Abstract: An electric steering apparatus which effects position adjustment by electric drive has a screw shaft parallel to upper and lower columns. A nut member rotatably supported by a housing fixed to a bracket is fixed against movement in the axial direction of the screw shaft and threadably engaged with a screw portion provided at one end of the screw shaft. In a preferred embodiment the other end of the screw shaft is pivotally connected to the upper column for pivotal movement relative to the bracket in the direction of tilt. The nut member is self-aligning in the housing, and the nut member is rotatively driven by an electric motor to move the screw shaft in the axial direction and thereby move the upper column, whereby position adjustment can be accomplished. The apparatus is provided with a back-lash preventing device in which the screw shaft is pressed against the nut member in a radial direction and the threadably engaged portions of the screw shaft and the nut member are urged against each other.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the chaotic filming of documents in which the latter are equipped with a first code, and then in unordered sequence are filmed with the application of a pulse code, wherein of the first code applied respectively on the documents fed for filming at least the address is detected and intermediately stored, the pulse code on the exposed film is detected and continuously added up, and the number corresponding to the image of the relevant document in the pulse code and the address of the first code are jointly stored as the image address.According to a first embodiment the documents are paged in unordered sequence and then filmed with the allocation of a blip pulse code. According to a second embodiment, documents are provided with the code allocated respectively by a computer, whereby the computer contains the code and optionally further information in store. The documents are then filmed in unordered sequence with the simultaneous application of a pulse code, using a camera.
Abstract: A configurable logic array comprises a plurality of configurable logic elements variably interconnected in response to control signals to perform a selected logic function. Each configurable logic element in the array is in itself capable of performing any one of a plurality of logic functions depending upon the control information placed in the configurable logic element. Each configurable logic element can have its function varied even after it is installed in a system by changing the control information placed in that element. Structure is provided for storing control information and providing access to the stored control information to allow each configurable logic element to be properly configured prior to the initiation of operation of the system of which the array is a part. Novel interconnection structures are provided to facilitate the configuring of each logic element.
Abstract: Aryloxytriazine-capped polyphenylene ethers are prepared by reaction of a polyphenylene ether with an aryloxychlorotriazine such as diphenyl chlorocyanurate. The products undergo reaction with amine-terminated polymers such as polyamides, to form compositions which have excellent properties and which find utility as molding compositions and as compatibilizers for blends of similar polymers.
Abstract: A formulation chamber is disclosed comprising a wall surrounding a lumen containing a device for delivering a beneficial agent. The chamber has an inlet for admitting a fluid into the chamber and an outlet for letting an agent formulation leave the chamber. The chamber is adapted for use in an intravenous delivery system for delivering an agent formulation to a patient.
Abstract: The visor arrangement of the present invention includes a visor element and support apparatus to support the element in a pivotable state between a lowered, operative position and a raised, inoperative position on a protective helmet or other holder which can be applied on the user's head. The support apparatus is a pair of support arms, each consisting of two detachably connectable parts pivotable in relation to each other. One of the parts is provided with a laterally protruding journalling-pin element, while the other is provided with a laterally running through-opening into which the journalling pin can be inserted.
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a visored cap having a crown portion with opposing front and rear portions and with two opposing side portions, the visored cap including: providing the visor displaced from its normal position of being attached to and extending forwardly from the perimeter of the front portion, such that the visor is attached to and extends outwardly from the perimeter of one of the side portions.
Abstract: An accessory item including a cap having a cut-out through which the wearer's hair may rearwardly extend. A decorative hair band is attached to the rear of the cap. In an alternate embodiment, a hair piece is attached to the hair band to simulate a natural braid or ponytail.
Abstract: The present invention is for an undergarment which can be used separately or in combination with a bifurcated overgarment. Both the undergarment and the bifurcated overgarment are designed with crotch elements which can be easily opened and closed, allowing body waste elimination without requiring partial disrobing. The undergarment has a slidable crotch panel which moves between a closed position and an open position. The overgarment has a closeable crotch opening which, when worn with the undergarment of the present invention, is aligned with the slidable crotch panel of the undergarment. The overgarment preferably has side openings which allow access to the undergarment so that the undergarment can be adjusted.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved apparatus and method for providing a necktie restraining apparatus. The present invention employs a fusion cloth to stiffen necktie material so that it may be employed as vertical and horizontal members on an apparatus for securing a four-in-hand necktie to a shirt button while automatically adjusting to compensate for changes in the amount of slack on the necktie. An improved method of manufacture of such a necktie restraint apparatus is also disclosed.
Abstract: A mechanically operated pneumatic cleanout tool for clearing blockages in waste lines. The tool, which is readily adaptable for use in wash basins, bath tubs, toilets, bidets and the like embodies a novel safety pressure relief valve which prevents hazardous failure of the device in the event that excessive pressure is inadvertently builtup within the air chamber of the device.

Abstract: A head support spans the entire width of a shampoo bowl or sink of the type having neck depression in the front wall and supports the head of a person during rinsing operations. The head support is a flexible elongate rectangular strip of open mesh netting of having a rectangular generally J-shaped clip releasably attached at each end by hook and loop type fasteners. A second rectangular generally J-shaped clip is secured to the opposed side walls of the shampoo bowl or sink and releasably receive and engage the curved portion of the clips at the ends of the netting. The clips on at the ends of the netting are adjustable such that the length of the strip between the end clips can be increased or decreased to span shampoo bowls of different widths and the slack or tension of the supporting span can be adjusted for supporting the head at various distances above the bottom wall of the shampoo bowl to provide a comfortable angle of the person's neck.

Abstract: The present inventions relates generally to a hospital bed which is secured to a vertical wall structure and which supports a patient. The apparatus includes a support frame, a transfer underlay, means for suspending the transfer underlay and means for adjusting the support frame. Specifically, the support frame has both a vertically and horizontally extending arm portions. The means for adjusting the support frame is connected to the vertical extending arm portion and to the vertical wall structure for lifting and lowering the support frame as well as for rotating the support frame about the axis of the vertically extending arm portion. The means for suspending the transfer underlay suspends the transfer underlay from underneath the horizontally extending arm portion.
Abstract: A playpen structure employing a plurality of improved joints. The playpen structure has four pairs of rails. Rails of each pair are joined together by means of a first joint. Each pair of rails is joined to an adjacent pair of rails by means of a second joint. Each of four columns is attached to a corresponding second joint at a first end and attached to one of four feet at a second end. Each of four bars is attached to a corresponding foot at a first end and attached to a third joint at a second end. The third joint joins the bars together, which extend radially therefrom to form a frame of a floor. An auxiliary foot retractably extends from the third joint for supporting the bars.
