DEVICE FOR SECURING A PROFILED COVER FOR FLOORS
A device for fastening a cover profile (1) for floors has a fastening rail (3) that can be fastened to a subfloor (2) and that has two fastening webs (4) forming a clamping receptacle between them for two profile legs (6) provided on the underside of the cover profile (1), and with a connecting rail (5) which can be optionally inserted into the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail (3) and that is provided with two clamping legs (7) on the underside of a rail base (8) and with two retaining webs (9) projecting from the rail base (8) and forming a clamping mount for the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1). The rail base (8) of the connecting rail (5) is inclined relative to the clamping legs (7) and the retaining webs (9), which are offset inwards relative to the clamping legs (7) by the thickness of the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1), and the clamping legs (7) and retaining webs (9) of the connecting rail (5), which are opposite one another in pairs, the fastening webs (4) of the fastening rail (3) and the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1) each have a different height determined by the angle of inclination of the rail base (8).
The invention relates to a device for fastening a cover profile for floors, having a fastening rail which can be fastened to a subfloor and which has two fastening webs forming a clamping receptacle between them for two profile legs provided on the underside of the cover profile, and with a connecting rail which can be optionally inserted into the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail and which is provided with two clamping legs on the underside of a rail base and with two retaining webs projecting from the rail base and forming a clamping mount for the profile legs of the cover profile.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ARTIt is known (WO 99/01628 A1) to provide cover profiles that are invisibly fastened by means of a fastening rail in order to bridge steps, joints or end sections around floor coverings. For this purpose, the fastening rail, which can be attached to a subfloor, forms parallel fastening webs that protrude from the subfloor and provide a clamping receptacle for two profile legs provided on the underside of the cover profile, which profile legs engage at different depths in the clamping receptacle to adapt to an existing gradation in the area of the floor covering. Since the height of the fastening webs determines not only the lowest, but also the greatest height of the steps or joints to be bridged, because the height of the profile legs of the cover profile can at most correspond to the height of the fastening webs, the use of these known devices is limited to certain ranges of joint or step heights to be bridged.
In order to extend the range of application, it has already been proposed (DE 20 2005 001 979 U1) to provide a connecting rail between the fastening rail and the cover profile, which connecting rail can be optionally inserted into the clamping receptacle between the two fastening webs of a fastening rail that can be connected to the subfloor and which has two retaining webs projecting from a rail base in continuation of the fastening webs of the fastening rail. These retaining webs thus form a clamping receptacle analogous to the fastening webs for the profile legs of the cover profile. The cover profile can therefore be inserted either into the fastening rail or into the connecting rail, so that for larger step or joint heights, only the connecting rail needs to be clamped in the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail before the cover profile is clamped by the connecting rail in a height position that takes into account the respective step or joint height. A disadvantage, however, is that although the height position of the cover profile can be adapted to the respective step or joint height, it is hardly possible to equalise a height difference between floor areas between which the cover profile is to be used to create a transition that is as continuous as possible.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe invention is thus based on the task of designing a fastening device for cover profiles between floor sections in such a way that extensive adaptation to different step or joint heights can be ensured, taking into account any height differences between the floor sections to be bridged by means of the cover profile.
Based on a device of the type described at the beginning, the invention solves the task set by the fact that the rail base of the connecting rail is inclined relative to the clamping legs and the retaining webs, which are offset inwards relative to the clamping legs by the thickness of the profile legs of the cover profile, and in that the clamping legs and retaining webs of the connecting rail, which are opposite one another in pairs, the fastening webs of the fastening rail and the profile legs of the cover profile each have a different height determined by the angle of inclination of the rail base.
As the retaining webs of the connecting rail, which engage between the profile legs of the cover profile, are offset so that their clamping legs are flush with the outer sides of the profile legs, the connecting rail and the cover profile clamped to the connecting rail result in a structural unit that not only has a greater height compared to the cover profile by the height of the clamping legs of the connecting rail, but can also be adjusted in height in the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail depending on the height of the clamping legs. In addition, due to the inclined rail base of the connecting rail and the different heights of the opposing clamping legs and retaining webs of the connecting rail, the fastening webs of the fastening rail and the profile legs of the cover profile depending on the inclination of the rail base, constructive conditions are created for a variable angle of inclination of the cover profile at different heights, which allows adaptation to different step and joint heights as well as to different height distances between the floor sections to be bridged with the aid of the cover profile.
