Description

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a channel fastener according to the present design;

FIG. 2 is a bottom plan view thereof;

FIG. 3 is an elevational view thereof from one side, the opposite side being symmetrical thereto;

FIG. 4 is a front elevational view thereof, taken 90° from FIG. 3, the opposite rear view being symmetrical thereto;

FIG. 5 is an elevational view thereof from the side opposite to that of FIG. 3, 90° from the view of FIG. 4;

FIG. 6 is a rear elevation view thereof, 90° from the view of FIG. 5; and,

FIG. 7 is a top plan view thereof.

The channel fastener of FIGS. 1-7 is used for interconnecting metal framing components and/or securing objects on such channel fastening components (for example, see U.S. Pat. No. 4,830,531).

FIGS. 1-7 show a channel fastener according to the present design having, from top to bottom, a metal washer having a large central hole for receiving a bolt, a plastic spring clamped on, and surrounding, the washer, a cage secured to the plastic spring and an elongated nut having a threaded central hole for receiving the bolt. To use the channel fastener, it is positioned relative to a part or parts of a metal structure (not shown) so that the part or parts are sandwiched between the washer and the nut and the spring element is pressed against the part or parts.
