Abstract: A one-piece stackable shipping container with integral dunnage has a bottom, two pairs of opposite side walls, and a pair of cushioning parts. One pair of opposite side walls and the pair of cushioning parts integral therewith are made up by folding a first pair of pieces extending from one pair of opposite edges of the bottom. Another pair of opposite side walls and strips forming flaps to fasten the container are provided by folding a second pair of pieces extending from another pair of opposite edges of the bottom. Folding the first pair of pieces into a geometrical body, as well as fastening the container with the strips imparts the necessary stiffness to the container structure as a whole.

Abstract: Containers containing a mixture of acceptable and unacceptable bottles are conveyed to a removal station in the path of movement of a carrier head that has at least one group of gripping elements that are adapted to selectively grip and remove acceptable bottles and at least another group of gripping elements that are adapted to grip and remove unacceptable bottles. In one implementation, the carrier head picks up the acceptable bottles from incoming containers and simultaneously picks up unacceptable bottles from containers from which acceptable bottles have been removed and transfers the respective groups of bottles to individual outfeed conveyors.

Abstract: First, second and third linear conveyors are arranged in alignment with each other in the stated order. Bottles to be inspected are conveyed standing on their bottoms on the first linear conveyor through an inspection station followed by an ejector for those bottles which fail to match specified characteristics of an acceptable bottle model. The second conveyor has spaced apart parallel translating conveyor belts for frictionally gripping the bottles by their bodies between them to make their mouth ends and bottoms clear for inspection. The bottle discharge end region of the first conveyor and the bottle inlet end region overlap to achieve an overall shorter machine. The second conveyor has a bottle discharge region that overlaps the bottle inlet end region of the third conveyor to achieve a shorter machine.

Abstract: In order to sort ore from associated mineral material, a method and apparatus of classifying an object is provided, the method including feeding the object along a feed path, irradiating the object with infra-red radiation of a first wavelength, the radiation of the first wavelength being focussed onto an irradiation zone intersecting the feed path, the irradiation zone having a length in the vertical plane substantially greater than its width in the vertical plane. The intensity of radiation emitted by the object at at least one second wavelength different from the first wavelength is examined, the second wavelength being characteristic of a first class of object or the ore to be sorted from the mineral, whereby the classification of the object may be derived.

Abstract: A display rack having interconnecting sides, back and bottom. The back has a plurality of spaced slots in vertically and horizontally aligned rows. Trays are provided which connect to the back and the side walls. The same slots can be used to hold the trays in position or support fixtures having products suspended therefrom.

Abstract: A gravity feed merchandising apparatus having a sloped shelf, a vertical front wall and a slidable cassette for pushing merchandise on the shelf towards the front wall. A plurality of dividers divide the shelf into compartments, each one of which is provided with a cassette into which a portion of the merchandise is placed. The combined weight of the cassette and the merchandise contained therein forces the remainder of the merchandise to the front of the shelf adjacent the from wall. The lower edge of the front wall of the cassette has a rim which contacts the merchandise to the front thereof.

Abstract: An adjustable wrench-rack comprises a hanging body and two retaining bodies. The hanging body is provided with a plurality of locking holes. Each of the two retaining bodies is provided on a rear surface thereof with a plurality of threaded holes for fastening the retaining body to the hanging body by bolts engageable with the threaded holes and the locking holes. The two retaining bodies are provided respectively on a front surface thereof with a plurality of retaining slots in which the ring wrench, the double-ended wrench and the combination wrench are held securely. The retaining slots are provided respectively with an opening and a hooked body serving to prevent the wrench from slipping out of the retaining slot in which it is held.

Abstract: A pivoting door hinge held catchall rack including a rod which extends vertically along a plurality of door hinges and which is held by the pins of the door hinges threaded through flanges on either end of the rod and/or through screw-eye type devices which are easily threaded into a slot in back of the rod and therefore can be readily aligned with the tops of the hinges. From the rod are extended, appended, fixed or attached a plurality of catchall devices, shapes and forms.

