Patent number: 4304119Abstract: A method and device for measuring the osmotic pressure on the basis of an improved supercooling process, whereby and wherein cryohydrate nuclei are made to generate almost spontaneously in a part of a sample liquid by cooling the above part down further to a temperature (to an extra-supercooled state) lower than the temperature of a supercooled state, wherethrough the sample liquid as a whole is induced to freeze statically. Patent number: 4304156Abstract: Stud bolts are threaded into the body of a nuclear reactor vessel and tenned by exerting forces on tensioning nuts located on the upper end of the studs. While the studs are under tension, a cover is attached to the vessel by tightening nuts on the studs against the cover. The tensioning nuts are applied to the studs by immobilizing the studs axially and rotationally, and rotating the tensioning nuts with a pair of driven, diametrically opposed striking rollers. External threads on the striking rollers, external threads on the nut and internal threads on the nut all have the same pitch so that the threads on the striking roller remain engaged with the external threads on the nut as the nut moves axially while being threaded onto the immobilized stud.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1979Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Assignees: Compagnie des Aciers, Outillages et Equipements Industriels-le Roulement, Etat FrancaisInventors: Georges Boudet, Pierre Gibert

Patent number: 4304157Abstract: The main body of a wrench has incorporated in its hollow interior an eccentric ring for receiving input, a ratchet wheel for giving output, pushing bars disposed between the eccentric ring and the ratchet wheel and linearly movable by the rotation of the eccentric ring, and pawls for intermittently rotating the ratchet wheel in one direction every time when the pawls are pushed by the forward ends of the bars. The main body is externally provided with a reaction withstanding lever forced outward at all times by a spring-loaded cam and a lever for freeing the lever from the force of the cam.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Inventors: Keiichi Yamada, Kanzi Miyatake

Patent number: 4304158Abstract: A grip sleeve (1) from plastics or the like material, for a handle of a pliers or nippers of the kind which has at least one leaf spring (3) between both its handles for opening the pliers. To localize and retain the spring, the sleeve is formed with an elongate slot (4) on its side facing towards the opposite handle, the slot being open towards the opposite handle and is T-shaped, seen in cross section through the sleeve. At one end, the slot has its cross section, which is suited to the cross-sectional dimensions of the spring, freely exposed for inserting the spring in the crossbar (5) of the T. The stem (6) of the T forms the opening of the slot and the spring is thereby kept in place by flanges (7) on either side of this opening, formed by the T configuration.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Assignee: Aktiebolaget Bahco VerktygInventors: Bengt B. Patent number: 4304159Abstract: A machine tool for working elongated rod-like materials in rotation, particularly an automatic screw machine capable of working thin and long materials with a high degree of accuracy comparable to that of a headstock moving type automatic screw machine without involving any error in the indexing of the cutting tools for the work. The tool stand is reduced in weight, and movable along the longitudinal axis of the work, so that the machine is easy and inexpensive to manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Assignee: Takayuki NomuraInventor: Yoshifumi Tsuchiya

Patent number: 4304160Abstract: A spring actuated, pivoting cutting tool, which is used in conjunction with turning equipment and which at the termination of its cutting stroke automatically lifts the cutting edge off the finished surface to allow the tool to be withdrawn without leaving a return mark, is provided with a spring actuated, slidable shield which substantially covers any gap between the moving parts of the cutting tool, thus reducing the likelihood of chips or other debris from lodging between the moving parts of the tool and preventing its proper operation.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Assignee: Barr-Don, Inc.Inventor: Milford W. Patent number: 4304161Abstract: Device for the manual playing of electronic musical instruments. Each manual has three groups of keys respectively arranged along three tilting bars, for operation by three fingers on one hand of the player. When a key is pressed at one end, it tilts the bar on which it is mounted in one direction, and one tone is produced. If the same key is pressed at the opposite end, it tilts the bar in the opposite direction, and a different tone is produced. Special control keys or action converters include a roll positioned so that it may be operated by the thumb of the same hand which is playing the keys. Rotation of the roll by the thumb produces one control signal affecting the sound issuing from the instrument, and axial motion of the roll by the thumb produces a different control signal. Other refinements and improvements are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1979Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Inventor: Rainer Franzmann
