UNDER-STAIRS STRUCTURE
The under-stairs structure includes at least a linear part without a turn, and connecting a lower floor and an upper floor to be adjacent to a habitable room. The under-stairs structure includes: a sloped ceiling formed at an underside of the linear part; and an under-stairs space formed under the stairs to include at least under the sloped ceiling, wherein the under-stairs space is divided into two spaces by a wainscot placed under the sloped ceiling and standing from a floor surface of the lower floor, and the two spaces are a child space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is lower, and a workspace positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is higher and including a desk top board projecting from the wainscot.
The present invention relates mainly to an under-stairs structure of a residential building.
BACKGROUND ARTUnder stairs of a building such as a residence, a space with a low sloped ceiling is formed. Since the space is not suitable for utilization as a general habitable room, it is conventionally utilized for a purpose of storage, toilet, or the like.
Various inventions have been created to more efficiently utilize such an under-stairs space. For example, an invention in which a home office or a workspace is provided under stairs has been proposed (see Patent Literature 1 and Patent Literature 2). In this invention, the workspace etc. utilized basically in a sitting posture is provided under the stairs. Therefore, even such an under-stairs space with a low ceiling is less likely to give oppressive feeling, and the under-stairs space can be utilized efficiently.
Moreover, an invention in which a playroom or a study space for children is provided to a space under stairs has also been proposed (see Patent Literature 3 and Patent Literature 4). When the under-stairs space is utilized as a space for children, even a low ceiling is less likely to be a nuisance. A space with a moderately low ceiling also has an advantage of easily encouraging children to take static behaviors,