Abstract: An apparatus for storing articles includes a rack, structure for supporting the rack, structure for rotatably connecting the rack to the structure for supporting so that the rack can rotate from a first stable position described by a horizontal plane to a second stable position described by a vertical plane, structure for fixedly holding the rack when the rack is in the first stable position; and structure for fixedly holding the rack when the rack is in the second stable position.

Abstract: An improved display rack (10) which is supported by existing facilities such as existing shelving (44), an existing suspended ceiling (50) or the floor (48). The improved display rack (20) provides a rotatable display unit (20) and a securing assembly (36) for securing the improved display rack (10) to the existing facilities. The improved display rack (10) may be used to display such things as ceiling fan pulls, postcards, greeting cards, key chains, and comic books. The improved display rack (10) can provide a hinge (70) such that the rotatable display unit (20) can be pivoted away from the existing facility.

Abstract: A pattern is provided on a substrate by providing the substrate with at least two layers of material thereon and providing a layer of dry imaging polymer compositions thereon. The layer of the dry imaging polymer composition is laser ablated to provide the desired personality pattern. The top exposed portion of at least the top layer is removed and the desired select pattern is laser ablated. The exposed portions of said first layer is removed and the pattern is completed through the other layers of material to thereby expose the substrate surface, without the substrate surface being subjected to laser ablating to thereby provide the desired pattern on the substrate.

Abstract: Multilayer rigid flex printed circuits are fabricated from a novel basestock composite comprising two copper conducting sheets, bonded to insulator layers comprised of fiberglass sheets impregnated with an adhesive such as epoxy, wherein the insulator layers are both affixed to Kapton layers wherein said Kapton layers are not coextensive with the borders of the insulator layers. The basestock composite can then be imaged and etched on the conductor layers to form conductor patterns, laminated or coated with a coverlay of dielectric material, and the basestock can be cut at a point internal to its borders and into the Kapton layers thereby separating two imaged and etched conductor layers.

Abstract: A process for dry etching a copper containing film formed on a substrate is performed by using an etching gas while heating at a temperature below 200.degree. C. The etching gas is selectable from the group consisting of a mixed gas of a N containing gas, an O containing gas, a N and O containing gas, or a mixed gas of a N containing gas, an O containing gas and a F containing gas, or a mixed gas of a N and O containing gas and a F containing gas. By this etching gas, Cu(NO.sub.3).sub.2 is formed to be sublimed.

Abstract: An interlocking male member is provided in a lower end portion of each side member. The interlocking male member has a projection extending beyond an outer surface of said side member and a bulge on its vertical wall which projects inwardly away from the projection. An interlocking female member is provided on an periphery of a bottom member to extend along at least portions thereof which correspond in position to the male members of the side members. The female member has a locking hole in which the projection of the male member is locked, and a recessed portion in which the bulges are locked. The side members are mounted to the bottom member in an upright position, by fitting the male members in the female member, while tiling the side members with respect to the bottom member, so that the projections are locked in the locking holes, and then rotating the side members toward the upright position so that the bulges are locked in the recessed portions.

Abstract: A hole plug for closing an opening in a panel member comprises a rigid, disk-like main body for positioning in overlying relationship with the opening. Resilient retaining legs are carried by the main body for extending through the opening and engaging the edges thereof for maintaining the main body in the overlying relationship. A mass of heat expandable resilient material is carried by the main body at a location adjacent the retaining legs. The heat expandable resilient material is selected so as to be capable of being expanded through the application of heat to permanently extend from the main body a distance greater than the legs to thereby act as a shield to prevent undesired contact between the legs and associated structure.

Abstract: A tamper evident dual snap on cap and spout for a plastic bottle neck has a removable first closure having an upper skirt and an upstanding spout with an inwardly spaced sealing flange. A tear skirt joined to the lower most edge of the upper skirt with a circumferential tear line and depending tab extending therefrom. A second closure has an annular band engageable on a portion of the bottle neck, an inwardly spaced sealing flange and a pour spout engageable with the upstanding spout and inwardly spaced sealing flange of the first closure. Removal of the tear skirt allows removal of the first closure and access to the closure's pour spout.

