Patent number: 5542429Abstract: Heart/brain disease is non-invasively, accurately diagnosed at an early stage. A plurality of functions descriptive of the patient are mathematically determined. A set of indices for each function is established in advance. Each index has two states indicative of the patient's condition. An integrated pattern of the states of the indices from a plurality of the functions is generated and matched against a stored collection of index patterns whose diagnosis is known. The diagnosis is optimized with the aid of weighting factors for such parameters as patient's age and medical history. In addition, the diagnosis is also checked doctors' opinion.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1994Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Inventor: Genquan Feng

Patent number: 5542468Abstract: A dissipator hook-up apparatus has a metal pressing board and a metal hook-up board. The two sides of the metal pressing board stretch upward and formed an elastic tilt angle. On one upward-tilting side of the metal pressing board is bent downward and form an opening, while the other side of the metal pressing board has separate holes. The top end of the metal hook-up board forms a flat surface where force is applied when hooking up with the ZIF socket. On the two sides of the metal hook-up board are protrusions separately to be inserted into the holes of the metal pressing board. On the bottom of the metal hook-up board there is an opening to be hooked by the hook on the side of the ZIF socket. Thus, using the upward elasticity of the metal pressing board, the dissipator board and the CPU can be fixed together tightly and achieve ventilation.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1995Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Inventor: Chuen-Sheng Lin

Patent number: 5542473Abstract: A resilient sealing element is adapted for connection to a well tool, with an integral anchoring device, such as a slip, embedded therein. When compressive forces are applied thereto the sealing element compresses and moves its outside diameter and the slip into sealable engagement with the inside wall of a well tubing or casing. Releasing the sealing and anchoring element is accomplished by applying tension to a wire which passes longitudinally therethrough to cause retraction of the slip.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1995Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Inventor: Ronald E. Patent number: 5542474Abstract: The invention is a foam method for improving conformance during a steam flood or carbon dioxide flood in a subterranean, oil-containing formation penetrated by at least one injection well and at least one production well. In a steam flood oil recovery process, sweep efficiency is improved by injecting steam until steam breakthrough occurs at the production well after which a mixture of steam, a noncondensible gas, and an aqueous surfactant-polypeptide solution is injected into the formation. The aqueous surfactant-polypeptide solution forms a stable foam with the formation oil at formation conditions that reduce the permeability of the highly permeable steam swept zones thereby diverting the steam to other portions of the formation containing unswept oil. The polypeptide is used as a partial substitute for the surfactant to improve the cost of the foam-forming mixture without reducing its effectiveness in increasing sweep efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1995Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventors: Nizar F. Patent number: 5542475Abstract: The method and apparatus includes lowering a blanking plug assembly into the bore of an oilfield tubular member and inserting a sealing assembly on the blanking plug assembly into the seal bore of the tubular member without sealingly engaging the seal bore. A support shoulder on the blanking plug assembly lands on the landing shoulder of the oilfield tubular member. Wireline jars jar down on the lock sleeve of the blanking plug assembly to shift dog members radially outward into latching grooves in the oilfield tubular member. The lock sleeve then locks the dog members into the latching grooves. The wireline jars then jar up on a plug of the blanking plug assembly to move the plug upwardly to an upper position within the blanking plug assembly. The sealing assembly is prevented from moving upward and a tapered surface on the plug is driven through the sealing assembly thereby radially energizing the sealing assembly into sealing engagement with the outer tubular member.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1994Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: Cooper Cameron CorporationInventors: Edwin C.