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Technical ProblemsMeanwhile, in recent years, with increasing opportunities to work from home, a residence is also required to have a space suitable for home working. Moreover, in a case in which a child-rearing generation works from home, they demand to achieve both of working from home and watching over their children.
In this respect, an object of the present invention is to provide an under-stairs structure which enables to efficiently utilize a space, and to achieve both of working from home and watching over a child.
Solutions to ProblemsA first invention of the present application relates to an under-stairs structure formed under stairs, the stairs including at least a linear part without a turn, and connecting a lower floor and an upper floor to be adjacent to a habitable room. The under-stairs structure includes: a sloped ceiling formed at an underside of the linear part; and an under-stairs space formed under the stairs to include at least under the sloped ceiling, wherein the under-stairs space is divided into two spaces by a wainscot placed under the sloped ceiling and standing from a floor surface of the lower floor, and the two spaces are a child space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is lower, and a workspace positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is higher and including a desk top board projecting from the wainscot.
A second invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the first invention, wherein a transparent plate is provided to stand on the wainscot, and an upper end of the transparent plate continues to the sloped ceiling.
A third invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the second invention, wherein the child space is open toward the habitable room, and a first partition wall with joinery installed thereto is provided between the workspace and the habitable room, and the under-stairs space is entirely closed at a side opposite to the habitable room by a second partition wall.
A fourth invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the third invention, wherein the joinery includes a transparent part.
A fifth invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the first invention, wherein the workspace is formed to face an external wall at a side opposite to the child space, and a clerestory is formed along the external wall.
A sixth invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the fifth invention, wherein the clerestory is openable and closable.
A seventh invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the fifth invention, wherein a custom-made shelf storage is formed along the external wall below the clerestory.
An eighth invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the third invention, wherein the child space is a space surrounded by the floor surface of the lower floor, the sloped ceiling, the wainscot and the transparent plate, and a vertical wall surface provided at an opposite side to the wainscot, and an open boundary between the child space and the habitable room has an upper edge formed in a mountain-like shape by a first slope part along the sloped ceiling, and a second slope part having an inverse slope of the first slope part.
A ninth invention of the present application relates to the under-stairs structure according to the third invention, wherein a ceiling backside of the sloped ceiling or the second partition wall includes a structure having sound proofing properties.
ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS OF INVENTIONAccording to the first invention of the present application, the stairs include at least the linear part without a turn, and the under-stairs space including the sloped ceiling formed at the underside of the linear part is divided into the two spaces by the wainscot, and the two spaces are the child space and the workspace including the desk top board projecting from the wainscot. Therefore, in a case of work (for example, working from home) while facing toward the desk top board from the workspace side, the child space can be seen on the opposite side with the wainscot interposed therebetween, and thereby deskwork can be performed while watching over a child. Moreover, the child space is positioned at the side where the sloped ceiling is lower, and the workspace is positioned at the side where the sloped ceiling is higher. Therefore, the child space can be a small space which has the low ceiling and encourages a child to seclude his/herself therein, and the workspace is arranged at the side where the ceiling is higher than that of the child space. Thus, the spaces having two roles can be provided under the stairs, and space efficiency can further be improved.
According to the second invention of the present application, the wainscot and the transparent plate continuing from the top of the wainscot to the sloped ceiling are provided between the child space and the workspace. Therefore, while watching over a child from the workspace, a sound made by the child can be blocked to some extent, thereby, for example, suppressing a microphone picking up the sound made by the child in a case of a video conference or the like.
According to the third invention of the present application, the child space is open toward the habitable room, and thereby watching over a child is possible both from the workspace and from the habitable room. Moreover, the first partition wall with the joinery installed thereto is provided between the workspace and the habitable room, and the opposite side to the habitable room is closed by the second partition wall. Therefore, daily life noise caused by another resident is less likely to be heard in the workspace, and deskwork and a video conference can be performed in a quieter environment.
According to the fourth invention of the present application, the joinery installed to the first partition wall includes the transparent part, which can suppress the workspace being a stifling space, and make the workspace more comfortable.
According to the fifth invention of the present application, the workspace is formed to face the external wall at the side opposite to the child space, and the clerestory is formed along the external wall, and thereby light can be let into the workspace during the daytime. Moreover, since the boundary between the child space and the workspace includes the transparent plate, light can also be let into the child space from the clerestory. Particularly, since a window provided is the clerestory, light can reach further at the outdoor side, and much light can be let into the child space.
According to the sixth invention of the present application, the clerestory is openable and closable, and thereby the workspace can be ventilated.
According to the seventh invention of the present application, the custom-made shelf storage is formed below the clerestory, and thereby a document, a book, a laptop, or the like necessary for deskwork can be stored. Since the window is the clerestory, storage is possible without blocking the window.
According to the eighth invention of the present application, the open boundary between the child space and the habitable room has the upper edge formed in a mountain-like shape by the first slope part along the sloped ceiling, and the second slope part having the inverse slope of the first slope part. Therefore, an entrance from the habitable room to the child space can be designed like a gable surface of a house, which can be a design to encourage a child to enter therein. Since the second slope part is formed, the upper edge of the boundary is not in a single pitched shape, but in a mountain-like shape. Therefore, an inner circumference of the opening has obtuse angles, which can make work such as wallpapering during construction easy.
According to the ninth invention of the present application, the ceiling backside of the sloped ceiling or the second partition wall has the structure with sound proofing properties. Therefore, daily life noise caused by going up and down the stairs or caused on the opposite side of the second partition wall is insulated, and sound insulating properties of the workspace can be improved.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of an under-stairs structure of the present invention is described with reference to each drawing. An under-stairs structure 1 of this embodiment is an under-stairs structure 1 provided to a building such as a detached house or a duplex-type apartment building with two or more stories. The under-stairs structure 1 includes stairs 2 connecting a lower floor and an upper floor, a sloped ceiling 3 formed at an underside of the stairs 2, and an under-stairs space 4 formed under the stairs to include under the sloped ceiling 3.

