Patent number: H433Abstract: An electronic warfare software system design for an electronic counter measures system is presented which includes two general purpose processors (GPP) and multiple special purpose processors (SPP). The GPPs are the system controllers. These GPPs transmit setup data, including time information or hardware item and all related tasks for that function or hardware item. The SPPs are not required to handle multiple tasks and therefore do not require high complexity design. Also the complexity of the GPPs is reduced. The requirements of the system could be met by each SPP, keyed off a central clock strobe, with the resources of the processor dedicated to satisfying that function's time critical needs. In the two GPP setup the GPPs retain central control as well as completing overhead type tasks. There is one central executive control function that allocates tasks to be done to each of the processors.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1985Date of Patent: February 2, 1988Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air ForceInventor: Louis P. Patent number: H436Abstract: A low voltage trigger pulse is coupled to a three-stage driver which genees therefrom a high amplitude (e.g., 20 amp.) decaying current spike of predetermined width. The current pulse or spike from the driver is coupled to the gates of a multiplicity (i.e., 12) of parallel-connected field effect transistors (FETs) to turn or switch the same to the "ON" state. A laser diode array is series-connected with the parallel connected FETs so that when the latter is switched ON a very high (100 amp.) current pulse is delivered to the laser diode array to enable the same. At the cessation of the pulser current drive, a passive pull-down technique is used to enhance the turn-off of the parallel-connected FETs so that the laser diode array is quickly disabled. A protective overload circuit sets a limit to the average current through the laser diode array without affecting the pulse burst current.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1987Date of Patent: February 2, 1988Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Walter E.
