is typically obtained on a ring nut element generally made of metal material and provided with an adequate cavity defining the housing seat itself.

In addition, the application body comprises a plurality of sprinkling elements, usually natural or synthetic hairs, inserted at least partly into the housing seat so as to be surrounded by the ring nut element and retained therein by interlocking or by means of adhesive substances.

The portion of hairs protruding from the housing seat, depending on the shape of the latter and on the insertion technique, gives the application body different conformations depending on the type of brush.

In the present case, each hair has a first end retained within the housing seat and a second end which is free and protruding from the housing seat itself so that it can be used for taking and applying the cosmetic product.

All this being said, the traditional brushes discussed so far are affected by various drawbacks and are, therefore, amenable to improvement.

First of all, it is important to explain that the set of cosmetic products to be applied to make up the skin generally requires the use of numerous brushes, each to be allocated to a different cosmetic product such as, e.g., powder, blush, eye shadow and so on.

This is all the more appreciable in the field of professional cosmetics, wherein the fact of having to decorate the skin of many different people forces make-up artists to date to equip themselves with special, bulky cases in which to arrange the various brushes.

The size of such cases, however, causes significant complications during their transport and use by make-up artists, the latter having, moreover, to bear the related and often far from negligible purchase costs.

In addition to the problems just described, related to the large number of brushes, there is also the problem due to the difficulty, on the part of make-up artists, of tracing individual brushes during cosmetic product application operations on the skin, as well as that related to the real risk of confusing the brushes with each other.

In this regard, in fact, it is worth explaining that during the aforementioned application operations (e.g., when retouching make-up between photos on a photo shoot) it is common practice for make-up artists to place brushes in bulk on tables or inside dedicated bum bags, frequently giving rise to the problems just discussed.

Another drawback to mention lies in that the traditional brushes, when employed for personal use to apply makeup to one's own skin or that of another person, are usually stored, after use, inside bags and pochettes, risking soiling and even permanently ruining them over time.

Still, an additional drawback is due to the poor handling of the gripping portion, which results in low precision of the cosmetic product application.

This issue plagues known brushes not only in the hitherto discussed field of cosmetics, but also in the field of painting and, more generally, in all those where precision of application is required, competing with the problems complained of thus far in ultimately making the use of traditional brushes somewhat inconvenient.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The main aim of the present invention is to devise a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like, which allows promoting, simplifying and accelerating the performance of the various procedures for applying the cosmetic product to the skin to be made up.

Within that main aim, one object of the present invention is to devise a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like, the use of which does not result in soiling and damaging bags, pochettes and similar containers.

Another object of the present invention is to devise a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like that ensures excellent precision of application of the product on the skin.

Another object of the present invention is to devise a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like, which allows the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art to be overcome within the framework of a simple, rational, easy and effective to use as well as inexpensive solution.

The aforementioned objects are achieved by this brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like having the characteristics of claim 1.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like, illustrated by way of an indicative, yet non-limiting example in the accompanying tables of drawings in which:

EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

With particular reference to these figures, reference numeral 1 globally denotes a brush for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like.

It is specified that preferably the brush 1 consists indistinctly of a cosmetic brush or a fine art brush.

It cannot, however, be ruled out that the brush 1 may consist of a food brush or of an industrial brush.

It cannot also be ruled out that the brush 1 in accordance with the present invention can be used in trichology, spa, body treatment or alternatively to make a wall decoration.

It is important to point out that in the context of this disclosure, by “fluid product” is meant any substance suitable to be taken, applied and sprinkled by the use of the brush 1 such as e.g. powders, creams and liquids in the cosmetic, artistic, food and industrial fields.

Preferably, with reference to the preferred embodiment shown in the figures, the fluid product consists of a cosmetic product.

Alternatively, the fluid product consists of a fluid fine art product such as e.g. tempera or watercolor.

Again, it cannot be ruled out that the fluid product may consist of a food product, paint or the like.

All that said, the brush 1 for the application of fluid products, particularly for powdery, creamy, liquid products or the like comprises at least one main body 2 of elongated conformation.

Specifically, the main body 2 is shaped substantially tubular, that is, it has a purely longitudinal development and substantially constant circular cross-section along such development.

The brush 1 then comprises at least one application body 6 associated with the main body 2 and adapted to pick up and apply a fluid product onto a work surface.

It is specified that the phrase “work surface” refers, in the context of the preferred embodiment of the brush 1 in which the latter consists of a cosmetic brush, to the skin of the user U or of a person or persons made up by the user.