In this embodiment, a space between the vertical wall surface 14 and the external wall 12, and under the sloped ceiling 3 and the horizontal ceiling 16 is the under-stairs space 4. The under-stairs space 4 is formed under the sloped ceiling 3, and includes a wainscot 17 standing from the floor surface 13 of the lower floor. The wainscot 17 divides the under-stairs space 4 into two spaces, where a space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling 3 is lower is the child space 7, and a space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling 3 is higher is the workspace 6. A second partition wall 18 is formed as a boundary between the under-stairs space 4, and the toilet room 8 and the hallway 9, and thereby the boundary is fully closed.
The wainscot 17 is formed to have a height of, for example, 900 mm from the floor surface 13, and a transparent plate 19 is provided to stand on the wainscot 17. The transparent plate 19 is formed in such a manner that an upper end thereof contacts the sloped ceiling 3. The transparent plate 19 is made of glass or transparent resin, and for example, provided with a window-shaped frame. The transparent plate 19 is formed from the upper end of the wainscot 17 to a height of 500 mm, for example.

The child space 7 is a small space in which the ceiling is low, and the floor surface 13 has, for example, a square shape with a 900 mm side. A child can feel comfortability by achieving both of moderately open feeling by the child space 7 being open at the habitable room 5 side, and comfortably secluded feeling.

A chair 29 is placed in the workspace 6 in such a manner as to allow seating facing toward the desk top board 27. As described above, in the case in which the desk top board 27 is provided at the height of 700 mm, and the wainscot 17 has the height of 900 mm, an upper portion of the wainscot 17 projects upward by 200 mm from the desk top board 27, and the transparent plate 19 is placed on the projecting portion. When a person is seated in the chair 29 facing toward the desk top board 27, the seated person can visually recognize the child space 7 through the transparent plate 19. Therefore, the person can watch over a child in the child space 7 during deskwork or a video conference in the workspace 6.
When a person is seated in the chair 29 in the workspace 6, the external wall 12 is formed at the back side. The external wall 12 includes a clerestory 30 formed along the horizontal ceiling 16. The clerestory 30 is formed across the entire length of the workspace 6 in the width direction, and a length of the clerestory 30 in the height direction is, for example, 300 mm. As illustrated in
A custom-made shelf storage 31 is provided along the external wall 12 below the clerestory 30. The custom-made storage shelf storage 31 may be utilized, for example, as a space for storing a document or equipment necessary for deskwork, or may store various books so that the workspace 6 can also function as a home library.
In the workspace 6, the boundary with respect to the child space 7 is closed by the wainscot 17 and the transparent plate 19, the boundary with respect to the toilet 8 is closed by the second partition wall 18, and the boundary with respect to the habitable room 5 is closed by the first partition wall 24. Therefore, daily life noise caused by another resident, voices of a child playing, and the like are less likely to be heard in the workspace 6 during a video conference or deskwork, and less likely to disturb working from home.

