Abstract: Athlete's arm jacket which includes a first shell portion for covering one side of the upper torso of a person wearing the jacket. A sleeve is secured to the shell portion for covering one arm. A mesh covers the opposite side of the upper torso, and a second shell portion is detachably secured to the first shell portion. Another sleeve is attached to the second shell portion. The jacket may be worn and used as a traditional jacket, or one shell portion may be detached so that only one arm, shoulder and one side of the upper torso of the body are covered.

Abstract: A slidably mounted curtain support for supporting a curtain, having an intermediate portion and a pair of spaced end portions at the end edge portions thereof in overlapping relation with at least one end wall of a pair of spaced end walls, which, with a rear wall, defines an enclosure such as a shower tub enclosure. The curtain support is mounted to a support rod and includes a primary arm and a secondary arm disposed in normal relation. The primary arm supports the portions of the intermediate portion adjacent to the end edge portions, and the secondary arm supports the end edge portions of the curtain. A downwardly extending arm serves as a handle to aid in the slidable movement of the certain along the rod and also engages the inner surface of the curtain to aid in preventing the curtain from billowing.

Abstract: A toilet system designed to use recycled "gray water". The toilet includes a toilet reservoir positioned above a toilet bowl with a first conduit connecting the reservoir with the bowl. A sinkable sphere, which acts as a discharge valve for the reservoir, seats on an inner surface of a cone-shaped, resilient valve seat positioned on top of the first conduit. A valve lifter is positioned below the sphere to selectively lift the sphere off the valve seat to open the reservoir valve and drain "gray water" into the bowl. The toilet bowl also has a bowl valve for releasing "black water" from the toilet bowl through a second conduit. Controls are provided to permit an operator to independently control both the "gray water" coming into the toilet bowl and the "black water" exiting the toilet bowl.

The ability to convert the article is provided by a two pieced frame assembly including a seat section and a back section which are pivotally attached preferably at only two discreet points. Abstract: In order to present patients in the correct position for surgical or investigative procedures and in order to reduce the time required to place on and remove from operating surfaces on which such procedures are carried out on patients, a wheelchair of novel configuration is described. The wheelchair has a seating arrangement comprising a back rest portion, a seat portion and foot rest means, adapted to receive a patient in a semi-recumbent or sitting position. The seating arrangement can be tilted so that the back rest portion is substantially horizontal and the seat portion is divided so that the patient's legs can be moved apart, while still supported, to present the patient's ano-genital region for surgical or investigative procedures.

Abstract: A patient examination table, of the type used in an x-ray examination apparatus, has one end secured to a ceiling or floor stand via a tilt mechanism which permits the longitudinal axis of the table to be tilted upwardly or downwardly. The table can be tilted around an imaginary axis, the imaginary axis being movable roughly in the middle of the examination table. The tilt mechanism includes a driven element, which may be a part of the housing for the tilt mechanism, a first gear which is rigidly attached to the stand, a second gear which is rigidly attached to the examination table and a transmission linkage between the first and second gears which permits the second gear to be movable around the drive shaft of the first gear as the driven element is rotated. The second gear is rotated in an opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the driven element.

Abstract: An interdental toothbrush has a hinged locking retainer on the end of an elongated handle. The locking retainer has a hole which is positioned relative to a groove in the handle so that a twisted wire brush may be locked into place simply by inserting it and closing the retainer. A latch on the locking retainer has a top end with a double cam surface thereon. One of the cam surfaces guides the latch into a locking position as the retainer is closed. The other of the cam surfaces releases the locking retainer when pushed.

Abstract: A toothbrush which is anatomically designed and constructed to effectively and efficaciously remove plaque or calculus from the inaccessible interproximal spaces between adjacent teeth, and at the same time gently massage the gingiva and effectively clean the teeth. The toothbrush includes a unique and novel bristle arrangement at one end of an offset handle. The bristles are arranged in tufts embedded in and anchored to a toothbrush head which is integrated with the handle in a conventional manner. The bristle tufts being arranged in twelve transverse or lateral rows with each transverse row including four tufts of bristles except for the outermost transverse row which includes only two tufts of bristles. The odd numbered transverse rows of tufts of bristles are all the same length and the even numbered transverse rows of tufts are of a length less than the odd numbered transverse rows of tufts.

