Patent number: 4349977Abstract: An automatic fishing apparatus is disclosed which comprises a reel means mounted on a free clutch plate of a clutch assembly. A second clutch plate of the clutch assembly is provided on a driven shaft which also passes through the first plate. Two members are provided with bevelled surfaces one of the members having a rod which is moved when a fish takes a line coupled with the rod. Movement of the rod causes rotational movement of one of the members and also lateral movement of one of the members, which lateral movement is transmitted to the free clutch plate to force the free clutch plate against the driven clutch plate so that drive is transmitted to the free clutch plate and the reel means to reel in the line. Once the fish is reeled in the fish contacts the rod which causes the rod to move to return the said one of the members to its original position to separate the clutch plates to thereby stop the rotation of the reel means.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1980Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: King Reel Proprietary LimitedInventors: Marcus T. Patent number: 4349978Abstract: A fishing device is provided which in a single structure can be used to perform a plurality of fishing operations, such as a motorized jigging operation, a casting operation, a trolling operation and a motorized jigging trolling operation. The device imparts a lifelike swimming action and oscillatory movement to lures, to baits and to live or plastic minnows. This imparted action and movement is caused by an electric motor in the handle which revolves an eccentric striker arm to deflect a length of line positioned in the path of the striker arm. Two separate control means permit the device to impart such movements to lures and baits of differing weights, sizes, buoyancies and physical structures. The first control is a variable rheostat which varies the angular velocity of the striker arm and thus varies the rate at which the striker arm contacts the length of fishing line positioned in the path of the striker arm.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1979Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Inventor: Charles R. Patent number: 4350017Abstract: The thermal loss incurred through a fill and vent conduit of a cryostat is minimized by inclusion therein of a central coaxial member. Thermal energy transfer is desirably promoted by radiation between the interior surface of the fill and vent tube and the central coaxial member by enhancement of the emissivity of the respective facing surfaces. For a tubular central member dual paths to respective pressure relief valves are obtained.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1980Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: Varian Associates, Inc.Inventors: George D.