Abstract: A closure device for a container having an opening sealed with a membrane comprises: a cap adapted to engage the opening of the container for closing same and comprising a first cylindrical wall connected to one side of a circular base; and a membrane-penetrating element comprising a second cylindrical wall connected to the reverse side of the circular base and, within the second cylindrical wall, means for penetrating a membrane when the element is pressed into contact with the opening of a container sealed with the membrane, the means comprising a plurality of arciform cutters that are connected to the base and are coaxial with and in close proximity to the inner surface of the second cylindrical wall, the plurality of arciform cutters together comprising a total of at least 300 degrees.

Abstract: A vinyl lined tank has a manway opening formed of a vertical portion and a horizontal flange, with a vertical pathway, open at the bottom, inside the vertical portion that communicates with a conduit in the flange or in the vertical portion so that a vacuum can be maintained within the pathway that prevents the collapse of the liner when the tank is empty.

Abstract: A modular container apparatus for storing and transporting articles, including first and second inner shell members positionable in opposed relation to one another to enclose a storage article volume. First and second outer shell members nestingly receive and are affixed to the first and second inner shell members, respectively. The container also includes interchangeable article positioning members, associated with at least one of the first and second inner shell members, and releasably retained therewithin, for receiving and retaining the articles to be stored and transported.

Abstract: Multi-walled panel-like structure having an upper and lower wall integrally bonded to support ribs located therein between with closed cell foam being placed in the interstitial spaces between the walls and ribs. Improved strength is provided by this apparatus and method of construction. The invention is particularly suited for retrofitting single wall tanks and tank bottoms to be double walled tanks and tank bottoms.

Abstract: A beverage can holder having a flat top member with a protrusion having groove for engaging the top rim of a beverage can, a central elongated body having a bulbous upper section and a flat lower section to provide a grip conformable to the user's hand, and a base member with a flat bottom and first and second curving backs for engagement with the bottom and side of the beverage can. The beverage can holder is releasably attached to the beverage can such that the beverage can is held at an angle to a flat surface. The novel method of attachment to a beverage can, and the novel shape of the beverage can holder allows the user to enjoy a beverage from a can as if the user was drinking from a stein or mug.

Abstract: A plastic recyclable container including a container body having a bottom and a continuous sidewall. A pair of ears are positioned on the sidewall and include opposed shaped openings. A plastic handle has a connector assembly at each end including a pair of inwardly directed projections received by the openings. The projections include holding members positioned within the ears. The cross-section of the projections is shaped complementary with the ear openings ensuring that the handle can be moved to different predetermined positions.

Abstract: In a method of operating a vending machine, a glass container is dispensed with its vertical axis tilted in the vending machine in response to the selective generation of a preselected vending signal. The vertical axis is predeterminately altered into a generally vertically extending position in the vending machine, and the glass container is dropped base portion first in a generally vertical free fall path of the vending machine with the vertical axis of the glass container disposed in its vertical extending position. A vending machine is also disclosed.

Abstract: A vending machine for selling card-like articles having a coin insert located off-center in the front of the vending machine and a handle for advancing card-like article for output. An output maybe provided on the front side of the vending machine. A display panel is provided for showing a display having a depiction or description of the card-like article. Optionally a ceiling cover may be provide which can be slid back for removal and insertion of the display in the vending machine.

Abstract: A storage rod for temporarily supporting liners for a container is mounted by one end of the rod to the bottom side of a wall having a slot for passing the liners through the wall from the bottom side to the top side of the wall. The attachment to the wall supports the rod with the other end of the rod unsupported for receiving the liners. The end of the rod receiving the liners is unobstructed, for access to the rod coaxially with the rod by a roll of liners for sliding them on the rod. A handle is at one end of the slot and generally normal to the slot to avoid uncontrolled twist of an operator's fingers when handling the assembly.

Abstract: A liquid feed apparatus which returns liquid to a tank by emptying a common pipe to prevent mixing of liquids. The liquid feed apparatus further does not display the amount of liquid in the feed pipe at the beginning of the liquid feed from the nozzle to prevent any error in liquid feed amount.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a frozen product utilizes a collapsible container which is prefilled with the product. The container is removably inserted within a housing defining a thermally insulated chamber and having a refrigeration system for cooling the chamber, and a pointed tubular member adapted to puncture the container when it is disposed in the chamber. To dispense the product, a powered member pushes upon the container toward the pointed tubular member to force the frozen product out through the opening and through the tubular member. A shut-off valve is coupled with the tubular member for selectively preventing the frozen product from being dispensed.

