The utensil assembly is of a knife and fork, as well as of oriental sticks. The knife and the fork, when coupled to one another, impart an elastic bias from a resilient, elastically deformable element of the knife cooperating with a coupling portion of the fork to spread apart stem handles of the knife and fork. The stem handles of the knife and form may be manually forced toward each other against the elastic bias to pick up portions of food as in the manner of oriental sticks.