In the event, on the other hand, of the brush 1 consisting of a fine art brush, the phrase “work surface” may designate a canvas, a sheet, a wall or similar surfaces typically employed, in the field concerned, as a medium on which to paint.

Regardless of the intended use, the application body 6 consists of a plurality of sprinkling elements, of the type, e.g., of synthetic or natural hairs, which are gathered to give the application body 6 a specific conformation.

In this regard, as visible in FIGS. 5 and 6, the application body 6 has a substantially hemispherical conformation.

Alternatively, as illustratively shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, the application body 6 has a substantially flattened conformation.

The application body 6 can be directly connected to the main body 2; therefore, in this case, the brush 1 has no connecting components positioned between the aforementioned bodies.

Alternatively, the brush 1 comprises at least one gripping portion 3 associated with a first end 2a of the main body 2 and intended, in use, to be grasped by a user U for the movement of the brush itself.

In particular, the gripping portion 3 has an elongated conformation.

Specifically, the gripping portion 3 is preferably shaped like a right cylinder.

Again, the gripping portion 3 is associated with the main body 2 in a removable manner.

In other words, the gripping portion 3 can, if necessary, be removed from the main body 2 so as to promote the use and movement of the application body 6, e.g., in cases where precision operations need to be performed.

It cannot, however, be ruled out from the scope of this disclosure that the application body 6 may be also associated with the gripping portion 3 in a removable manner.

It should be noted that, in this way, the replacement of the application body 6 is definitely intuitive to perform and can, therefore, be carried out quickly and smoothly, i.e., without causing significant interruptions to the application operations of the fluid product to the work surface.

It is important to point out that:

    • the gripping portion 3 comprises an outer edge 30; and that
    • the application body 6 comprises at least one apical portion 60.

It is specified for the sake of clarity that the apical portion 60 corresponds, regardless of the shape of the application body 6, to the portion of the latter located at a greater distance from the gripping portion 3 (see FIGS. 5, 6 and 8).

In this regard, the distance D between the outer edge 30 and the apical portion 60 is less than 80 mm.

In detail, the outer edge 30 is arranged in a proximal position with respect to the application body 6.

More specifically, the distance D is preferably less than 30 mm.

In fact, such a distance D allows the user U, by placing his or her fingers flush on the outer edge 30, to apply the fluid product very precisely on the work surface, to the benefit of the quality with which the latter is distributed on the work surface.

Continuing to detail the gripping portion 3, it is specified that it is provided with at least a first insertion opening 3a, made on one end thereof (i.e., on one face of the aforementioned cylinder), and with at least a first insertion cavity 4, communicating with the first insertion opening 3a, within which the first end 2a of the main body 2 is inserted (see FIG. 5 and FIG. 8 in this regard).

Preferably, the first insertion cavity 4 has a larger cross section than the first insertion opening 3a.

The reason for this particular size ratio is due to the fact that, as visible in the above figures, the first end 2a is associated with at least one respective first fastening element 5 provided with overall dimensions corresponding to the size of the first insertion cavity 4.

In other words, the first insertion cavity 4 is sized so as to contain within it the first fastening element 5 to size.

Specifically, the first fastening element 5 is adapted to prevent the gripping portion 3 from slipping out of the first end 2a.

As anticipated, in fact, the first insertion opening 3a has a smaller cross section than the first insertion cavity 4; therefore, the presence in the first insertion cavity 4 of the first fastening element 5 causes the same to end up, if pulled, in stopping against the face of the gripping portion 3 on which the first insertion opening 3a is cut out, thus counteracting the slippage of the gripping portion 3 out of the first end 2a.

It is worth mentioning that the gripping portion 3 is provided with at least a second insertion opening 3b opposite the first insertion opening 3a (i.e., cut out on the other face of the aforementioned cylinder).

Again, the gripping portion 3 is provided with at least a second insertion cavity 7 which is communicating with the first insertion cavity 4 and with the second insertion opening 3b and is located between the latter.

As visible in FIG. 5 and FIG. 8, the second insertion cavity 7 is sized with a larger cross section than the first insertion cavity 4.

Therefore, the second insertion cavity 7 has a larger transverse dimension than the first insertion cavity 4 and the first insertion opening 3a.

More specifically, the second insertion cavity 7 is sized so as to contain the application body 6 to size within it, allowing it to be firmly retained.

