FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the manhole cover;

FIG. 2 is a top plan view of the manhole cover; the bottom plan view is identical except that its handle assembly is diametrically disposed in relation to the assembly shown in FIG. 2;

FIG. 3 is a side elevational view of the manhole cover;

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line 4--4 of FIG. 2; and,

FIG. 5 is an enlarged fragmentary top plan view showing in detail a portion of the surface ornamentation.

Brief description of nature and intended use: The article is intended for use as a reversible manhole cover of identical appearance from both its top and bottom sides.