In order to ensure good load transfer from the cover profile to the connecting rail, the cover profile can have a support leg between the two profile legs with a support foot angled according to the angle of inclination of the rail base, which support foot bears against the rail base in a load-bearing manner. Advantageous design conditions arise in this context if the support leg forms a receiving groove for the associated retaining web of the connecting rail with the profile leg, that is on the side facing away from the angled support foot.
For easy height adjustment of the cover profile and the connecting rail in the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail, the profile legs of the cover profile and the clamping legs of the connecting rail can have longitudinal grooves on the opposite outer sides, which longitudinal grooves cooperate with latching lugs provided on the free longitudinal edges of the fastening webs, allowing the height of the connecting rail or the cover profile to be adjusted in stages according to the mutual spacing of the longitudinal grooves.
In order that a sufficient free space can be created in a simple manner for inclined mounting of the cover profile or the connecting rail in the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail, the centre plane between the two fastening webs of the fastening rail can be inclined towards the lower fastening web.

A device according to the invention for fastening a cover profile 1 for floors comprises a fastening rail 3 which can be fastened to a subfloor 2 and which is provided with two fastening webs 4 extending parallel to each other for the clamping of either the cover profile 1 or a connecting rail 5. For this purpose, two parallel profile legs 6 are provided on the underside of the cover profile 1 and two parallel clamping legs 7 are provided on the underside of the connecting rail 5, the outer side of which clamping legs 7 is aligned with the outer surface of the profile legs 6 when the cover profile 1 is connected to the connecting rail 5 to form a structural unit. To connect the cover profile 1 to the connecting rail 5, the connecting rail 5 has two retaining webs 9 projecting from the rail base 8, which are arranged offset inwards relative to the clamping legs 7 by the thickness of the profile legs 6 and form a clamping mount for the cover profile 1 when the retaining webs 9 inserted between the profile legs 6 are latched to the profile legs 6 with the aid of snap locks 10. In order to improve the load transfer from the cover profile 1 to the connecting rail 5, the cover profile 1 can have a support leg 14 between the two profile legs 6 with a support foot 15 angled according to the angle of inclination of the rail base 8, whereby particularly advantageous design conditions result if the support leg 14 forms a receiving groove 16 for the associated retaining web 9 of the connecting rail 5 with the profile leg 6, that is on the side facing away from the angled support foot 15.

1. A device for fastening a cover profile for floors, said device comprising:
- a fastening rail that is configured to be fastened to a subfloor and that has two fastening webs forming a clamping receptacle therebetween receiving two profile legs on an underside of the cover profile, and
- a connecting rail that is configured to be inserted into the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail and that is provided with two clamping legs on an underside of a rail base and with two retaining webs projecting from the rail base and forming a clamping mount for the profile legs of the cover profile;
- wherein the rail base of the connecting rail is inclined relative to the clamping legs and the retaining webs, which are offset inwards relative to the clamping legs by a thickness of the profile legs of the cover profile; and
- wherein the clamping legs and the retaining webs of the connecting rail are opposite one another in pairs, and the clamping legs and the retaining webs of the connecting rail, the fastening webs of the fastening rail, and the profile legs of the cover profile each have a different respective height determined by an angle of inclination of the rail base.
2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the cover profile has a support leg between the two profile legs with a support foot angled in accordance with the angle of inclination of the rail base.
3. The device according to claim 2, wherein the support leg forms a receiving groove for the associated retaining web of the connecting rail with the profile leg, that is on the side facing away from the angled support foot.
4. The device according to claim 1, wherein the profile legs of the cover profile and the clamping legs of the connecting rail have longitudinal grooves on the opposite outer sides, which cooperate with latching lugs provided on the free longitudinal edges of the fastening webs.
5. The device according to claim 1, wherein a center plane between the two fastening webs of the fastening rail is inclined towards the lower fastening web.
6. The device according to claim 2, wherein the profile legs of the cover profile and the clamping legs of the connecting rail have longitudinal grooves on the opposite outer sides, which cooperate with latching lugs provided on the free longitudinal edges of the fastening webs.
7. The device according to claim 3, wherein the profile legs of the cover profile and the clamping legs of the connecting rail have longitudinal grooves on the opposite outer sides, which cooperate with latching lugs provided on the free longitudinal edges of the fastening webs.
