Abstract: A method of hardening and flattening a viscous coupling plate generally combining a heat treatment process followed by roller leveling is disclosed. The heat treatment process produces an epsilon iron nitride surface layer of the desired hardness on the plate. Subsequent to the heat treatment, the plates are passed through a series of leveling rolls to produce a sufficiently flat plate. The flat rolling process can incorporate a single pass or multiple passes through the leveling rolls. The method of the present invention eliminates any distortion in the plates and brings them within any required flatness specifications, as well as producing viscous coupling plates that exhibit improved resistance to permanent deformation under operating conditions.

Abstract: Detergent compositions comprise oleoyl sarcosinate and polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactants which, together, provide compositions with improved cleaning performance and good solubility. Thus, oleoyl sarcosinate is combined with C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 N-methyl glucamide and builders, enzymes and other detersive ingredients to provide a laundry detergent. Use of this mixture of surfactants in dishwashing detergents is also described.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, which comprises a transparent support having thereon a dye layer, a hydrophobic polymer layer and at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the dye layer containing one or more specified dyes dispersed in the form of fine solid particles is provided between the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and the support, the hydrophilic colloid coating weight of the dye layer is 0.5 g/m.sup.2 or less, and a hydrophobic polymer layer is provided between the dye layer and the support.
Abstract: A silver halide photographic material comprising a support having provided thereon one or more hydrophilic colloid layers, at least one layer of which is a silver halide emulsion layer comprising a silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains, wherein the silver halide grains contained in the at least one silver halide emulsion layer have a silver iodide content of not more than 0.5 mol %, the melting time of the silver halide photographic material is at least 30 minutes, and the total thickness of constituent hydrophilic colloid layers per each side of the support having thereon the at least one silver halide emulsion layer is less than 3.8 .mu.m.
Abstract: A new and almost continuously and profusely blooming rose plant, of the miniature class, having conspicuous, open-faced flowers with petals gently rounded in shape but having a minute point on the centerline; such petals of deep pink coloring with a white margin on the outer edge; the long lasting flowers being pleasantly highlighted by their placement over healthy and deep green foliage on a bushy, upright, vigorously growing plant.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of rose plant of the miniature class is provided which abundantly forms attractive double Chinese Yellow blossoms which are stable and will retain their coloration upon the passage of time. The plant is bushy and dense with considerable branching. The blossoms possess a light fragrance. The plant is well adapted to pot forcing under greenhouse growing conditions, and grows well on its own roots. Also, the plant can be grown as attractive ornamentation in the landscape.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Hybrid Tea rose plant is provided which abuntly forms attractive double flowrs which are medium red in coloration. Such flowers are long lasting and comprise petals which detach cleanly. The plant exhibits an upright to bushy growth habit, forms very vigorous vegetation, and is well suited for greenhouse forcing for cut flower production. Additionally, the plant is resistant to diseases when grown under greenhouse conditions.

Abstract: An actuator (1) of a diaphragm type which comprises an actuator case (2,3), a diaphragm (5) housed in the actuator case, a diaphragm plate (4) attached to the diaphragm for moving together with the diaphragm according to introduction of negative or atmospheric pressure into a negative pressure chamber (7) formed between the diaphragm and the actuator case (2) so as to actuate a device connected to the diaphragm plate. The diaphragm is formed with one or both of an annular rib (5e) having a thick-walled section and an annular expansive portion (5d) having a curved section. Therefore, the diaphragm is hard to be disengaged from the diaphragm plate even if an immoderate force is applied on the diaphragm.
