  • Patent number: H1599
Abstract: A synthetic color arrangement for a night vision inclusive surveillance system and its display is disclosed. The system partitions an input scene video signal into spectrally segregated scene components which are provided with separate processing as video signals and then recombined into a composite but now multiple color inclusive output representation of the input scene. The system in effect shifts input spectral components to a different part of the electromagnetic spectrum, the visible range of the spectrum, where operator controllable new spectral wavelength values are assigned to each different input scene spectral wavelength. Use of charge coupled device video camera elements, a video signal mixer apparatus, input wavelengths within both the visible and infrared spectral regions and signal processing according to the NTSC standards are also included. Military and non military uses of the apparatus are contemplated.

  • Patent number: H1600
Abstract: Phillips' process high density polyethylene resin compositions having improved processing stability are obtained using a combination of stabilizers comprised of a hindered phenol and a phosphite compound having three cyclic phosphite moieties linked via a nitrogen atom. More specifically, the phosphite compound is 2, [[2,4,8,10-tetrakis(1,1-dimethylethyl)dibenzo[d,f][1,3,2]-dioxaphosphepin- 6-yl]oxy]-N,N-bis [2-[[2,4,8,10-tetrakis (1,1-dimethylethyl) dibenzo[d,f][1,3,2]dioxaphosphenpin-6-yl]oxy]-ethyl]ethanamine. With the HDPE compositions stabilized in accordance with the invention, it is possible to eliminate undesirable rapid changes in melt viscosity which can occur when Phillips' process HDPE resins are processed under conditions of high shear.

  • Patent number: 5560041
Abstract: An equestrian knee pad for gripping, allowing added contact at the knee with the saddle for better leg control, as well as protecting an equestrian's knees from tissue injury. A generally flattened pillow-like pad is affixed to two pair of flexible and elastic straps, each strap having an end proximate to the pad and an end distal to the pad. Each strap extends generally parallel outwardly from the long edge of the oval pad. The oval pad comprises two oval layers of a web fabric, creating an inwardly facing surface (being the surface to be worn against the knee) and an outwardly facing surface (being the surface to be worn against the saddle). The inwardly facing surface is preferably made of leather to minimize friction and provide a natural cushioning effect. The outwardly facing surface is preferably suede, a textured surface which naturally provides a gripping effect upon the leather of a saddle. Abstract: A turning air mattress serving to facilitate the therapeutic benefits of turning a bed ridden patient includes a combination of elongated transverse and longitudinal air cells disposed on a base and encompassed by a cell liner. The air cells are attached to a plurality of cell manifolds in communication with a control system. A top cover covering the air cells is attached to the base, and a fleece and top sheet are fittedly retained over the air cells. The control system having a microprocessor monitors the pressure within the air cells, along with overall system functions. The control system also enables a patient to be rotated from side to side, and leveled after being turned, in a smooth transition from a level position to a turned position, or from a turned position to a level position, while substantially maintaining spinal alignment.
