Abstract: A new variety of shrub rose suitable for garden decoration, having flowers of striped orange and yellow coloration.

Abstract: A new and distinct variety of high yielding dessert pear is provided which originated as a cross between the Doyenne Du Comice variety (non-patented in the United States) and the Conference variety (non-patented in the United States). The fruit is elongated and assumes an attractive yellow skin coloration with a slight pink overcolor at those areas exposed to the sun. Trees of the new variety normally come into bearing earlier than those of the Conference variety under growing conditions encountered in the United Kingdom. The russet of the fruit is slight when compared to that of the Conference variety and tends to be distributed over the whole fruit. The fruit of the new variety unlike that of the Conference variety retains a slight crispness when fully ripe and possesses a flavor that is fuller and more aromatic. The picking season for the fruit is later than for the Conference variety. The leaves exhibit an impressive dark green coloration.

Abstract: The cultivar of the present invention, designated `Co-op 30`, is a new and distinct cultivar of apple Tree (Malus.times.domestica Borkh.). It was discovered in October of 1978 at West Lafayette, Ind., in the course of an attempt to develop improved apple cultivars with high fruit quality and resistance to Venturia inaequalis (Cke.) Wint., the causal agent of the scab disease of apple. The tree is a seedling of known parentage planted in May of 1972 in the CL Block of the apple breeding orchard on the old Clark Farm tract of the Purdue Horticulture Research Farm, West Lafayette, Ind. In the above mentioned block, its position was Row 4, Tree 38, having the designation PRI 2693-1 in the breeding records.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of impatiens plant named Pinky Gini, characterized by its very small dark green leaves and small flowers, with the flowers standing well above the leaves, red-purple flower color with a white center eye; excellent self-branching and compact growth habit, and its very early flowering.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of geranium named Merisweet particularly characterized by the combined features of semi-double flowers that are pale lilac with a dark center on the upper face and white on the lower face, elliptic flower buds, early and uniform flowering, inflorescences with big open flowers; relatively long flower pedicels which are green in color; short and thick and flower stems that extend above the plant; compact growth habit; green foliage with a light zone on the upper side, and leaf margins that are double crenated and slightly wavy.

Abstract: An Anthurium plant named Bubble Gum characterized by its flat rounded pink spathes which are held above the foliage, compact branched habit, and wide, leathery, dark green, glossy leaves.

Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid of mint plant (Dulcia Citreus), the plant forms an attractive mound of leaves, and the stems of the plant tend to develop side-branching, with the tips of the stems providing multitudinous flowering of spaced clusters of lavender color blossoms, which gradually bloom outwardly towards the tip of each stem during their growing season; the leaves exhibit a dark green color, are heart shaped, and are typical labiatae, in opposing position.

Abstract: A jig adapted for use with a conventional molder-planer for cutting work on curved wood sections. For this purpose, the present invention includes a base with the jig mounted thereon. The base bolts onto the table of the molder-planer so that the jig is positioned directly under the molder-planer cutter head. The jig is comprised of a set of two guide wheels permanently mounted in a side-by-side relationship on one side of the plate, and two adjustably mounted pneumatic cylinders, each with a guide wheel bolted to the end of the piston rod, mounted opposite to the permanent guide wheels.

Abstract: A water (and other moisture) resistant sock looks and feels like a regular sock but actually has a water resistant or water proof layer between two non water resistant or non water proof layers. The layers are preferably spaced slightly apart from each other by means of small spacers to better allow the sock to breathe.

Abstract: A device for lowering a toilet seat when the toilet is flushed comprises a trip wire attached at one of its ends to the toilet flush crank arm outside the toilet tank and leading through guide means to a point near the edge of the toilet seat. The trip wire is guided by guide means along the front of the tank from the crank arm to a point near the toilet seat in its upright position where the guide means turns the other end of the wire from its path along the front of the tank towards the toilet seat. When the crank arm is pushed down to flush the toilet, the wire is pushed through the guide means and the other end of the wire pushes the toilet seat forward to an unstable position from which the seat drops to its seating position on the toilet bowl.