Abstract: A hygienic toothpaste dispenser for selectively distributing toothpaste onto a toothbrush from one of a plurality tubes oriented so as to form a stand for a toothpaste container shaped as a cylinder, the tubes being capped with snap type covers. The tubes have indicia thereon to identify with a specific user.

Abstract: The product dispenser (1) comprises a container (4) inside which is located a bag (2) made from a deformable plastic compound; a base (7) carrying the dispensing member (8) is mechanically held with respect to the container (4), a bottom end of the bag (2) being welded along a band (33). The bag (2) is formed from a sheath obtained by welding, along at least one longitudinal band (32), the longitudinal edges of a strip. The longitudinal band of weld (32) welds an inner face of a longitudinal edge of the strip, from which the bag (2) is formed, to the inner face of the other longitudinal edge of the strip situated on the same side of the strip as the previous face. The base (7) includes a weld surface (10), and the welded assembly of the two longitudinal edges of the strip is folded back against the outer surface of the sheath and welded in this position by the weld for welding the end of the bag (2) onto the weld surface (10) of the base.

Abstract: The accumulator regulates changes in the back pressure of an ink-jet pen reservoir so that ink does not leak from the pen print head and so that the print head is able to completely empty the reservoir of ink. The accumulator includes a flexible bag that is mounted to a flat curved spring. The elasticity of the spring tends to contract the bag as the bag expands in response to back pressure reduction in the reservoir.

Abstract: An improved manually actuated pump is disclosed for dispensing a volume of liquid from a container comprising a body having a cylindrical body surface. A piston is disposed within the body for slidably sealing with the cylindrical body surface to define a pump chamber with at least a portion of the piston being disposed external to the body defining a piston stem having a stem passage extending therethrough. A spring biases the piston into an extended position. An induction tube is received within a duct conduit for providing fluid communication between the liquid within the container and the pump chamber. A first one-way valve enables the flow of the liquid only from the container into the pump chamber whereas a second one-way valve enables the flow of the liquid only from the pump chamber into the stem passage.

Abstract: An acoustic ceiling patch or textured material in the form of a sprayable composition including a base, a filler and a binder as well as a propellant or carrier storable and dispensable from a pressurized dispenser having a delivery nozzle and a removable dispensing tube. An aerosol system with a spray nozzle is included on the container for selective discharge of the textured material onto a prepared patch area which may be on a drywall or support panel so as to match and blend with the surrounding acoustic ceiling surface area in order to provide a continuous and unbroken coextensive surface texture of mechanically and visually matched material. A distribution straw is included for selectively conducting the textured material in a desired direction while holding the dispenser upright.

Abstract: A cap for a bottle containing a carbonated beverage provides a dispensing mechanism that prevents carbonation gas from escaping from the bottle as the beverage is being dispensed. The cap has a housing with a first end adapted to mate with a neck of the bottle and an opening out of which beverage to be dispensed flows. A valve is mounted in the housing having a first end coupled in fluid communication with the bottle when the cap is on the bottle and a second end coupled in fluid communication to an outlet in the housing. A manually operated actuator is coupled to the valve for opening and closing the valve.

Abstract: A thumb actuated flexible tube and closure system comprising a flexible plastic tube having a finish for dispensing a product when the tube is in an inverted position. The finish has an integral transverse wall, an integral post extending upwardly from the transverse wall and an integral cylindrical wall extending upwardly from said transverse wall. The transverse wall has at least one opening therethrough. An inner closure is provided and has a base wall and integral spaced inner and outer walls defining an annular space for receiving the finish of the plastic tube. At least one of the walls has threads thereon for rotatably engaging the finish. The base wall of the inner closure has a portion sealingly engaging the post on the finish such that rotation of the inner closure moves said sealing portion into and out of engagement with said post. An overcap closure is provided and has a base wall with an opening aligned with the sealing portion of said closure.