In this regard, the second insertion cavity 7 is sized with a shorter length than that of the application body 6, allowing the latter to overhang at least partly therefrom and thus be able to be profitably employed to take the fluid product and distribute it over the work surface.

In detail, one end of each sprinkling element is inserted within the second insertion cavity 7 while the other end protrudes from the second insertion cavity 7 and is, therefore, usable for fluid product pick-up and application.

In this regard, it is specified that it is possible to accommodate the application body 6 directly in the second insertion cavity 7 of the gripping portion 3, or to provide for a supporting element of the additional application body 6 positioned between the latter and the gripping portion 3.

Precisely in this sense, the brush 1 comprises at least one ring nut element 8, visible in FIG. 9, which is associated with the gripping portion 3 and houses the application body 6 within it.

In actual facts, the ring nut element 8 is a hollow body with a substantially cylindrical conformation which is sized so as to firmly retain the application body 6 within it.

The ring nut element 8 is preferably made of polymeric, biopolymeric, wood, composite materials or still other known to the expert in the field.

It cannot however be ruled out from the scope of this disclosure that the ring nut element 8 may be made of a metal material.

To allow for an even firmer retention of the application body 6, the ring nut element 8 comprises at least one narrowing 8a located at an upper end of the ring nut element 8 (i.e., the end of the ring nut element 8 arranged, in use, opposite the gripping portion 3).

It is important to explain that this expedient is particularly advantageous in case the application body 6 has a flattened conformation.

In fact, the narrowing 8a of the ring nut element 8 allows the sprinkling elements to remain compacted on each other consistently even after numerous uses of the brush 1, that is, preventing the application body 6 from losing its original flattened conformation over time.

Therefore, this simple and, at the same time, functional technical expedient makes it possible to greatly increase the operating life of the brush 1, while preserving the precision of application of the fluid product perfectly unchanged over time.

Conveniently, the brush 1 comprises at least one handle element 9 fitted on the main body 2 in a sliding manner and coupleable to the gripping portion 3 to allow the movement of the application body 6 (see FIGS. 7 and 9 in this regard).

Specifically, the handle element 9 has a tubular conformation.

More specifically, the handle element 9 is hollow, the cavity of the handle element 9 being sized so that it can be crossed by the main body 2 and can, at the same time, slide along the latter.

The fact of providing a handle element 9 turns out to be a particularly advantageous expedient since it allows the user U to increase, if necessary, the distance between his or her grip and the position of the application body 6, e.g. depending on the particular context of use of the brush 1.

Thus, this technical expedient allows for a significant increase in the precision of application of the fluid product offered by the brush 1 and, therefore, the versatility of use of the latter.

This is emphasized even more when the user needs to detach the gripping portion 3 from the main body 2; in such a case, in fact, the presence of the handle element 9 makes it possible to obtain a brush 1 free from the constraint of the main body itself and usable in the same way as commonly used brushes.

According to the invention, the main body 2 is made at least partly of flexible material and is adapted, due to an external force applied thereon, to be wrapped at least partly around at least one body portion P of the user U.

In this regard, it is specified that the body portion P consists, preferably, of the wrist of the user U; it follows that the brush 1 can be wrapped around the aforementioned body portion P in a manner quite similar to what is commonly done with a standard bracelet.

Alternatively, the body portion P may be different from that just mentioned and may consist of the neck, waist, ankle or other body portions P still around which it is, however, possible to stably wrap the brush 1.

In all cases, it is important to reflect on the fact that providing for a flexible main body 2 turns out to be a particularly advantageous expedient that can, by itself, remedy many of the state of the art problems previously complained of.

Because it can be wrapped around the body portion P, in fact, the brush 1 can be readily detected, unwrapped and, subsequently, used by the user U.

In contrast to what happens in the prior art, therefore, the use of numerous brushes 1 can be done without any risk of confusing them with each other since they can be wrapped around different body portions P and be, therefore, tracked individually in an easy manner.

In this way, among other things, the purchase of cases and bum bags dedicated to containing the brush 1 proves to be completely unnecessary, greatly benefiting the total costs burdened on the user U.

Not only that, but the fact of wrapping the brush 1 around the body portion P also makes it possible to keep clean bags, pochettes and similar containers typically used for carrying known brushes, averting any risk of permanent soiling and damage.

Having specified these advantages, it should also be added that the brush 1 conveniently comprises at least one stiffening element 10 placed internally to the main body 2 and adapted to allow the latter to maintain the shape acquired as a result of its own bending.

