  • Patent number: 5263714
Abstract: A ground level water toy that can be connected to a garden hose and releases water when a player pushes down one preselected control member from a number of control members extending from the toy. The toy has a housing with an inlet that can be coupled to the garden hose, an outlet that can splash the players with water, and an inner fluid passage that provides fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet. The flow of water is controlled by a valve within the housing. The toy has a trigger which is coupled to the valve by a shaft assembly. The trigger normally maintains the shaft assembly in a down position, so that the valve is closed. When the trigger is activated, the shaft moves to an up position, which opens the valve and allows water to flow from the housing outlet. The toy has a plurality of control members that extend from the housing and are adapted to be moved between a first position and a second position.

  • Patent number: 5263716
Abstract: A gaming machine is provided in which the symbols/indicia to be displayed are selected by using a random selection process to generate a random number element for each display position. The process is a two-step selection process. In a first selection process random numbers are chosen from a first table of random numbers, elements of which are mapped directly to reel stopping positions and at least one element of which if generated, causes a second selection step. The second selection step is between a further stopping position, not available in the first selection step, and an alternative stopping position which is preferably also available in the first selection step. The stopping position not available in the first selection step may be associated with a jackpot symbol. The frequency of occurrence of a jackpot symbol can be reduced by this method, and an appropriately high jackpot can therefore be offered.

  • Patent number: 5263721
Abstract: The invention is a feature for indicating which one of two contestants first strikes his assigned last swing-down target on a pop target game. The feature has two swing-down targets, one located on the left side of the game and one located on the right side of the game. Each swing-down target is mounted on a target end of an arm. A pivot end, provided on the arm opposite the target end, pivotally mounts by means of a collar onto a lower horizontal rod of the game. At the beginning of the game, the arms rest against a stop and a wand contacts the notched collar at solid portions located at 3:00 and 9:00 o'clock. When a contestant strikes one of the swing-down targets, the target pivots around the lower horizontal rod away from the stop, pivoting until its arm contacts one end of the wand, either the left or right end depending upon whether the left or right swing-down target was struck. Contact with the wand causes the wand to twist until it encounters the slots which lock the wand.

Abstract: An end of a convoluted metal hose is connected to an adaptor having an end surface which is rounded to complement a contour of an endmost convolution. A straight section of the convoluted hose extends unbonded some distance through a bore in the adaptor, where it is welded in place. This way any flexing is by a section of the wrapping over the rounded end, the wrapping section being remote from any heat damage which may result from the welding. The internal transition between the bores of the hose and adaptor is straight and smooth, free of any crevice.
