The design relates to a handbag characterized by its essentially rectangular shape, with a likewise rectangular front flap which covers the top and intermediate portions of the front wall of the bag body, and with a rectangular strip which is fixed to the internal face of the flap and extends downwardly beyond the lower edge of the flap and is engaged through a D-shaped retaining member affixed to the lower portion of the front wall of the bag body.