Preferably, the stiffening element 10 consists of an elastically deformable core, shown transparently in the attached figures.

In detail, the stiffening element 10 is advantageously made of metal material.

In actual facts, the stiffening element 10 allows the main body 2 to be bent and maintain the shape given thereto by the user U until it is bent again.

Note that, by virtue of its flexibility, the main body 2 can take on a plurality of different conformations that allow, for example, the brush 1 to be hung from the neck in an absolutely intuitive and immediate manner.

In other words, the flexibility of the main body 2 allows the brush 1 to be given a bracelet rather than a necklace conformation in an absolutely smooth and intuitive manner.

Advantageously, the main body 2 comprises at least one housing seat 11 of the application body 6 coupled to a second end 2b, opposite the first end 2a, of the main body 2.

Specifically, the main body 2 is movable between at least one operating position, wherein the application body 6 is outside the housing seat 11 and the main body 2 is stretched (FIGS. 6 and 9), and at least one receding position, wherein the application body 6 is fitted into the housing seat 11 and the main body 2 is closed on itself in a loop (FIGS. 4 and 7).

Therefore, as shown by way of example in FIGS. 1 to 3, it is possible to arrange the main body 2 in the receding position and to wrap it around the body portion P, e.g. around the wrist (FIGS. 1 and 2, where the brush 1 is spirally wrapped or closed in a loop, respectively) or around the neck (FIG. 3), when the brush 1 is not being used.

At that point, it is sufficient to pull the application body 6 out of the housing seat 11, e.g. by pulling the gripping portion 3 away from the second end 2b, to bring the main body 2 from the receding position to the operating position and, in doing so, unwrap it from the body portion P and stretch it again.

It is easy to appreciate, from what has just been said, that the movement of the main body 2 between the operating position and the receding position is of absolutely intuitive and immediate implementation, and can therefore be carried out by the user U in a quite easy manner.

Specifically, the housing seat 11 has a substantially cylindrical conformation.

In this regard, the housing seat 11 comprises at least one housing cavity 12 with complementarity of shape with the application body 6 (FIGS. 5 and 8).

This implies that the housing seat 11 and the application body 6 can be associated with each other by interlocking, ensuring the stability of the coupling between the latter when the main body 2 is in the receding position.

In particular, the housing cavity 12 has a length which is greater than or equal to that of the application body 6 to allow the latter to be fully inserted within the housing seat 11.

It should also be pointed out that the housing seat 11 is provided with at least one input channel 11a and with at least one plug hole 13 that is cut on at least one of its ends (i.e., on at least one of the faces of the aforementioned cylinder) and is communicating with the input channel 11a.

In the present case, the input channel 11a is positioned between the plug hole 13 and the housing cavity 12.

Specifically, the plug hole 13 has a smaller diameter than the transverse dimension of the input channel 11a.

Again, the input channel 11a has a smaller transverse dimension than the housing cavity 12.

Precisely, the input channel 11a is sized so as to contain within it at least a second fastening element 14 associated with the second end 2b (see FIGS. 5 and 8 in this regard) and adapted to prevent the housing seat 11 from slipping out of the main body 2.

Conveniently, the input channel 11a is sized so as to contain within it the second fastening element 14 to size.

As anticipated, the input channel 11a has a larger transverse section than the plug hole 13; therefore, the presence in the input channel 11a of the second fastening element 14 causes the latter to end up, if either the housing seat 11 or the second end 2b is pulled, to arrange itself against the face of the housing seat 11 on which the plug hole 13 is cut.

By doing so, the second fastening element 14 counteracts both the possible slipping of the housing seat 11 out of the main body 2 and the possible slipping of the second end 2b out of the housing seat 11.

From what has been said so far, it can be deduced that the retaining mechanism just described is entirely similar to that occurring between the gripping portion 3 and the first end 2a.

Going into detail, and in accordance with a first embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 through 6, the housing seat 11 is made on the handle element 9.

In actual facts, in this first embodiment, the housing seat 11 coincides with the handle element 9.

So, the input channel 11a extends along part of the handle element 9, while the other part of the handle element is traversed by the housing channel 13, the latter being communicating with the input channel 11a (see FIG. 5).

In this case, the handle element 9 is positionable by sliding between at least one operating position, wherein it is associated with the gripping portion 3 and the application body 6 projects cantilevered from the latter (see FIG. 6), and at least one protective position, wherein the application body 6 is associated with the handle element 9 and fitted into the housing cavity 12 and the gripping portion 3 projects cantilevered from the latter (see FIG. 4).

