  • Patent number: 6014926
Abstract: The present invention intends to provide a method of injection into meat in which brine for curing or seasoning liquid is uniformly dispersed in a green meat efficiently and continuously without deteriorating a meat property; curing and seasoning can be accomplished without using a tumbling machine, a massage machine or the like for a long time; and the brine for curing and the seasoning liquid can be uniformly dispersed even if there is a difference of injection resistance in meat property. The object can be achieved by using a pickle injector which is provided with a high-pressure liquid generator constituted of a plunger pump or the like, a coherent stream injection nozzle for injecting the brine for curing and a pressure control mechanism which can raise an injection pressure gradually from 0 or a low pressure while injecting the liquid substance when the brine for curing is injected from the nozzle to the green meat. In addition, for pressure control, a servo motor or the like can be used.

  • Patent number: 6014931
Abstract: A substrate is coated with a first material which is soluble in a first solvent, whereupon a second material which is strongly adherent to the first material and insoluble in the first solvent is selectively applied by an ink jet printer. The substrate is then developed in the first solvent to establish the image. In a preferred embodiment the substrate is hydrophilic, the first material is a negative working photosensitive material, and the second material is a transparent adhesive, which permits curing the first material by exposure to actinic light after the development step. The adhesive is then removed. In an embodiment directed to a waterless plate the substrate includes a surface coating of silicone, and the first material is a primer which promotes adhesion of a second material in the form of an oleophilic adhesive which is selectively applied. The primer is then developed to expose the silicone on the non-image areas.

  • Patent number: 6014953
Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine comprises a pair of rotors having a plurality of vanes that intermesh and are located in a single stationary chamber. A central intake conduit provides fresh air upstream of the intermeshing vanes. The air is compressed into a combustion volume wherein the air stream divides and fuel is injected into each air stream. An ignitor in each combustion volume causes the fuel air mixture to combust and expand against the vanes of the rotors. The spent mixture of each stream exhausts through a separate conduit. A portion of the fresh air is trapped between the vanes of each rotor and therefore bypasses the combustion volume. This fresh air remixes with the burning fuel air mixture to provide a lean burn as the gases expand against the vanes and then exhaust. The intermeshing vanes are sized to provide very close proximity of vane tips to roots without physical contact to thereby provide a substantially sealing engagement without rubbing.

  • Patent number: 6014958
Abstract: An antidissipation apparatus for evaporated fuel vapor for an internal combustion engine. A purge passage connects the intake manifold and the fuel tank. A canister is installed in the purge passage and adsorbs evaporated fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank. A purge pump is installed in the purge passage and delivers the adsorbed evaporated fuel vapor to the intake manifold. Since the purge pump is driven by at least a part of a fuel flow in the fuel passage, the purge pump can change its discharge amount of the adsorbed evaporated fuel vapor to the intake manifold according to an amount of the fuel flow in the fuel passage. Therefore, the evaporated fuel vapor which is adsorbed at the canister can be supplied (purged) to the intake manifold by the purge pump forcibly even if the engine is a lean-burn type which can not employ large negative pressure of the intake manifold.

Abstract: Feedback correction of an air-fuel ratio is performed, a feedback correction amount is learned, and applied as a learning value on the next occasion that control is performed. It is determined whether or not an engine is in a high load state, and when the high load state continues for a predetermined time, the feedback correction amount is fixed at a predetermined value. The learning value is fixed at its value based on the feedback correction amount before fixing. The predetermined time is set such that the learning value in the high load state converges within this time. By applying open loop control using this learning value, surging of the vehicle due to the air-fuel ratio feedback control in the high engine load state is prevented, while the air-fuel ratio in this state is controlled precisely to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.

Abstract: The velocity of a mass is monotonically increased from an initial non-zero value at the time it enters a spiral track. A drive gyrates the track about an axis so the mass makes each turn around the track in about the same period of time. The drive includes plural rotary drive shafts eccentrically and fixedly connected to the track at several points. The drive shafts and track are arranged so points on a first side of a particular spiral turn where the mass is located are driven toward the axis and points on a second side of the particular spiral turn remote from where the mass is located are driven away from the axis.

Abstract: A solar collector having a radiation absorber (1) has a number of channels for conducting heat receiving liquid, said channels accommodating particles for capillary effect to lift the liquid to effectively sweep the sun-facing surface layer of the absorber. The solar collector is started after a prolonged operation standstill by driving a liquid pump (7) intermittently by a control unit (13) acting according to a clock-controlled program. In the intermittent start-up phase, first the pump (7) is driven for 2-4 minutes, thereafter it is shut down for a time span of about 20-60 seconds, and this is repeated two or three times before a continuous operation phase is started. Thereby air in the absorber (1) channels is expelled more rapidly.

Abstract: A collector core (104) for a solar water-heating-system (100) includes a plurality of heat-absorbing pipes (108) each of which surrounds a cooler-water return-pipe (116). The heating-pipes (108) may connect directly to an insulated hot-water storage-tank (104) from which cooler water descends through the return-pipes (116) into the heating-pipes (108). Upon reaching the end of the return-pipes (116), the cooler water flows outward into the space between the surrounding heating-pipes (108) and the inner return-pipes (116). Upon warming, water between the two pipes (108, 116) rises upward back to the hot-water storage-tank (104) thus completing the thermosyphon flow cycle. Preferably, the inner return-pipe (116) is made of polyvinyl chloride ("PVC"), polybutelene ("PB"), or other compressible material which permits collector core (106) operation both in freezing and non-freezing environments.
