  • Patent number: 6108881
Abstract: An SMD-C type terminal automatically pressing machine comprising a support frame, a wire reel rack, a wire clipping mold, an embossing mold, a shearing mold, a material feeding device, a first wire shifting clamp, a second wire shifting clamp and a rectifying mold. The wire clipping mold, embossing mold and shearing mold sequentially process a wire track pulled out from the wire reel mounted on the wire reel rack and performing the pin insertion operation. Thereafter, the first wire shifting clamp first completes the wire shifting operation with respect to the lower half portion of the inserted terminal. Then the material feeding device sends the terminal, in which the lower half portion has been completely shifted, to the second working area. Then the second wire shifting clamp performs the wire shifting operation with respect to the upper half portion of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6108883
Abstract: A tool to remove a retaining ring at least partially received in a groove of a cylinder has a handle lever constructed to engage the open end of the cylinder and a claw lever having a hooked end or claw constructed to be received at least partially underneath the retaining ring with the claw lever pivotally connected to the handle lever permitting relative movement between the two levers. The pivotal connection between the handle lever and claw lever permits them to be separated and joined together in a scissor-like fashion to facilitate engaging the claw with the retaining ring. When engaged with the retaining ring, the tool is pivoted about the cylinder to displace the claw and thereby displace the retaining ring inwardly and upwardly of the groove to remove it from the cylinder. The tool permits easy and non-destructive removal of the retaining ring and requires relatively low force and a relatively low level of skill to remove the retaining ring from the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6108886
Abstract: A stent crimping tool for firmly and uniformly crimping a stent onto a balloon catheter is constructed from a crimping section holding the stent and the balloon catheter therein, wherein the crimping is actuated by a shaft having an input end and an output end, engaging the crimping section at the output end. The shaft has a detent formed into the input end. A gripping member has an internal cavity to receive the input end, and includes a hole proximate to the shaft, wherein a ball bearing and a compression spring are located within the hole to bias the ball bearing toward the shaft and to engage the detent. When a torque is applied to the gripping member, it is transmitted through the ball bearing to the shaft; if the torque exceeds a predetermined magnitude, it overcomes the force of the spring on the ball bearing causing the bearing to slide out of the detent thereby disconnecting the applied torque from the shaft. The crimping section can be a rubber tube having a lumen holding the stent and catheter.

  • Patent number: 6108887
Abstract: A sequence of manufacturing operations performed to manufacture products (22) may be analyzed and modified, as appropriate, by first encoding the operations into tokens, each indicative of a separate operation (and its attributes). The tokens are then assembled into strings, each representing the operations on an individual product. A pattern scanner and recognizer (26) reads each string to recognize whether one or more prescribed token patterns are present. Based on the token patterns that are recognized, a rule is established representing a variation in the sequence of manufacturing operations. After the rule is established, the sequence of manufacturing operations is modified accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6108917
Abstract: Disclosed is a safe and reliable method and apparatus for opening cylindrical metallic containers which cuts into the side of the cylindrical body of the can below the upper annular rim. The device of the present invention employs a specially adapted, angularly-positioned, tapered rotatable blade for performing the cutting operation. The use of a rotatable blade results in a clean non-jagged cut around the circumference of the container. The use of a rotatable, tapered blade to cut below the annular rim or seam of the container results in an inwardly-bent edge on the newly-cut lid having no sharp edges. This facilitates easy and worry free removal of the lid. In use, a can is placed in the device such that the knurled edge of an upper disc rests upon the top of the can. The rotatable side cutting blade is then moved such that it pierces the side of the can, just below the lip seal. The side cutting blade is locked into place, and the upper disc is rotated, thereby rotating the can.

Abstract: In an electronic level in which a leveling rod is collimated to convert the result of collimation into an image signal in the form of an electric signal and then graduated numerical values are automatically recognized as characters to thereby compute the collimated position, recognition cannot be made with small graduated numerical values when the distance between a telescope 1 and the leveling rod is large. If the graduated numerical values are enlarged, recognition can neither be made when the distance is small because the graduated numerical values go beyond the field of view. As a solution, two kinds of large and small graduated numerical values A, B are indicated on the leveling rod. From the pitches of graduation patterns M1, M2 in the image signals, the distance between the telescope and the leveling rod is obtained. Then, depending on the distance, the graduated numerical value to be recognized is selected out of the graduated numerical values A, B.

Abstract: Equipment provides more rapid drying of heating parts comprising hygroscopic, electric insulation made of cellulose and/or plastics. At least two condensers are present, one being used when heating the parts and the other in the distillation stage. As a result removal by distillation is possible any time during heating and during the time intervals when heating is interrupted and the pressure-dropping procedure is carried out in the vacuum vessel. Due to the second condenser (with a second, associated vacuum pump), the heating medium can be cleansed or distilled during the pressure-dropping procedure and simultaneously the suction or drying procedure can be carried out in the vacuum vessel. This feature leads to drying the electrical parts more rapidly than heretofore because the steps of drying the electrical parts and regenerating the heating medium no longer require being consecutive, but instead regeneration can be implemented simultaneously with the evacuation of the vicinity around the electrical parts.
