The flow and pressure of the blood in the passage is controlled by a restriction located remote from the inlet end of the tubular body. The pressure differential between the blood supply and blood receiver maintains continuous and adequate blood flow at a desired pressure in the body passage and provides a continual supply of blood for the coronary artery branches.

After the structure has set, additional layers may be formed in an ordered manner depending on the intended function of the prosthesis. Alternatively, all the layers may be formed concurrently. A plastic mesh sleeve is sandwiched between layers or embedded within the smooth muscle cell layer to reinforce the structure and provide sufficient elasticity to withstand intravascular pressure.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a process for disposing of human waste wherein the liquid waste is evaporated off and the solid waste is dehydrated for easy disposal. A preseparating toilet bowl roughly separates the urinous wastes and the toilet rinse water from the fecal wastes and other solid wastes dumped into the preseparating toilet bowl. The liquid waste separated from the solid waste flows into an evaporator wherein it is evaporated into the atmosphere by means of air currents circulated through the evaporator. The solid waste drops into a dryer or incinerator wherein it is dehydrated by the heat or vacuum drying process, or a combination thereof, or incinerated by an electric heater or gas burner. The dried solid waste may be bagged and used as a fertilizer or it may be taken to a centralized incinerating plant.

A belt type conveyor conveys each segment in incremental steps along a path, with the axis of each segment transverse thereto. Then, separator devices cause the conveyor to temporarily release its grip on the wire segment to allow wire shifter devices, first, to axially shift the wire segment very rapidly a great distance so that the conveyor can regrip the wire segment near its other end and, secondly, to axially shift the wire segment slowly for a short distance to precisely position its opposite end in final position wherein a second terminal attachment machine on the other side of the conveyor attaches a second terminal to the opposite end. Alternatively, the same type of resist is used at both exposure stages. By adjusting the resist processing, the second masking layer is made larger than the first masking layer. In this case, the second masking layer is used to define an oxygen mask before oxidizing the exposed surface of the body to form an accurately aligned oxide layer pattern.

A substantially horizontal first conductive layer is formed over the insulating layer. The openings have substantially vertical surfaces on the layered structure. A conformal, highly doped of a second conductivity conductive layer is formed over the openings having these vertical surfaces and over the insulating and conductive layers. The conformal layer is anisotropically etched to substantially remove the horizontal portions of the conformal layer while leaving the openings with a substantially vertical conformal conductive layer on the sides thereof.
