plant named ‘KLEKB24053’
A new Kalanchoe plant particularly distinguished by yellow Flowers with a large orange center; and a vigorous, upright and free flowering plant habit with numerous cymes positioned above the foliar plane; is disclosed.
Genus and species: Kalanchoe blossfeldiana.
Variety denomination: ‘KLEKB24053’.
BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANTThe present invention comprises a new and distinct variety of Kalanchoe, botanically known as Kalanchoe blossfeldiana and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘KLEKB24053’. ‘KLEKB24053’ originated from a controlled cross between proprietary female Kalanchoe variety ‘KA-2017-FV13018’ (unpatented) and proprietary male Kalanchoe variety ‘1106-4’ (unpatented) in Kenya in December 2019.
A plant line was selected in June 2020 and subsequently named ‘KLEKB24053’. In July 2020, ‘KLEKB24053’ was first vegetatively propagated by vegetative terminal cuttings in Stuttgart, Germany. ‘KLEKB24053’ was found to reproduce true to type in successive generations of asexual propagation via vegetative cuttings in Stuttgart, Germany.
SUMMARYThe following are the most outstanding and distinguishing characteristics of this new variety when grown under normal horticultural practices in Stuttgart, Germany.
-
- 1. Yellow flowers with a large orange center; and
- 2. A vigorous, upright and free flowering plant habit with numerous cymes positioned above the foliar plane.
This new Kalanchoe plant is illustrated by the accompanying photograph which shows an overall view of the plant. The photograph is of an approximately 12-week-old plant grown in Stuttgart, Germany in May 2024. The colors shown are as true as can be reasonably obtained by conventional photographic procedures.
The following detailed descriptions set forth the distinctive characteristics of ‘KLEKB24053’. The data which define these characteristics were collected from asexual reproductions carried out in Stuttgart, Germany. Data was collected in June 2025 on 14-week-old plants grown Stuttgart, Germany grown in a greenhouse. Color references are to The R.H.S. Colour Chart of The Royal Horticultural Society of London (R.H.S.), 5th edition (2007).