Abstract: A hanger for a pre-tied knotted necktie assembly is disclosed in which the assembly includes a necktie, a knot support to form a necktie knot, a clip for removably mounting the necktie assembly onto the neckband of a shirt collar, and a positioning post extending through the necktie knot. The hanger includes an upper hook portion, a central body portion, and a lower stem portion. The stem portion has an opening therethrough adapted to fit over the post of the necktie assembly whereby a retaining nut, when placed over the post with the stem portion positioned between the necktie knot and the nut, will securely maintain the necktie assembly on the hanger. Removal of the necktie assembly from the hanger is achieved by severing the stem portion from the body portion of the hanger.

The girth strap assemblies include fasteners which can lengthen or shorten the girth straps to fit containers of various diameters. Abstract: The present invention provides a fisherman's bait and tackle box which is compact and contoured to comfortably fit about the fisherman's waist when attached to a belt worn by the fisherman. The wearable box of the present invention organizes and provides easy access to fishing supplies and accessories, thereby eliminating the time consuming problem of searching through a conventional tackle box or vest, especially when re-rigging a broken leader while the fisherman remains wading in the water. A plurality of separate compartments neatly organize accessories such as fishing leader, bait, fishing lures, split-shot, and fishing hooks, for instance. The fishing leader is fed through a hole in the front of the present invention and can be cut at a desired length by a cutter located under the leader. Pushing a spring-tensioned dispenser button dispenses a single split shot. A rod holder is mounted on the box to permit both hands to be free to re-rig a broken leader.

Abstract: A hand gun is completely concealed within a gun carrying pack. The pack is mounted on a wearer by a belt around the wearer's waist. The pack has a pouch, concealed behind an additional belt strap and clip, for carrying a hand gun. The pouch has front and rear walls. The front wall is permanently attached to the rear wall at the bottom and on one side, but releasably attached by two zippers located on a zipper track at the top and on the other side. The pouch completely conceals a hand gun carried within the pouch. The additional belt strap and clip are connected across the zipper track at the top corner between the releasably attached top and side. By unclipping the additional belt strap and clip, a wearer can pull open the zippers to open the pouch to access the hand gun carried within.

Abstract: Article retaining devices for advantageous utilization in detachable combination with a lumbar support belt. In one embodiment, a pouch includes straps secured thereto and extending about the inner side of the lumbar support belt and cooperating near their free ends with cooperating fastening means on the pouch's front side for releasably fastening the strap ends thereto. Separate implement holders may be removably secured to the lumbar support belt as well as to the pouch.

Abstract: A bicycle carrier is adapted to be mounted on the rear of a vehicle. The carrier comprises first and second mounting members and a pair of horizontally spaced bicycle supporting arms connected to the mounting members. The mounting members are pivotably connected for relative rotation about a horizontal pivot axis between a plurality of adjusted positions. The carrier includes indicia corresponding to each of the adjusted positions of the mounting members, so that a user can quickly return the carrier to the same adjusted position. The supporting arms carry cradles formed of an elastic material for receiving a bicycle. Each cradle includes a curved supporting surface for receiving a bar of the bicycle frame, and an integral strap which can be extended over the bar to retain the bar within the cradle. An anti-sway bar hangs downwardly from at least one of the supporting arms for resisting swinging movement of a bicycle.

Abstract: An auto trunk organizer comprising a cabinet member, a storage member, and mechanism for detachably securing the storage member to the cabinet member. The cabinet member has an outer housing enclosing an interior cavity, a plurality of draw members having draw latching mechanisms, and at least one pivoting door member having a latching mechanism. The storage member is portable and includes multiple, separate compartments suitable for storing documents. The storage member preferably includes an accordion type file folder. The attachment mechanism is connected between the cabinet member and the storage member. The attachment mechanism allows the storage member to be detachably secured to the cabinet member. Any attachment mechanism that will allow the storage member to be detachably secured to the cabinet member may be used. The attachment mechanism preferably includes either, or both, a hook-and-pile type fastener or a snap type fastener.
