    Abstract: A cutting saw chain having cutting tooth links distributed therealong. Each cutting tooth link having a portion at one end upstanding therefrom and twisted out of the plane of the link to form a cutting edge. The links on opposite sides of the chain have the upstanding portions twisted in opposite directions. Each cutting tooth link at the other end has a portion upstanding in the plane of the link and forming depth limiting means. A link in advance of each cutting tooth link also has an upstanding part forming a depth limiter for the following cutting tooth link.

    Abstract: A tone source apparatus is provided for an electronic musical instrument. It comprises a memory circuit which has a plurality of addresses and is so arranged that where at least one cycle of a musical tone waveform is divided into p units and a waveform in each section range is represented by a formula containing the abscissa as its variable, a coefficient and a section range quantum number of each formula is memorized in the form of digital signals in the corresponding address. Also included are a clock pulse oscillator, a counter means for counting output clock pulses of the clock pulse oscillator, and a coincidence circuit serving to generate the coincidence signal when the output digital signal of the counter means and a digital signal of the section range quantum number memorized in the memory circuit coincide with one another. A decoder designates the next stage address in order by output signals of the coincidence circuit.

    Abstract: In an electronic musical instrument, such as an electronic organ, the speech characteristics of reed organ pipes are simulated by applying pulses produced by key-actuated tone generators, which pulses are preferably narrow as compared to their repetition frequency, to a low-pass filter, the pass characteristic of which has a relatively sharp knee and a very rapid rate of rolloff, thereby to sharply attenuate the harmonics contained in the pulse which have frequencies above the cutoff frequency. The resultant tone passed by the filter is surprisingly reed-like in character, and by changing the cutoff frequency, reed-like voices of differing properties, imitative for example, of an organ Oboe tone, an orchestral Oboe tone, a Clarinet, a Kinura or a Trompette are obtained.

    Abstract: Music encoding and decoding apparatus which divides a keyboard instrument into groupings of designated lengths such as octaves wherein each octave is scanned, either in sequence or on triggering of a key in that octave; the apparatus includes a master encoder which encodes a key closure, the encoding being in the form of a word of multiple bits having a specified word length. The apparatus further encodes the expression of the note. The expression constitutes a portion of the word. Decoding apparatus is likewise incorporated. It reverses the sequence and drives a solenoid for operation of a keyboard instrument.

    Abstract: The stop control for an organ console comprises a panel including groups of touch sensitive switches disposed in pairs with an adjacent indicating lamp, wherein the switches of a pair respectively actuate and deactuate a given stop while the lamp indicates whether the stop is actuated. The switches of a pair are connected to set and reset terminals of a latching circuit which provides an output for energizing the indicating lamp and for controlling appropriate stop circuitry in the organ. The touch sensitive switches are disposed in groups according to the organ manual or function to which the corresponding stops pertain. A general cancel switch returns the various latching circuits to a reset condition. A transposer control circuit includes a plurality of switches and adjacent indicating lamps wherein the depression of a particular switch operates a latching circuit and resets other latching circuits associated with the transposer.

    Abstract: A toy piano has a set of sound-producing elements disposed within a frame, and a set of key-shaped levers pivotably supported on the frame along a normally horizontal axis for movement from a first position to a second position, respectively. A set of hammers is pivotably disposed within the frame for striking the sound-producing elements; the hammer-contacting ends of the levers normally rest on the hammers, respectively, for preventing the release thereof. The sound-producing means are actuated either manually by depressing one of the levers and releasing it thereafter so that a corresponding hammer is then made to impinge on one of the sound-producing elements, or automatically when a cam-shaft is permitted to periodically strike at least one of the released hammers.

    Abstract: A bridge for a stringed instrument, preferably a violin, is disclosed for the purpose of enhancing the volume and tone quality of the instrument. The bridge is made from wood and has an upper generally oval body portion which is supported by the lower inverted V-shaped leg section. The body portion includes four slits through its width, associated with the strings as described in detail in the specification. The leg portion includes two slits aligned to form another inverted V-shape conforming to the shape of the leg portion. The leg portion may also have holes drilled into it for the purpose of removing material to reduce the overall weight of the bridge. Several preferred contours are disclosed for the body portion, one of which may be selected for use with different stringed instruments.

The first and second threaded connector structures coact to removably threadedly support the beater ball from the outer terminal end portion of the bar. The beater ball is supported from the bar spaced outwardly of one side thereof to be advanced toward a bass drum and the structure comprising the first and second threaded connector structure is of simple design for ease in manufacture at a low cost and also capable of establishing a firm but releasable connection between the beater ball and the bar.

The musical instrument tuning device includes a tone sensor, connected to the vibrating sound producing member. A comparator is connected to the tone sensor. A signal generator is also connected to the tone sensor. A tone adjustor is connected to the comparator, and to the vibrating sound producing member. The tone sensor senses the rate of vibration of the vibrating sound producing element, and produces a tone sensor signal indicative of the rate of vibration. The signal generator produces a selected frequency signal. The comparator receives the tone sensor signal and selected frequency signal, and produces an error signal indicative of the difference between the tone sensor signal and selected frequency signal. The tone adjustor receives the error signal, and adjusts the rate of vibration of the vibrating sound producing element in response thereto.
