  • Patent number: 4967503
Abstract: Automatic hand guns in contrast to conventional pistols are commonly supplied with reversing hammer mechanisms for the firing pins immediately above and adjacent to the top of the grip which is set in motion by pulling the trigger. A magazine for shells is held in place in the handle by use of a releasable catch which must be readily manipulated by hand when a magazine is to be removed and replaced. Cushion-type reinforced replaceable grips have portions of the reinforcement specially formed at critical locations to make certain that there is no deformation of those portions of the grip which might otherwise impair either the hammer mechanism or the magazine release.

  • Patent number: 4967506
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a tree in an upright position includes a cord having one end removably connected to the tree and the other end removably connected to a ground anchor. The ground anchor is generally in the shape of an inverted J, both legs of the "J" being inserted in the ground such that only a very small loop projects from the ground. A hook on the anchor-end of the cord is connected to the projecting anchor. The projecting portion of the anchor is only slightly above ground level so removal of the cord from the anchor will allow a mower to pass thereover.

  • Patent number: 4967512
Abstract: An arrangement for controlling the closing sequence of two wings of windows, doors, and the like, especially smoke or fire protection doors, which are closable by means of a door-closing device each. The two wings are a moving wing to be opened first and a resting wing to be opened subsequently, so that projecting edges of the doors which face each other come into contact with each other in the correct sequence. A control device is actuated primarily by the slide rollers of the door-closing device of the resting wing when the resting wing is opened. With the use of a control lever and a sliding member displaced by the control lever toward the axis of rotation of the resting lever, a locking member is pivoted into the return end region of the guide roller of the door-closing device of the moving wing. This locking member locks the final closing movement of the moving wing until the resting wing has been closed.

  • Patent number: 4967513
Abstract: When sanding for instance panelled doors in a belt sanding machine it must be prevented that transversely extending parts (16) are sanded since it would be harmful to sand across the direction of the grain of the wood. A machine according to the invention is therefore provided with a combined sensing and control device which in a simple and effective manner will prevent damage caused by the sanding process by controlling the contact of the sanding belt with the workpiece. The device consists of a disc (14, 20) which is mounted on the sanding equipment. The disc (14, 20) protrudes a distance beyond the sanding position of the sanding belt (15), in order that the disc will sense the workpiece when the workpiece is moved under the sanding belt. When the disc (14, 20) rolls across a frame piece (16) the sanding belt (15) is pivoted up above the wood, and when the disc (14, 20) meets a recessed part (18), the sanding belt (15) is pivoted to a non-sanding position.

  • Patent number: 4967515
Abstract: A numerical control grinding machine, in which rough grinding and finish grinding wheels are used to machine a workpiece into a predetermined shape. A sensor detects the finish grinding wheel contacting the workpiece surface when shifting from the rough grinding to finish grinding operations and determines its position. The numerical controller of the grinding machine calculates the difference between actual and theoretical sizes of the workpiece and completion of the rough grinding operation based on the finish grinding wheel position. After that, the controller compensates the rough grinding wheel position in the next machining cycle for the difference calculated by the controller.

Abstract: An inverted horizontal wrapping machine is provided with an article infeed system which includes a horizontal feed trough with an open exit end positioned closely adjacent the inlet end of the wrapping material tube being continuously formed by the machine's forming box. Offset to one side of the trough is a looped drive chain structure which is rotated in an essentially horizontal plane. A spaced series of flag-type pusher members are pivotally secured to the chain structure for movement therewith, the flag portions of the pusher members along the inner side of the chain structure being swept through the trough to slide articles therein sequentially into the tube inlet. As each pusher flag reaches the exit end of the trough, a first cam element upwardly and rearwardly pivots the flag to disengage it from its associated article, and the pivoted flag is then moved horizontally away from the trough.

  • Patent number: 4967543
Abstract: A lawn mower has a hydraulic motor mounted on each drive wheel and each motor is independently driven by a separate pump. Each pump includes a control lever for regulating fluid pressure and flow direction so that each wheel may be driven independently in the forward and reverse directions and at varying speeds. A speed control index is mounted on one side of the mower for releasably setting and maintaining the speed control levers in a plurality of equal forward speed positions so that the operator can preset the maximum forward speed. In addition, an individual speed control lever is mounted on each handgrip and each is independently coupled to one of the control levers for individually adjusting each wheel for speeds less than the preset maximum or for setting either wheel drive pump in neutral or reverse. A neutral control assembly returns the pump control levers to a neutral position when the control levers are moved into neutral.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a speed controller system for the gathering unit of a harvesting assembly wherein the speed is controlled as a ratio of the ground speed of the harvesting machine. The system is provided with an electronic controller having a ground speed sensor and a speed sensor for the gathering units. The operator through a ratio selector selects the desired speed ratio and the controller controls the speed of the gathering unit accordingly. The controller can be ised with different harvesting assemblies such as a platform having a reel or belt pickup gathering unit; or a row crop header having a conventional row crop gathering unit or a corn picker row unit. The controller is also provided with a diagnostic routine for flagging problem areas with the system. The flagged problem areas are assigned a diagnostic code which is displayed in a defined order.

Abstract: A mobile harvester of leafy produce has two harvesting sections with a cutter located forwardly for severing the produce from the ground. A continuous belt having a large number of openings moves in a closed path presenting an upwardly facing surface. A low pressure plenum underneath the belt provides a vacuum attraction to the belt upwardly facing for picking up severed produce. An enclosure ove the belt protects against wind removal of produce leaves from the belt. The two harvesting sections are individually adjustable for proper height above the ground.

  • Patent number: 4967549
Abstract: A device for the storage of a yarn of limited length spun on a spinning machine, comprising a suction pipe and a yarn storage chamber. The suction pipe is connected to a negative-pressure line and serves to seize the yarn by means of suction air. The yarn storage chamber is located between the negative pressure line and the suction pipe. The yarn can be aspirated into the yarn storage chamber and can be drawn off once more in the direction opposite to the direction of aspiration. The yarn storage chamber is located in a body which is rotatably mounted. In the process for the storing of the yarn, the yarn is seized by the stream of suction air and is sucked through the suction pipe into the yarn storage chamber. The yarn is accumulated against the screen surface of the yarn storage chamber until the stream of suction air in the suction pipe is weakened to a point where additional aspiration of more yarn is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4967550
Abstract: A control system actively controls at least one troublesome mode of an unsteady motion phenomenon in turbomachinery in order to enable an increase in the operating range of the turbomachinery. For example, rotor blade flutter or rotating stall may be controlled in a turbocompressor. The control system has a control bandwidth which is at least partly coexstensive with the bandwidth of the unsteady motion phenomenon and operates by passing sensor signals related to the unsteady motion phenomenon from a sensor array in the turbomachine to a mode filter which produces a signal or signals which are related to the troublesome mode or modes. The selected mode signals are amplified and phase-shifted by time-variable amounts so as to produce control signals having controlled amplitude and phase relationship to the troublesome mode.
