FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a chair base made in accordance with the design of my invention;

FIG. 2 is a side elevational view of the chair base;

FIG. 3 is a side elevational view of the chair base rotated 45.degree. from the showing in FIG. 2;

FIG. 4 is a top plan view of the chair base with one arm broken away for convenience;

FIG. 5 is a bottom plan view of the chair base;

FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken along plane VI--VI of FIG. 4;

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of my design employing five base arms instead of four;

FIG. 8 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of my design;

FIG. 9 is a side elevational view of the alternative embodiment;

FIG. 10 is a side elevational view of the alternative embodiment rotated 45.degree. from the showing in FIG. 9; and

FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view taken along plane XI--XI of FIG. 8.
