    Abstract: A method of making EVA shoe midsole includes a compound containing in percentage by weight the substancessuch as 100% of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) into which 5-40% of filling agent, 1-10% of foaming agent, 0.5-3% of bridging agent, 0.5-5% of finishing aid, 0.1-1% of foaming aid and coloring agent are added. Such compound is made into particles to be injected into the primary mold in which the preliminary blank of midsole is formed. The preliminary blank is made to foam to take shape of a molded blank under heat and pressure so as to ensure that the size of the molded blank corresponds to that of the midsole intended to be made. The molded blank is then treated in the secondary mold under heat and pressure and is subsequently cooled to take form of the midsole intended to be manufactured.

    Abstract: A drive-through wash of a type in which a vehicle is translated forwardly along a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The wash includes a frame affixed to the floor and sized to allow the vehicle to pass therethrough. Right and left side washers are attached to the frame and are longitudinally aligned with one another for washing the right and left sides of the vehicle. A curtain washer is attached to the frame in lateral alignment with the right and left side washers and extends into the path of the vehicle. Right and left wraparound washers, each respectively having an elongated right and left booms are horizontally, pivotably attached to the frame on opposite sides, above the path of the vehicle, and extend rearwardly therefrom. Rotatable right and left wraparound wheels are supported on a pair of carriages that slide upon the elongated booms. The elongated booms pivot relative to the frame allowing the wraparound wheels to follow the contour of the vehicle passing through the wash.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting a high torque, low speed electric motor suitable for mass production includes a pair of drawn steel annular frames each having an L-shaped cross section. One frame is coupled to the stator and another is coupled to the rotor. In order to provide torque pulsation isolation, at least one of the frames is coupled to its respective rotor or stator by means of an elastomeric bonding material held in compression such that radial motion is minimized while permitting limited torsional motion. One of the frames, preferably the stator support frame, may be press-fit or coupled to the stator via a hard-setting polymer or a low melting point metal such as zinc. The L-shaped frames each have a flange extending radially and which is adapted for connection to a motor frame or to a driven element.

    Abstract: An automatic assembly system transports workpieces to a work station whereat the workpieces are processed into an assembled product. The automatic assembly system conmprises a monorail that defines a path above the work station. A trolley travels along the monorail supporting a workpiece carrier by means of a pair of latches pivotally connected to the trolley. A lowerator mechanism is mounted to the monorail above the work station. When a trolley stops above the work station, the lowerator mechanism thereat operates to lift the workpiece carrier from the trolly latches. The trolley latches retract and the lower mechanism then lowers the carrier and workpieces to the workstation without lowering the trolley or the monorail. A safety interlock prevents uncontrolled lowering of the carrier and workpieces.

    Abstract: A method of forming leadouts on a surface mountable chip carrier for electrical connection to a supporting substrate, such as a motherboard. The chip carrier includes a carrier board having input/output vias extending to a selected layer of the carrier board. In a preferred embodiment, the selected layer is the lower surface of the carrier board, but the selected layer may optionally be the upper surface or an intermediate layer. The input/output vias are on an inboard side of an interconnection region. An array of terminals, which may also be vias, are on the outboard side of the interconnection region. The interconnection region is removed from the carrier board to form a window located between the terminals and the input/output vias. In the preferred embodiment, a metallic layer is then deposited on the lower surface of the carrier board. The metallic layer is patterned to leave leads extending from the input/output vias to the terminals, thereby providing parallel leads extending across the window.

    Abstract: A method for securing a roll-ring onto the end of a roll-axle, comprising prefitting a roll-ring onto a roll-ring mount, and securing the mount with the roll-ring fitted thereon, onto the end of a roll axle. Securement is effected by passing one single screw-threaded bolt axially through an opening through the roll-ring mount, and tightening the bolt into a screw-threaded recess within the end of the roll-axle. The mount has a cylindrical end part (22) on which a roll-ring (30) can be secured, and the mount has an abutment surface (24) against which a roll-ring is to be pressed. Clamping structure (27, 28) presses the roll-ring against the abutment surface, and projections and recesses (25, 29, 31, 34) non-rotatably secure the mount to an end of a roll-axle. The end of the roll-axle has a conical recess in which a conical external surface on the roll-ring mount shape-matingly fits.

The front and back steel skins have a pressure sensitive hot melt adhesive applied thereto and the center polystyrene core is attached between the front and back steel skins and passed through a series of pinch rollers to apply predetermined pressure to the front and back skins to secure the front and back skins to the polystyrene core. The front and back skins are preheated to a predetermined temperature sufficient to maintain the pressure sensitive hot melt glue in a soft and tacky state.

    Abstract: A shower shaver is made from two plastic piece parts. A first part is a handle in the nature of a pipe terminating in a cavity. The other piece part delivers water which strikes a razor blade and then exits under the cutting edge of the blade with enough force to wash debris away from the blade. A valve on the shaver handle provides a continuously variable control over the flow of water to the shaver. A tubing or hose attached to the shower shaver leads to a nipple which may be interposed between an outlet and a pipe. A quick disconnect connector enables the tubing to be connected to or disconnected from the nipple. A bracket or hanger is attached to a wall in any suitable out of the way location in order to receive and support the shaver when the shaver and the quick disconnect connector on the tubing is not in use.
