Patent number: RE34451Abstract: The invention features a perforating gun, with an external auger, which can be mounted to a tubing string. The auger facilitates removal of the gun after the sand is placed in the perforations. The perforating gun with external auger promotes the clean-up of the debris from the perforations after the gun is shot and facilitates the movement of the gun out of the sand. The sand can be spotted near the perforations without exposure to the formation of any kill fluids. The perforating gun with external auger need not be moved prior to admission of sand into the perforations. The assembly can be used so that preferred fluids, such as stimulating fluids, can be used to circulate the sand until the sand has been spotted adjacent the formation, whereupon the stimulating fluid is squeezed into the formation, leaving the sand in the perforations. The amount of fluid displaced into the formation is minimized and the selection of fluid helps to stimulate the subsequent flow during production.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1992Date of Patent: November 23, 1993Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Joseph F. Donovan, Michael J. Naquin

Patent number: RE34455Abstract: A large-aperture single lens with aspherical surfaces to be used as a pickup lens for video disks, especially for tracking the video disk by directly moving the pickup lens. It is preferable that the single lens is made of plastic material in order to make it compact and light in weight. Both refractive surfaces of the single lens are arranged to have positive refractive powers in order to make the working distance of the lens long. Spherical aberration of the single lens is corrected to the degree that the diameter of the circle of confusion thereof is decided approximately by diffraction of light. Both refractive surfaces of the single lens are formed as aspherical surfaces and the shapes of the refractive surfaces are determined so as to correct aberrations including the sine condition to the required range, by taking the error to be caused at the time of manufacture into consideration.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1988Date of Patent: November 23, 1993Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Norikazu Arai, Shozo Ishiyama, Tadashi Kojima

Patent number: 5263200Abstract: An eye protector having a body with an upper edge, a lower edge and an arcuate portion extending between the upper and lower edges. The body is dimensioned to fit over the eye so that, in doing so, the upper edge is positioned closely adjacent and above the eye while the lower edge is positioned closely adjacent and below the eye. The body is constructed so that the weight of the body between a midline extending across the arcuate section and the top edge of the body is greater than the remainder of the body. In addition, a plurality of spaced ridges extend outwardly from the anterior surface of the arcuate section which form cooling fins to cool the body. Ventilation holes are also formed in opposite lateral sides of the protector for cooling of the eyeball.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1989Date of Patent: November 23, 1993Assignee: Cool Eyes, Inc.Inventor: Anne Miller

Patent number: 5263202Abstract: An apparatus for releasably securing an opening of a garment is described. The apparatus includes a drawstring, a casing with a window, and a cord lock. The casing has an inner tunnel and encloses the opening. The drawstring runs through the tunnel of the casing. The drawstring extends out of the casing at the window. The cord lock is located at the window inside the casing for locking the drawstring from moving into the casing when the cord lock is in a locking state, and for releasing the drawstring to move freely when the cord lock is in a releasing state. As the drawstring is tightened when the cord lock is in the locking state, the cord lock is prevented from travelling with the drawstring thereby allowing the drawstring to slide through the cord lock.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1992Date of Patent: November 23, 1993Assignee: Patagonia, Inc.Inventor: Richard J. Siberell
