Patent number: 4207672Abstract: A method of mounting heating wire coils on ceramic fiber insulation walls. A ceramic fiber cement bead is applied in a desired pattern to the surface of a ceramic fiber wall, either directly to a flat surface or in a groove. An elongated iron-chromium-aluminum alloy heater wire coil is pressed into said cement so that the cement flows up and over the coil loops which contact the wall and the cement is cured. Patent number: 4207678Abstract: A dental shade guide system for increasing the accuracy in matching an artificial tooth coloring to a patient's natural teeth by providing a plurality of primary shade guides, each guide having a specific chroma percentage made from a predetermined formula. Each primary shade guide has a corresponding plurality of secondary shade guides such that each of the corresponding secondary shade guides has a decreased chroma percentage which is determined by varying the value ratio of the primmary shade guide formula. This is accomplished by mixing the primary shade guide formula in varying amounts with a gray or white modifier. In one embodiment of the invention the secondary shade guides provide a chroma range which in selected applications overlaps with the chroma range of several of the primary shade guides providing the practitioner with a more accurate match. A method for making and using the secondary shade guides is disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1977Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: William W. Jeannette

Patent number: 4207682Abstract: A wear resistant plate is secured to the surface of a refractory grid of a fluid bed apparatus to both improve the wear life of the refractory grid and to serve as a means for retaining the fluidizing air nozzles in place. Anchor bolts or studs are embedded in the refractory material. These can be either embedded in cast refractory during the casting process or in the case of factory fired refractory bricks, T-shaped grooves are formed in the sides of the bricks. Wear resistant plates are then secured to the surface of the refractory by using the anchor bolts and suitable fasteners. The wear resistant plates have openings therethrough which are aligned with but larger than the fluidizing air holes in the refractory grid. The fluidizing air holes through the grid have nozzles positioned therein. These nozzles are secured to the grid by using a fastener arrangement to releasably secure the nozzles to the wear resistant plate or by shaping the wear resistant plate to act as a fastener.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Assignee: Fuller CompanyInventors: Kenneth H. Patent number: 4207684Abstract: A rectangular building contains a pair of light permeable panels which face in a southerly direction in order to receive as much solar radiation as possible. One of the panels constitutes one section of the building's sloping roof and the other a vertical wall of the building. The remainder of the building panels are mainly of sheet metal. Inside the building and spaced from both the light permeable panels are a pair of circular grain storage bins, each being open at the top but protected or covered by the overlying roof. Air heated by the radiation transmitted through the light permeable panels is induced to flow through each bin so as to dry grain or other crops contained in the bin. The air then passes through a gravel bed at the bottom of each bin into ducts having fans which exhaust the air and the moisture it has picked up to atmosphere.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: J. Patent number: 4207697Abstract: A magnetic strip assembly for signs is provided for use in attaching a sign to the surface of a structure formed from a ferromagnetic metal. This device, which utilizes solvent welding or instead of pressure sensitive adhesives, allows for a more effective attachment of signs to metal surfaces. Other devices for the attachment of signs to metal surfaces utilizes pressure sensitive adhesives which are prone to adhesive failure, which is not a problem with this device. This magnetic strip assembly includes a flexible magnetic strip preferably with two flanges thereby creating a slot, a flexible mounting strip which is inserted into the slot of the magnetic strip thereby providing for mechanical interconnection, and a plastic sign which is fastened to the mounting strip by means of solvent welding. The solvent weld provides an extremely effective means of adhesion.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: Ralph W. Murphy

Patent number: 4207699Abstract: A rest which provides an extremely simple, inexpensive, rugged, and durable structure for firmly supporting the barrel of a pistol or rifle during firing. A base having a plurality of legs, one of which is adjustable, is adapted to be supported in a generally horizontal position on a surface by the legs. An L-shaped pedestal is mounted on the top surface of the base and has a threaded opening formed in a cantilever portion of the pedestal for adjustably receiving a threaded shaft therein. A V-shaped gun barrel support member is rotatably mounted on the top of the shaft by a plurality of rubber O-rings. The support member includes a cylindrical bushing frictionally engaged with the O-rings and a V-shaped bracket covered with a protective material mounted on the top of the bushing. A resilient pad of material is mounted on and extends along the rear portion of the base on which a shooter's hand and forearm is supported when firing a pistol supported by the rest.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: Wayne A. Patent number: 4207700Abstract: This net asssembly, designed primarily for fishermen or the like, comprises a flexibly-hinged triangular collapsible trio of net supporting arms, and a handle member. Two of the net supporting arms are hingedly attached to the handle by means of a pair of hinge fingers integrally projecting from the handle. The third of the net supporting arms is hingedly affixed at one end to the other end of one of the first named arms, by a flexible hinge, and is slidably engaged at its other end around the second of said first named pair of arms. The three arms support a net, and in closed position are in close, side-by-side, parallel relationship. The net is opened by sliding the one end of an arm along one of the arms which is hinged to the handle, thus quickly creating a solid triangular net assembly. A cylindrical storage member is provided to act either as an extension handle, or to receive the collapsed net assembly, telescopically.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: Gilles Marleau

Patent number: 4207701Abstract: A tethered top capable of being disassembled by unscrewing of its two body section halves from one another is disclosed. No tools are required to dismantle the tethered top, since a center connector shaft is secured to a pair of end connectors which are keyed into the respective body section halves, with at least one of the end connectors being threadedly connected to the connector shaft. A wooden center shaft or axle member is disposed concentrically on the connector shaft, having an axial bore, and this axle member engages into counterbores at the inner sides of the body section halves. Similar counterbores are located at the outside surface of each half, for receiving the keyed end connectors. Thus, each body section half is reversible, and the tethered top may be assembled in any of three general configurations. The wooden axle member may be removed and replaced when worn out by dismantling the tethered top.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Inventor: Thomas R. Kuhn

Patent number: 4207702Abstract: A saucer-shaped toy having a generally planar central portion, a relatively thick, downwardly depending rim and a mid-portion having a textured outer surface containing a series of spaced apart portholes or windows extending between the rim and central portion. A diametrically positioned, cylindrical cradle formed in the central portion is adapted to receive a chemical light-stick, and the light-stick is releasably secured in place by resilient retaining fingers. In use, illumination from the light-stick propagates through the toy to cause the toy to dramatically simulate fictionalized flying saucers and allows the toy to be used in low light conditions.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Assignee: Dynamic Toy Company, Inc.Inventors: Martin R. Boatman, Phillip E. Robertson, Martin M. Gaughan
