  • Patent number: 5184367
Abstract: A sweeping machine having a housing which comprises two housing parts that can be separated from one another. One housing part is used for the bearing of two circular brooms. The other housing part is constructed as a receptacle for sweepings. An arrangement is provided for detachably connecting the two housing parts which has devices for the centering and devices for the locking of the two housing parts. The connecting of the two housing parts requires relatively high expenditures in the state of the art. The two housing parts are lifted manually, are hung into one another and are pressed together. They are then locked in this pressed-together position by means of a locking lever.

  • Patent number: 5184380
Abstract: A heald singularizing system includes a selecting member (21) for the healds (LI) fed in the form of a stack (LS). The selecting member (21) separates the front-most heald (LI1) from the stack and makes it available for the drawing-in of the warp threads. The selecting member (21) is formed by a piston which can perform a stroke essentially transversely to the heald stack (LS), during which the heald (LI1) is displaced from the heald stack (LS) into an intermediate position (ZP). Transfer means (24) transfers the respective heald (LI1) from its intermediate position (ZP) to a transport unit (25) for taking it to its drawing-in position. All types of healds can be selected from the heald stack, and neither a special preparation of the healds nor the use of a special type of heald is necessary. The heald separation and the further removal are completely uncoupled, to permit the use of means optimally adapted to the individual functions and also to simplify considerably the rectification of faults.

  • Patent number: 5184397
Abstract: An electrical component placing apparatus having a rotary head is required to be further accelerated to place an electrical component. In order to accelerate the operation of the placing apparatus, the indexing speed of the rotary head must be accelerated. However, since the rotary head is heavy, its rotating inertial is large. Thus, when the indexing speed of the rotary head is accelerated, a vibration at the time of stopping indexing of the rotary head is increased as well. Therefore, mistakes of picking up the electrical component by the pick and place head and placing the electrical component on the substrate occur. This invention reduces the outer diameter of a rotor for indexing a pick and place head smaller than the diameter of a guide for guiding the indexing of a pick and place head, disposes a bracket for supporting the pick and place head along the wall surface of the rotor and reduces the rotating diameter of the pick and place head smaller than the diameter of the guide.

  • Patent number: 5184404
Abstract: A wire cutter includes a fixed handle having an enlarged top end and a movable handle which has a top end pivoted to the enlarged top end and a gear unit stationarily provided on the top end. An elongated plate has a first end to which the gear unit is pivoted and a second end. A gear member is pivoted to the second end and meshes with the gear unit. A fixed cutting member includes a lower mounting portion fixed to the enlarged top end and an upper curved cutting portion. A curved movable cutting member is pivoted to the cutting portion and has one side formed with a toothed section. An extension spring is connected to the first end of the plate and the movable handle and biases the plate so that the plate inclines upwardly to permit engagement between the toothed section and the gear member. A pawl member is resiliently pivoted to the enlarged top end adjacent the gear member opposite to the gear unit.

  • Patent number: 5184407
Abstract: A plier-like tool having a resilient spring normally urging the jaws of the ool in an outward direction. One of the jaws is pivotally attached to one end of a flexible measuring tape that has an offset intermediate its length so that when the tape is wrapped around the tubing that is to be measured, the tape will not overlap itself. The other end of the tape has an aperture therein adapted to receive a pin carried by the other jaw of the tool, so that when the tape is wrapped around the tubing and the pin is engaged in the aperture, releasing the manual pressure on the tool will permit the biasing spring to spread the jaws apart, thus snugly wrapping the tape around the tubing. If the tubing size is correct, indicia on the parts of the tape that are in side-by-side relation around the tubing will register or align.

Abstract: An orthotic appliance adapted to be placed in an article of footwear, the orthotic including a first upper, relatively flexible blank portion and an underlying, relatively rigid cap portion. The blank portion has a longitudinally-extending zone of disparate resiliency relative to first and second side areas of the blank; the zone of disparate resiliency deforms downwardly raeltive to the side areas as the foot begins to bear weight, so that the side areas cradle the foot and urge it into a neutral position as the foot transitions from heel strike to mid-gait. A relatively resilient pad portion and a moldable insert are positioned intermediate the blank and cap portions. The zone of disparate resiliency may be formed by a recess in the bottom side of the blank, and the pad may be complementally formed to fit into this and so modify the zone of disparate resiliency.

  • Patent number: 5184412
Abstract: An elongated resilient retainer is positioned between an excavating tooth and tooth holder such that the tooth and tooth holder compress and, thus, deform the retainer to frictionally secure the tooth to the tooth holder. The resilient retainer includes ribs that extend longitudinally along its outer surface. These ribs are circumferentially spaced such that when the retainer is under compression, the ribs engage and grip the upper and lower edges of the tooth adjacent thereto. In this way, the area of surface contact between the resilient retainer and the surface between which it is compressed is augmented to more securely hold the tooth in the tooth holder.
