An adder for adding numbers of 2n-3 bits receives at a first input a number constituted by bit x.sub.n-1, positioned on the left of the square p.sup.2 provided by the table. A first switching element receives the number p and provides same to the n-2 low weight lines of a second input of the adder if bit x.sub.0 is equal to 1. A second switching element receives number p and provides same to the n-2 high weight lines of the second input if bit x.sub.n-1 is equal to 1. An AND gate is connected to the remaining line of the second input and receives the bits x.sub.0 and x.sub.n-1. The square X.sup.2 of X is constituted by the adder output, to which a bit 0 and the bit x.sub.0 are positioned on the right.

  • Patent number: 5568660
Abstract: Pressure relief for wheelchair patients is improved by use of a relatively higher density foam, such as 2.4 pounds per cubic foot or above and a 25 percent ILD characteristic of at least about 50 pounds, together with independently acting cube shaped segments. The segments have predetermined respective separation and rounded upper edges with a predetermined radius of curvature which is larger about the periphery of the wheelchair pad. A relatively lowered pad thickness of about 3 inches facilitates patient movement onto and off from a wheelchair cushion. A removable covering of laminated materials is stretchable so as to slide over the rounded edges of the segments and down into separations therebetween to maintain independent action of such segments during use with the covering. An upper layer of the covering comprises a base layer of woven fabric of elastic synthetic fibers. • Patent number: 5568669
Abstract: An applicator for use in applying lotion comprises a housing, a handle and an applicator pad. The housing is hollow so as to receive the handle therein when the handle is being stored. The applicator pad is attached to the housing and is used to spread lotion, such as suntan lotion, on one's back. The end of the handle has a locking ring, endplug or endcap that is designed to hold by friction the handle to the housing, either in the stored position with the handle in the housing, or in the extended position for use. The applicator pad has an annular depression to enable the pad to control the spread of the lotion. Lotion is spread toward the depression by the higher center and thus over the pad,but the excess lotion is confined to it by the higher edge of the pad. The present applicator will enable more efficient application of lotion by applying all of it rather than absorbing part of it.

The assembly further comprises flag bracket means (140) for mounting the track means (110, 112, 114) and support bracket means (80) to a structural support, and tab means (90, 120, 130) for attaching the track means (110, 112, 114) to the support bracket means (80) and flag bracket means (140). A related fastening system for use with overhead sectional door components comprises first (80, 140) and second (112, 114) components, tab means (90) extending from the first component (80, 140) for engaging the second component (112, 114), and tab slot means (120, 130) in the second component for receiving the tab means (90) of the first component (80, 140).

Abstract: A means for the vertical or height adjustment of folding doors comprises a pivot pin assembly utilizing a threaded adjustment bolt with a separate, unthreaded pivot pin. The bolt is threaded into the sleeve above the pivot pin. A lower interior portion of the sleeve includes a polygonal interior cross-section which matches the head of the pin and prevents the pin from rotating. The pivot pin may be held within the sleeve during shipment and installation by a friction fit with a cap positioned in the bottom of the sleeve, or instead a spring may be used between the pivot pin and cap to urge the pin upwardly. Rotation of the bolt vertically adjusts the pin.

Abstract: In a slide fastener slider, an attachment lug stands from a slider body and has a pair of support projections facing each other, defining a recess for receiving a pintle of a pull tab. The lug additionally has opposite reinforcing projections situated outside the respective support projections. For assembly, the support projections are bent toward the recess by pressing, and at the same time, the reinforcing projections are bent against the associated support projections to seal and hold the pintle of the pull tab. As the pintle of the pull tab is thus attached to the attachment lug reliably, the lug is adequately durable against any movement of the pull tab.
