  • Patent number: RE30689
Abstract: A foldable bench for converting a normally hand-held electrically powered circular saw into a table saw, wherein the bench is easily portable when folded and highly stable when in use. In particular, the bench employs four foldable leg members having floor engaging extremities movable from a first position wherein the leg members are contained entirely within the bench housing to a second position wherein the floor engaging extremities are positioned laterally beyond the lateral extremities of the upper surface of the bench to thereby provide a compact, portable unit when the leg members are folded and an extremely stable bench when the leg members are extended. Simplicity in design is achieved by extrusion forming the upper surface from a single unitary member having means for slidingly mounting the portable hand-held circular saw and containing side grooves for receiving auxiliary attachment fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4280227
Abstract: A protective cape is formed from a continuous piece of material, such as plastic, with a centrally located neck opening. The cape is formed with generally opposed portions relative to the neck opening, one of which has a relatively large area and the other of which has a relatively narrow area. The narrow area portion overlaps the large area portion along the front surfaces of the wearer's torso, so as to close the cape along the front surfaces of the wearer's neck. Fastening means are formed along engaging surfaces of the overlapped portions adjacent the neck opening. The fastening means comprise interlocking surfaces fitted to coincide with upper edges of the neck opening, such that the neck closure lies flat against the wearer's neck contour.

  • Patent number: 4280233
Abstract: Improved bone connective prostheses are disclosed. The prostheses comprise a reinforcement element carrying a polymer layer having a varying modulus of elasticity. The exterior surface of the polymer layer constitutes the bone attachment surface of the prostheses and has the lowest modulus of elasticity. The interior surface of the polymer layer is attached to reinforcement element and has the highest modulus of elasticity. Portions of the polymer layer lying between the exterior and the interior surface of the polymer layer have moduli of elasticity which are intermediate with respect to the moduli of elasticity of the exterior and interior surface of the layer. The modulus of elasticity of the layer decreases in the direction of interior to exterior. The decrease in modulus of elasticity may be either continuous or incremental. The reinforcement element may have either a simple or a complex structure.