So, if the handle element 9 is in the protective position, all the user U has to do is to pull the application body 6 out of the housing cavity 12 and make the handle element 9 slide along the main body 2, coupling it to the gripping portion 3.

As mentioned above, the input channel 11a has a smaller transverse dimension than the housing cavity 12; therefore, the sliding movement of the handle element 9 away from the second end 2b can occur smoothly due to the crossing by the fastening element 14 of the inlet channel 11a, first, and of the housing cavity 12, then.

By doing so, the handle element 9 can be easily transported to the operating position and be, therefore, profitably used to vary the distance between the grip of the user U and the position of the application body 6 in accordance with the above.

Therefore, to re-arrange the handle element 9 to the protective position, the user U simply has to make it slide along the main body 2 and move it to the second end 2b, attaching it to the second fastening element 14.

By doing so, the housing cavity 12 projects cantilevered from the main body 2, and the application body 6 can then be inserted within the latter to be protected.

Having said all this, it is worth specifying that a second embodiment of the brush 1, alternative to the previous one and shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, is also envisaged, wherein the housing seat 11 is made on the second end 2b.

In actual facts, unlike the first embodiment, in this second embodiment the housing seat 11 is fixed with respect to the main body 2.

As shown illustratively in the above figures, the housing seat 11 can be made structurally similar to the gripping portion 3, that is, in such a way that its dimensions and conformation substantially coincide with the latter.

It should be noted that providing a brush 1 made up of similar parts makes it possible to reduce its production costs and, consequently, its selling price to the public, stimulating consumers to purchase it.

It cannot, however, be ruled out that the housing seat 11 may be structurally different from the gripping portion 3, e.g., with shorter length or larger transverse dimension.

Having described the two embodiments, it is pointed out that in FIGS. 5 and 6, relating to the first embodiment, the brush 1 is shown provided with an application body 6 with a hemispherical conformation, while in FIGS. 8 and 9, relating to the second embodiment, it is shown provided with an application body 6 with a flattened conformation.

It is easy to appreciate, in this regard, how such a representation is entirely indicative and how the opposite case, wherein the brush 1 made in accordance with the first embodiment is provided with a hemispherical application body 6 and wherein the brush 1 made in accordance with the second embodiment is provided with a flattened application body 6, is to be considered equally valid and feasible.

Conveniently, as visible in FIG. 9, the brush 1 comprises attachment means 15 associated with the main body 2 and adapted to enable the attachment of the brush itself to an external attachment body such as, e.g., a bracelet, a strap, a ring or other similar item wearable by the user U.

According to the preferred embodiment shown in the above figure, the attachment means 15 comprise one or more snap hooks 15.

The brush 1 can, therefore, be easily attached and released from the attachment body by closing and opening the snap hook 15 onto/against the attachment body itself, respectively.

Note how the possibility to attach the brush 1 allows the user U to grasp and release the same in an entirely immediate and intuitive manner, making its use for the application of fluid product evidently more effective than the aforementioned known brushes.

In this sense, it is easy to appreciate that, in the case of providing for a plurality of brushes 1, the user U can attach the latter to the same attachment body by means of their respective snap hooks 15 and switch, if necessary, from one to the other in a very smooth manner, that is, without incurring, in doing so, any difficulty or even the risk of confusing the brushes 1 with each other.

It has in practice been ascertained that the described invention achieves the intended objects.

In particular, the fact is emphasized that the special expedient of providing a main body made of a flexible material and adapted to be wrapped around a body portion of the user makes it possible to promote, simplify and accelerate the performance of the various procedures for the application of the cosmetic product to the skin to be made up.

In fact, thanks to its wrapping to the body portion, the brush is immediately traceable by the user and can be readily unwrapped and used when needed.

This fact averts any possible confusion by the user when using numerous brushes, as the brushes can be wrapped around different body portions (the wrists, neck, waist, ankles and so on), remedying the many drawbacks of the prior art arising precisely following the use of a large number of brushes.

Not only that, but such a construction expedient also avoids possible soiling and damage to bags, pochettes and the like since the brush, being wrapped around the body portion, does not come into contact in any way with such containers.

Finally, the special expedient of providing a handle element that can be coupled to the gripping portion allows the user to increase the distance between his or her grip and the position of the application body, improving the precision of application of the cosmetic product.