Abstract: A kit for cleaning the contacts on video game consoles and cartridges comprises a cleaning solution, a cleaning clip, a cleaning card and a pair of cleaning wands. The cleaning solution is applied to the contacts of the console or the cartridge using one end of the cleaning card to remove dirt and other low voltage build up. The contacts are then dried with the opposite end of the cleaning card. For areas of the contacts that are difficult to reach with the cleaning card, two cleaning wands are provided. One wand is used for cleaning and the other for drying. Each wand is an angled oblong member with a porous fabric attached on the operational end. Additionally, the cleaning clip is sized for attachment to the game cartridge and cleans the contacts in the console. After the clip is attached, solution is placed on the clip and the cartridge is repeatedly removed and inserted from the console to brush the clip across the contacts and apply the cleaning solution.

The present invention can provide a motor controlling apparatus which can automatically open the circuit of the drive motor by means of the limit switch capable of being opened by the actuating rod as the piston moves downward resulting from rising of degree of vacuum inside the collection tank of the vacuum cleaner such as due to a clogging of the suction port and the filter pocket of the tank.

Abstract: A seat belt adjuster is provided for holding the lap seat belt to the shoulder belt of an automobile seat belt and prevent the shoulder belt rubbing against the neck of a wearer. The adjuster is made of a single unitary piece and therefore cannot be separated. A frame member formed of resilient material has a front portion, rear portion, top edge, bottom edge and space between the front and back portions for containing the lap seat belt. There is a hinge at the top edge joining the rear and front portions together and a retaining snap at the bottom edge to hold the two portions together. A clip forms part of the front portion extending down from the top edge retains the shoulder belt.

The robot in a preferred embodiment includes an arm movable in a predetermined path, a powered variable angular displacement rate pressure roller mounted on the end of the arm for tracing the body opening and applying the fixed length to the opening, a calibration table for storage of preprogrammed datums for the pressure roller angular displacement rate and weather stripping feed rates for a plurality of locational segments along the body opening during an application cycle, a controller for delivering a signal representative of the calibration table preprogrammed datums to the pressure roller, an encoder for determining the actual angular displacement rate of the pressure roller, and an encoder for determining the actual feed rate of the weather stripping.

Abstract: An outboard constant velocity universal joint for a steered wheel of a vehicle includes a one-piece, structurally-integral inner race and first shaft and a one-piece, structurally-integral outer race and second shaft. The inner race has an outer surface of partially spherical configuration. The outer race has a closed end and an open end with an inner surface of partially-spherical configuration and of constant radius extending from the open end to the closed end. The inner and outer races fit closely together in the manner of a ball and socket without any cage between the surfaces thereof. A cage or retainer is located in the closed end of the outer race with a convex outer surface substantially equal in length to the radius of the inner surface of the outer race. The cage has a plurality of fingers extending only into end portions of the grooves of the inner race. The fingers have outwardly-extending flanges extending into grooves of the outer race.

Abstract: A wire rod type stacking office furniture chair and method of assembling same, comprising, including a separate chair seat and back for same, a pair of endless rodding members each defining along the left and right sides of a chair a lower quadrilaterally contoured base frame having lower floor engaging runners that may be glide equipped and upper runners above the chair lower runners that support the chair seat between them, with the rodding members adjacent the rear of the chair each defining a similar vertically oriented upright, chair shoulder forming loop, between which shoulders the chair back is supported. The chair back comprises an assembly including a mounting pan fixed between the chair right and left side shoulder forming loops, an inner opaque back member, and an outer opaque back member, with such back members being secured together in opposed relation on either side of the mounting pan and in encapsulating relation to such pan, by interfitting devices that are also concealed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for detachably joining two members at a plurality of points along their corresponding edges and without longitudinal displacement of these edges during and after closure of the joint. A movable wedge means is advanced between pairs of force receiving points connected to each of the two members. As the wedge means is advanced in the apex direction, the pairs of points are forced apart and, in direct response, the corresponding edges are drawn together. Variations on two fundamental embodiments are disclosed, one is linear and the other is circular. In the linear embodiments, two doors, panels or bars are joined. In the circular embodiments, round tubes or rods are joined or a circular cap is secured to a container or enclosure. The invention may also be embodied in kits for joining linear or circular members. In other embodiments, a gasket material and/or other component is retained between the corresponding edges.

