When pressure is exerted on the opposing walls, the pin slides along the serrations of the serrated member, causing an interruption of the continuous pressure exerted on the walls, thereby causing the fluid to be delivered in a pulsed stream.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1991Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Inventor: George Kozam

Patent number: 5169036Abstract: A dispenser for granular material or liquid includes a dispenser housing attached to a granular material/liquid-holding container. The housing has a hemispherical distal end including an exit port and a curved linear slot. A spherical casing having a common inlet/outlet port and an attached lever arm riding in the slot is positioned in the distal end of the housing so that in a fill position a measured quantity of the granular material/liquid passes from the container and fills a predetermined volume or two incremental volumes within the casing. Upon hand and finger movement of the lever arm to a first or second position the casing is sealingly rotated to a dispense position with cessation of access of material from the container and with the casing inlet/outlet port then aligned for at least partially aligned with the housing exit port. The measured volume or volumes then flow from the casing by gravity.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1992Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Inventor: Vincent L. Y. Tong

Patent number: 5169039Abstract: A hand-held, manually-actuated dispenser for selective discharge of a stored fluid includes a discharge outlet defined in an elongated housing and a reciprocatable elongated member normally maintained in a first position closing the discharge opening for preventing a release of contained fluid. Also defined in the housing is a first chamber for containing fluid for discharge from the discharge opening, a second chamber or reservoir for storing a supply of the contained fluid, and a passage between the first and second chambers for enabling contained fluid flow therebetween. The elongated member is movable in a first direction from the first to a second position in which the discharge opening is opened for enabling a release of contained fluid from the first chamber and in a second direction from the second to the first position to refill the first chamber from the second and thereby complete a two-stroke fluid-discharging operation of the dispenser.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1991Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Assignee: Photofinish Cosmetics, Inc.Inventors: Nathan Kay, Donald W.
