  • Patent number: 5333343
Abstract: A double brush mechanism for cleaning the grooves of the striking faces of wood and iron golf clubs comprises a housing having oppositely directed brush openings and forming an actuator slot having locking openings. A brush carrier is movable within the housing and has opposed brushes capable of being selectively projected from the housing for use. A brush carrier actuator is received in movable relation by the carrier and is urged in a locking direction by a compression spring. The actuator incorporates a manual manipulator button that is engaged and moved by the user and incorporates an actuator stem that is movable within the carrier actuator slot. The carrier is lockable at either of three positions along the length of the actuator slot to permit either of the brushes to be selectively exposed for use or locked within the housing for protection.

  • Patent number: 5333344
Abstract: A holder for a cleaning device has a pair of jaws defining a holding space and displaceable between a retaining position relatively close to each other and restricting the space and a releasing position spaced apart relatively far from each other. The cleaning device can be moved into and out of the space when the jaws are in the releasing position but is snugly engaged and held by the jaws when in the space in the retaining position. The jaws are urged by spring force into the releasing position. A pin traversing the jaws has one end bearing on one of the jaws and an opposite end formed with an elongated crosspiece oppositely bearing on the other jaw. The crosspiece is movable between first and second angularly offset positions.

  • Patent number: 5333349
Abstract: Patching grout is forced into a break in the sidewall of a chimney by having the repairing person deposit a quantity of grout on the upper side of a trowel and move the trowel into a position immediately below the break. The trowel is pivot-ably mounted on the end of a linear handle and the trowel is raised into position on the handle. The upper side of the trowel is tilted toward the break by a cord extending from the trowel to the worker simultaneously with the worker pushing the handle upward to thereby mash the grout against the sidewall. Thereby the grout is pushed into the break as the trowel slides upward scraping against the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 5333351
Abstract: To allow compact design of a wiper system equipped with a wiping angle varying assembly which comprises an actuating motor, an eccentric cam member provided in a path of transmitting the movement of the output end of a wiper motor to a wiper arm, and a control unit for activating the actuating motor so as to move the eccentric cam member and thereby change the range of angle of the wiping movement by altering a configuration of a linkage structure provided between the wiper motor and the wiper arm, the control unit is adapted to activate the eccentric cam member with such a timing that the force transmitted through the linkage structure from the wiper motor to the wiper arm tends to assist the force produced by the actuating motor to move the eccentric cam member in the required direction. Thus, the requirement of the power output of the actuating motor can be reduced, and the actuating motor can be substantially reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 5333357
Abstract: An improved carding process utilizing a brush attached to a cylinder carding machine for inhibiting the buildup of napped fibers. Mounted just downstream of the transfer region where carding takes place, the brush is stationary with respect to the revolving cylinders. The brush is disposed across the face of the carding drum with the nylon bristles of the brush engaged in the card-cloth wires of the drum. The bristles continuously brush, straighten and force napped fibers down into the wires of the carding cylinder, which results in a thicker, heavier web of carded fibers and virtually eliminates buildup of fluffy fibers on the carding drum as well as the input drum.

  • Patent number: 5333379
Abstract: Small projections are arranged on a molding surface of at least one of an upper die half and a lower die half constituting a molding die, and a predetermined number of conductor circuits each including small projections are formed on the molding surface by electrically plating. A predetermined number of conductor circuits are formed on the molding surface of other die half in the same manner. Subsequently, the molding surfaces of both the die halves are brought in pressure contact with each other so that the electrically plated layers each including small projections on the molding surface are connected electrically. Thereafter, the hollow space between both the die halves is filled with a predetermined resin, whereby the conductor circuits are reversely secured to the resultant molded product to complete production of a three-dimensional wiring board. After electronic components are assembled on the three-dimensional wiring board, the resin is removed from the molded product by dissolving the resin.

Abstract: A shaft-mounted bushing for connecting a rotating member to a shaft. The bushing includes a frame receiving a hub rotatably mounted therein. The hub includes an opening at one end thereof for receiving a shaft from the one end thereof. The hub includes a tapered portion which converges inwardly from the one end of the hub and toward the other end thereof. A sleeve is mounted into the hub from the one end of the hub and between the tapered portion of the hub and the cylindrical shaft. The outer portion of the sleeve converges inwardly from the one end of the hub and engages the hub. The sleeve presents an inward portion which is coaxial with and parallel to the cylindrical shaft for engaging the shaft in force transmitting relation ship therewith. The bushing assembly is completed by drawing the sleeve into the hub by way of a fastener located at the other end of the hub.

  • Patent number: 5333381
Abstract: A cutter for removing overwraps or tape on products and product packages incorporates first and second wings extending angularly from a body. A cutting point extends a short distance into the angle between the wings, wherein the wings embrace an edge of a product and the blade slices the wrapper along the edge as the user slides the cutter along the edge. The wings are flexible to conform to the angle of the edge, and are integrally molded with the body. Living hinges provided between the wings and the body, or the wings are molded angularly with respect to the body. A cutter is molded as a flat blank and folded. A solid article is molded with a pocket for insertion of the blade. The angle between the wings is less than or equal to 90.degree., allowing it to conform to most standard packages. The reduced angle between the wings and the relatively slight exposure of the blade allows for effective cutting of the wrapper without scarring the package or injuring the user.

  • Patent number: 5333386
Abstract: A computer-operated coordinate-measurement machine has two length-measurement systems arranged in parallel for measuring the longitudinal displacement of a probe carried by the portal (3-5) of the machine, and these two length-measurement systems (13, 14) may belong to different precision classes. A computer-associated device (16) forms an absolute position-measurement value (Ym) from length-measurement signals of the more precise measurement system (13) and said device forms a dynamic measurement or instantaneous deviation value (Ys-Ym) from the difference between length-measurement signals of the respective systems (13, 14). The computer of the machine calculates the effective instantaneous position (Ym+.DELTA.y) of the probe (9a, b, c) borne by the portal (3-5), using the instantaneous value of the transverse position of the probe on the portal, in conjunction with the absolute measurement value (Ym) and the dynamic measurement value (Ys-Ym).

At the intersection of these bars is a socket for one of a plurality of different colored marking pens. A cover for the box comprises a framed window with flanges for holding a translucent paper on the underside of the window so that when the cover is closed the marker pen contacts the paper and rotation of the knobs causes the pen to draw lines on the paper, which lines can be viewed through the window. The translucent paper can be changed for retaining the drawing made thereon, and a magazine for different colored pens is provided in the base of the box.