Abstract: A machine which separates pallet boards from their connecting stringers by sawing essentially through their attaching nails only, thus minimizing damage to the boards so that they can be reused.In order to separate and loosen the boards so that only the nails are cut a pressing device is designed to squeeze the sides of a pallet inserted within it. Then the loosened pallet, with the boards lifted so that there is space enough for a saw blade to be inserted to cut the nails only, is sent through the previously described sawing machine.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electric motor for a windshield wiper of motor vehicles is described, in which magnets are held on the housing case by way of an adhesive connection. Thereby the magnet, together with the adhesive, is inserted into the housing case, before said housing case is coated with powder under heat supply. Thereby the heat supplied for coating the housing case with powder is simultaneously used for hardening the melting adhesive.

The auxiliary equipment comprises a swinging member supported below the cover feed turret and horizontally swingable to under a screwing position of the screw member; the first pedestal replaceably positioned on the swinging member, on which the cover feed turret can be placed when the swinging member is swung to the screwing position of the screw member; and the second pedestal replaceably positioned on the connecting member, on which a cover guide can be placed.

Abstract: A process for measuring an unbalance of a torque converter, in which an outer member and an inner member of the torque converter are assembled, and oil is filled into the outer member to establish a condition similar to an actual service state of the torque converter. In this condition, the two members are rotated in unison. If the rotational speed of the torque converter reaches a measuring rotational speed, a plurality of measurements are conducted with the phase of the outer and inner members being varied between each measurement through a predetermined angle, thereby correctly detecting only an unbalance due to the outer member, with an unbalance due to the inner member being canceled from the results of the measurements. Cutting a balance weight having a weight sufficient to correct the detected unbalance from a metal tape and attached said cut balance weight to an outer periphery of the outer member of the torque converter at a given position by spot-welding or adhesive-bonding.

Abstract: Flat tubing is fed from a continuous supply into an embossing station and then into a cutting station and is briefly stopped periodically for an operation in each station. The embossing station has embossing dies for forming a transverse groove in the tube where a cut is desired and for reducing the tube perimeter dimension adjacent the cut to a required size. At the cutting station grippers engage the tubing on either side of the groove and bend the tubing to separate it at the groove.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for repairing a heat-exchanger of the type having a tube sheet in which the extremities of exchanger tubes are mounted. The method involves unrolling tubular insert stock from a supply roll, straightening the unrolled insert stock by passing it through a straightening device which has its output disposed substantially in alignment with one of the exchanger tubes to be repaired and at a location adjacent the mounted extremity of the exchanger tube, and forcibly pulling the straightened insert stock into the one exchanger tube. The pulled-in insert stock is then cut to length, and the ends radially expanded against the inner walls of the exchanger tube, and sealed to the tube sheet.

Abstract: An apparatus having a support plate mounted to a grip portion of a bow member, wherein the support plate includes a plurality of peep sights mounted thereon, each peep sight arranged in an associated slot, and each peep sight associated with various elevational hinges to permit sequential firing of an arrow at various elevational sights without recourse to continuous sight changes of the apparatus.

Abstract: A sight is shown on an archery bow with the sight formed from a light collecting and conducting plastic. A bead of the sight is formed by a face located on end segment at one end of an elongate, tapered main member. The main member has a relatively large, light collecting surface area to assure bead illumination in low light conditions. The light waves collected by the main member are internally conducted by the sight formed from a transparent plastic with a fluorescent dye dispersed therein. One form of sight utilizes mechanical components for attachment to a bow while a modified form forms such components from the plastic material.