According to this, the wainscot and the transparent plate continuing from the top of the wainscot to the sloped ceiling are provided between the child space and the workspace. Therefore, while watching over a child from the workspace, a sound made by the child can be blocked to some extent, thereby, for example, suppressing a microphone picking up the sound made by the child in a case of a video conference or the like.
Third InventionA third invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of the first invention or the second invention, where the child space is open toward the habitable room, and a first partition wall with joinery installed thereto is provided between the workspace and the habitable room. The under-stairs space is entirely closed at a side opposite to the habitable room by a second partition wall.
According to this, the child space is open toward the habitable room, and thereby watching over a child is possible both from the workspace and from the habitable room. Moreover, the first partition wall with the joinery installed thereto is provided between the workspace and the habitable room, and the opposite side to the habitable room is closed by the second partition wall. Therefore, daily life noise caused by another resident is less likely to be heard in the workspace, and deskwork and a video conference can be performed in a quieter environment.
Fourth InventionA fourth invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of any of the first invention to the third invention, where the joinery includes a transparent part.
According to this, the joinery installed to the first partition wall includes the transparent part, which can suppress the workspace being a stifling space, and make the workspace more comfortable.
Fifth InventionA fifth invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of any of the first invention to the fourth invention, where the workspace is formed to face an external wall at a side opposite to the child space, and a clerestory is formed along the external wall.
According to this, the workspace is formed to face the external wall at the side opposite to the child space, and the clerestory is formed along the external wall, and thereby light can be let into the workspace during the daytime. Moreover, since the boundary between the child space and the workspace includes the transparent plate, light can also be let into the child space from the clerestory. Particularly, since a window provided is the clerestory, light can reach further at the outdoor side, and much light can be let into the child space.
Sixth InventionA sixth invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of any of the first invention to the fifth invention, where the clerestory is openable and closable.
According to this, the clerestory is openable and closable, and thereby the workspace can be ventilated.
Seventh InventionA seventh invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of any of the first invention to the sixth invention, where a custom-made shelf storage is formed along the external wall below the clerestory.
According to this, the custom-made shelf storage is formed below the clerestory, and thereby a document, a book, a laptop, or the like necessary for deskwork can be stored. Since the window is the clerestory, storage is possible without blocking the window.
Eighth InventionAn eighth invention of the present application is the under-stairs structure of the first invention to the seventh invention, where the child space is a space surrounded by the floor surface of the lower floor, the sloped ceiling, the wainscot and the transparent plate, and a vertical wall surface provided at an opposite side to the wainscot. An open boundary between the child space and the habitable room has an upper edge formed in a mountain-like shape by a first slope part along the sloped ceiling, and a second slope part having an inverse slope of the first slope part.

According to this, the ceiling backside of the sloped ceiling or the second partition wall has the structure with sound proofing properties. Therefore, daily life noise caused by going up and down the stairs or caused on the opposite side of the second partition wall is insulated, and sound insulating properties of the workspace can be improved.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITYThe under-stairs structure according to the present invention is suitable for a residence which enables to achieve both of child rearing of the residence and working from home, for example.

Claims
1. An under-stairs structure formed under stairs, the stairs including at least a linear part without a turn, and connecting a lower floor and an upper floor to be adjacent to a habitable room, the under-stairs structure comprising:
- a sloped ceiling formed at an underside of the linear part; and
- an under-stairs space formed under the stairs to include at least under the sloped ceiling, wherein
- the under-stairs space is divided into two spaces by a wainscot placed under the sloped ceiling and standing from a floor surface of the lower floor, and
- the two spaces are a child space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is lower, and a workspace positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is higher and including a desk top board projecting from the wainscot.
2. The under-stairs structure according to claim 1, wherein a transparent plate is provided to stand on the wainscot, and
- an upper end of the transparent plate continues to the sloped ceiling.
3. The under-stairs structure according to claim 2, wherein the child space is open toward the habitable room, and a first partition wall with joinery installed thereto is provided between the workspace and the habitable room, and
- the under-stairs space is entirely closed at a side opposite to the habitable room by a second partition wall.
4. The under-stairs structure according to claim 3, wherein the joinery includes a transparent part.
5. The under-stairs structure according to claim 1, wherein the workspace is formed to face an external wall at a side opposite to the child space, and
- a clerestory is formed along the external wall.
6. The under-stairs structure according to claim 5, wherein the clerestory is openable and closable.
7. The under-stairs structure according to claim 5, wherein a custom-made shelf storage is formed along the external wall below the clerestory.
8. The under-stairs structure according to claim 3, wherein the child space is a space surrounded by the floor surface of the lower floor, the sloped ceiling, the wainscot and the transparent plate, and a vertical wall surface provided at an opposite side to the wainscot, and
- an open boundary between the child space and the habitable room has an upper edge formed in a mountain-like shape by a first slope part along the sloped ceiling, and a second slope part having an inverse slope of the first slope part.
9. The under-stairs structure according to claim 3, wherein a ceiling backside of the sloped ceiling or the second partition wall includes a structure having sound proofing properties.
