  • Patent number: 6196348
Abstract: A first hydraulic pump P1 driven by power of an engine and a first hydraulic motor M1 are fluidly connected so as to form a closed fluid circuit. An output shaft 2 of first hydraulic motor M1 is drivingly connected with a subtransmission 3. The output power from sub-transmission 3 drives main-driving wheels 5 and also drives a second hydraulic pump P2 fluidly connected with a second hydraulic motor M2 for driving sub-driving wheels 6. A clutch 7 is interposed between an output shaft 4 of sub-transmission 3 and an input shaft 9 of second hydraulic pump P2 or on the output side of second hydraulic motor M2. Second hydraulic pump P2 or second hydraulic motor M2 has variable displacement, so that second hydraulic motor M2 is drivingly accelerated in proportion to the degree of turning operation of a steering operating tool 31.

  • Patent number: 6196349
Abstract: A steering cylinder retention system is provided that replaces the conventional bolted joint with a pin and snap ring arrangement that requires fewer parts and is easier to assemble. The retention system provides a pair of annular axle brackets whereby the steer cylinder is received in both axle brackets. The steer cylinder is retained in the axle brackets by a shoulder, pin and snap ring assembly. More specifically, the steer cylinder is formed with a seating shoulder that abuts one of the axle brackets, and a slot is provided between the cylinder and axle bracket to prevent rotational movement of the cylinder with respect to the axle bracket. A snap ring arrangement fastens the cylinder against axial movement with respect to the axle cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6196355
Abstract: An elevator rescue system includes a power source of back-up electrical power. A manually-operated, rescue enable switch switchably permits the transmission of electrical power from the power source to a motor brake coil of an elevator car during a rescue operation such that the energized coil releases the motor brake to move the car to a desired landing. A speed detector measures the speed of the elevator car and thereupon generates a speed control signal corresponding to the speed of the car. An overspeed detection circuit has a first input for being actuated when receiving electrical power from the power source, a second input for receiving the speed control signal, and an output for transmitting electrical power to the motor brake coil when the speed control signal is below a predetermined value and for automatically stopping the transmission of electrical power when the speed control signal becomes higher than a predetermined value. A manually-operated brake release switch has an input and an output.

  • Patent number: 6196357
Abstract: A parking brake mounted selectively to a first position on a floor of an automobile body and a second position in front of the first position on the floor. Fitting hole is formed on the floor at the back of the first position. A pipe member is fitted into the fitting hole and has opening area formed like a substantial flare shape to be expanded forward at their front end. The opening area is opened over the floor of the automobile body. A cable is connected to the parking brake and then extended backward into the inside of the floor via the opening area. Accordingly, even when the parking brake is mounted to either of the first position and the second position, the cable is extended from the upper surface side of the floor to the back surface side thereof through the opening area of the pipe member. Since the opening area of the pipe member has a substantial flare shape, the cable is introduced smoothly into the inside of the floor even though the cables are strung obliquely to the pipe member.

  • Patent number: 6196361
Abstract: An improved braking apparatus having a jaw type clutch coupled to an electrical solenoid through a ball spline mechanism provides significantly greater braking capacity in a given volume than other types of braking devices. The ball spline is configured to significantly reduce the internal friction load which the electrical solenoid must overcome to apply or release the brake, resulting in a smaller physical size and current draw of the solenoid. The jaw clutch and ball spline are also configured to reduce or absorb shock loads on various internal components of the braking apparatus when the brake is engaged. By configuring the ball spline and jaw clutch to function as shock absorbers in addition to performing their primary functions, the need for separate elastomeric shock absorbers, etc., is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6196370
Abstract: A chute for supporting and facilitating transport of packages has a skived PTFE film adhesively bonded to a transport substrate. A pressure sensitive adhesive is pre-formed on and bonded to an entire surface of a first side of said skived PTFE film. Prior to installation, a release liner covers the adhesive. After the release liner is removed, the skived PTFE film with the pre-formed adhesive is attached to the substrate through the application of pressure to an opposite side of the film. The exposed opposite side of the film provides a lubricious transport surface on which packages move continuously without build-up. The film has a thickness which accommodates significant abrasion wear over time while continuing to provide a lubricious transport surface. The skived PTFE film may contain a carbon filler to prevent static electric build-up. The film can be applied over the whole transport substrate or only to wear paths.

  • Patent number: 6196371
Abstract: A coin discrimination apparatus and method is provided. Coins, preferably after cleaning, e.g. using a trommel, are singulated by a coin pickup assembly configured to reduce jamming. A coin rail assists in providing separation between coins as they travel past a sensor. The sensor provides an oscillating electromagnetic field generated on a single sensing core. The oscillating electromagnetic field is composed of one or more frequency components. The electromagnetic field interacts with a coin, and these interactions are monitored and used to classify the coin according to its physical properties. All frequency components of the magnetic field are phase-locked to a common reference frequency. The phase relationships between the various frequencies are fixed, and the interaction of each frequency component with the coin can be accurately determined without the need for complicated electrical filters.

  • Patent number: 6196387
Abstract: A single-piece cardboard sheet into which slots and tabs are strategically cut to permit its folding into a carton for packaging a pair of western spurs. The unfolded carton is substantially symmetrical with respect to both its major and minor axes and comprises a bottom section from which two pairs of largely equal structural segments (a front and a back section) project outwards along the longitudinal axis. A cut at the boundary between the bottom section and each of these structural segments defines an extension sufficiently large to support the tips of the sides of the two spurs. The front section of the cardboard carton contains a cut that defines a substantially rectangular tab and a corresponding opening suitable for passing the sides of two spurs therethrough. The top of the front section also contains a hanging slot suitable for receiving the hook of a display rack.

  • Patent number: 6196388
Abstract: The holder of the present invention comprises at least one clamping member, which is pivotally bearing-mounted in rotation bearings. The clamping member has two clamping arms and an operating portion, in which a resilient lip is formed which presses against a bottom of the holder in order to press this operating portion upwards and the clamping arms downwards. Formed on the bottom of the holder is a wedge-shaped threshold, of which a vertically directed stop face cooperates with the free end of the lip to prevent the clamping member from leaving the rotation bearings in an undesired manner.

  • Patent number: 6196394
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a roller bar screen and to the generation of certain parameters for optimal adaptation to the bulk material being processed and as a prerequisite for process optimization. Construction measures—essentially equipping the rollers with variable speed drive mechanisms—are taken in a first preparatory step. Selected control variables and limit values related to the average characteristics to be expected of the bulk material are generated in a single operation by means of a regulation and process control system. The optimum number of revolutions for each individual roller in particular is predetermined in dependence on the process. The rollers can be grouped together.
