FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of a retractable safety writing instrument showing my new design.

FIG. 2 is a side elevational view thereof in an extended and exploded condition.

FIG. 3 is a plan view of the top end.

FIG. 4 is an enlarged scale cross-sectional view of the casing taken along line 4--4 of FIG. 1; and

FIG. 5 is an enlarged scale cross-sectional view of the casing taken along line 5--5 of FIG. 2.
