  • Patent number: 5495661
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically equipping printed circuit boards with components includes at least two equipping heads arranged stationarily at a distance from one another. A printed circuit board displacement apparatus moves corresponding printed circuit boards simultaneously into corresponding equipping positions relative to the equipping heads. Each equipping head is actuated when the printed circuit board allocated to that equipping head is moved into the corresponding equipping position. After the equipping program has been executed, the printed circuit boards are clocked for work by one equipping head division so that an unequipped printed circuit board is supplied to the first equipping head in the conveying direction and a completely equipped printed circuit board is discharged from the last equipping head. This spatially separate, serial equipping of the printed circuit boards enables the equipping heads to be reloaded when they are not actively engaged in executing an equipping event.

  • Patent number: 5495662
Abstract: A cable guide for a terminal crimping apparatus includes a guide member held between support plates in a clamped state such that one end of the guide member is turnably supported while the other end of the guide member is normally biased in the upward direction by the resilient force of a coil spring. A cable is inserted through a nozzle and a slit formed through the fore end part of a restricting piece. As an arm is turned, the nozzle and the restricting piece are displaced toward a cable guide together with the arm. Thus, the cable is displaced to an optimum cable feeding position relative to an applicator while slidably moving along the upper surface of the guide member. Since the plate-shaped guide member serves to properly guide the displacement of the cable, the terminal is always securely crimped and the cable is prevented from being undesirably deformed.

  • Patent number: 5495687
Abstract: A firearm magazine has a cartridge pushing means including a follower, an auxiliary follower, a relatively short main spring, and a relatively short auxiliary spring; as opposed to the conventional firearm magazine having one follower and one relatively long spring. If the invented firearm magazine and the conventional firearm magazine have the same size and both are fully loaded, all the springs--short ones and long one--are compressed to the same length, and it is obvious that the spring tension for the short spring is much less than the same for the long one, and accordingly the invented firearm magazine can stay fully loaded much longer than the conventional one, without losing restoring force of the springs.

  • Patent number: 5495695
Abstract: An underground storage system for hazardous liquids having an inner fluid storage tank surrounded by a larger outer containment vault with sufficient space between to allow for visual inspection of the tank. The inner tank has a rectangular parallelepiped shape and is positioned within an outer rectangular parallelepiped vault in a manner leaving a larger clearance space between two adjacent tank sides and facing vault walls than between the opposite adjacent two sides and walls. Additionally, a vertical clearance exists between the tank and vault. The vault is reinforced concrete precast in sections for ease of transport and assembly on-site. The vault has a bottom pan-shaped unit with one or more square tubular collar units on top and terminates in an upper cover. The cover includes one or more man-way apertures enabling a technician to enter the vault and inspect the tank for leaks.