Abstract: A bath tub includes a board and a base disposed in the bottom portion for supporting the bath tub. The base includes a recess formed in the middle portion for receiving the board and a number of lugs extended inward of the recess for engaging with the board so as to retain the board in the base. The base includes a groove formed in the peripheral portion, the bath tub includes a flange extended from the upper peripheral portion, and one or more plates include a number of hooks for engaging with the groove and the flange such that the plates may form the wall member of the bath tub.

Abstract: A crib having a headboard, a foot board, and opposite side gates surrounding a horizontal mattress support platform adjustably attached to the headboard and foot board and being selectively positionable at various levels. One of the side gates is removable to facilitate placement of the child crib alongside a parents' bed such that the mattresses on the bed and the crib are disposed in adjacent, co-planar relation. An apron attached to the mattress support platform is extendable for insertion in sandwiched relation between the mattress and a mattress support of the parents' bed, effectively interconnecting the crib and bed while preventing objects such as baby bottles from falling therebetween. A wheel assembly and brake structure associated therewith may be added so that movement of the crib may be selectively accomplished while inadvertent movement or travel of the crib is prevented.

Abstract: A bed comprising a base having an internal area into which a heat source, in the form of a hot water pipe system is installed, and mineral powder which together with the heat source, fills the internal area of the base and provides a top sleeping surface for the bed. When heated the bed emits far infrared rays which can be absorbed into the human body during sleep. It is thought that a bed of this type would have various therapeutic uses.

Abstract: A therapeutic mattress overlay for supporting a recumbent human body so as to redistribute body weight away from prominent areas of the human body and also to support selected anatomical body portions, e.g., the lower extremities, of the recumbent human body has a substantially planer resilient member having top and bottom surfaces and first and second edges. Reinforcements extend from proximate the first edge to proximate the second edge of the planer resilient mender such that a patient may be rotated by grasping the reinforcements proximate the first edge of the resilient member and lifting the first edge thereof so as to cause the patient to roll toward the second edge thereof. The reinforcements prevent damage to the resilient member during lifting of the first edge. The pad is formed to have at least one area of less resistance thereon which corresponds to protruding portion(s) of a human body.

Abstract: A configuration for a pillowcase for use in covering of a conventional bed sleeping pillow wherein the pillowcase includes an upper planar member having two lateral edges and two longitudinal edges and a lower planar member also have two lateral and two longitudinal edges. The two planar members are integrally formed along the bottom edge therebetween and are attached along the side edges. The two remaining longitudinal edges define an access opening for allowing placement and removal of a pillow extending therethrough. This design further includes a closing flap integrally formed with respect to the longitudinal edge of the upper planar member and includes a hook and loop fastening means thereon detachably securable with a mated hook and loop fastening device positioned on the lower planar member such that the flap extends across the pillow access opening for retaining of the pillow firmly therein.

Abstract: A bicycle tire scraper for removing debris from a bicycle tire. The scraper includes a brush movably attached to a brush arm which selectively engages the brush with the tire. A collar is attachable to the bicycle frame and supports the brush arm in a pivotally fixed position relative to the frame. Upon a pivotal displacement of the brush arm, the brush engages the tire. Upon release of the brush arm, a return spring returns the brush arm to an initial position away from the tire and, in turn, returns the brush to a position out of engagement with the tire. A brush arm stop limits the return of the brush arm to the initial position. The brush arm may be depressed either directly via a lever arm extending from the brush arm or indirectly via a cable displacable by a remote lever arm. A brush stop limits the radial movement of said brush to ensure adequate surface contact between the brush and the circumference of the tire.

Gears connected to the pivot shaft and to the arm provide reversal of the angle of inclination when rotation of the pivot shaft reverses.

A second, outer annular space is defined between the shell and the dirty liquid tube, a lower end of which is spaced above the bottom of the shell. A dirty liquid and air suction pipe extends through the shell and into upper regions of the inner annular space.
