Abstract: A friction dampener can include a housing having one end slidably surrounding one end of a shaft movable relative thereto. Opposing ends of the housing and shaft can each having a connecting eye member for connection to separate independently movable elements. One or more friction elements can be carried by the shaft which frictionally engage inner surfaces of the housing. The friction elements can have inner and outer portions having different material properties. The housing can be adapted to generally maintain the pressure between the friction elements and the housing within a range of desirable pressures.

Abstract: A bill-receiving/discharging device for storing bills in their shorter-side direction by using one small-width tape has a problem that a corner of a bill is highly lifted due to folds of the bill when discharged, because a distance from a tape-holding point to a bill end is large in the axial direction, and the bill corner causes edge folding that the bill is folded like a triangle, and the bill cannot normally discharged to the outside of the device. The invention solves the above problem by the structure that comprises a wheel for winding a tape together with bills at the central portion of a transfer route for carrying the bills, a reel for winding the tape let out from the wheel, and a guide unit for guiding front ends of the bills discharged from the wheel together with the tape, which extends from an end in the width direction of the tape toward a width direction of the bill transfer route.

The articles are blocks of wood of random length and of common thickness. The first conveyor in the system is a conventional vibrating conveyor and this is followed by a conveyor of the vibrating type provided with an undulating upper surface that defines parallel flow paths of a first article alignment section. Next is a combination vibrating and belt conveyor in which a first portion of the conveyor is a second alignment section provided by an undulating upper surface followed by a second section having deeper spaced apart parallel channels. Abstract: A target of an alloy of metals having different specific weights is used in a method for producing substrates that are coated with a layer comprising the same two metals by magnetron sputtering of the target. When sputtering such a target material, the metals of the alloy will sputter off with different sputtering characteristics with regard to a static angle a at which the sputtered off material leaves the target. For this reason, at the substrate to be sputter-coated, there occurs a demixing effect of these metals which will be deposited with a varying local ratio of the metals, that differs form the ratio of the metals in the alloy of the target. To counter-act this demixing phenomenon, the location of an electron trap formed by the magnetron field of the sputter source at the target with respect to the location of the substrate, is selected.

Abstract: A fibrous article that generates heat upon application of electrical power is formed, for example, by joining stitch and loop yarns to form a fibrous prebody, with the loop yarn overlaying the stitch yarn at a technical face and forming loops at a technical back of the fabric prebody. An electrical resistance heating element, e.g., in the form of conductive elements, is joined with the stitch and loop yarns in the prebody at symmetrical and/or asymmetrical spaced-apart intervals as the stitch yarn, the electrical resistance heating elements extending between opposite edge regions of the fibrous article and conductor elements, e.g. located along edge regions, connect the electrical resistance heating elements to a source of electrical power. The technical face and/or the technical back of the fabric body may have fleece formed by finishing non-conductive fibers of the stitch yarn and/or loop yarn in a manner to avoid damage to electrical conductance of the electrical resistance heating elements.

Abstract: An electrophotography fixing device has a heating roller and an induction heating device. In order to improve heat resistance, heat radiating performance and insulation performance and in order to appropriately uniformly heat the heating roller, in the induction heating device, induction heating coils wound onto a core are fixed by varnish mixed with mica, and the outside surfaces thereof are fixed by a heat resistant bundling band or a molded body of a heat resistant material, or coated with a heat resistant, insulating and thermal conductive sheet. Alternatively, the same sheets as the above described sheet are provided between the core and the coils and between the layers of the coils. In addition, the core is formed with a hole extending in axial directions or holes extending in directions perpendicular to the axial directions. Moreover, the coils are doubly insulated.

Abstract: In a waveguide 11 provided with a magnetron 12, a container 13 made of quartz glass and containing a porous body 14 is placed. The container 13 is connected to a water supply pipe 15, a steam delivery pipe 16 and a drain pipe 17. Pure water regulated at a preset flow rate by a flow control valve 18 drops on the upper face of the porous body 14, and infiltrates into the porous body 14. When the magnetron 12 sends out microwave radiation to the waveguide 11, the pure water contained in the porous body 14 is heated by the microwave, and instantaneously evaporates. The steam of pure water escapes from every surface of the porous body 14 and delivered through the steam delivery pipe 16. An appropriate control of the flow rate of the pure water by the flow control valve 18 and the output power of the magnetron 12 can make an appropriate control of the flow rate of the steam, so that all the pure water supplied to the porous body 14 is converted to steam.

Abstract: A support bracket and extra-low voltage control device for installation with an electrical outlet box provides the capability of attaching or removing extra-low voltage (normally 30 volts or less) control of AC power (normally supplied at 120 volts) circuits such as lights. A controlling device in an enclosure (also called a control module) is attached to the exterior of one wall of an electrical outlet box, so that AC 120 volt wiring from the control module AC controlling device (a relay, a triac or a transistor) enters the electrical outlet box through an aperture in the wall of the electrical outlet box. Extra-low voltage control wiring enters the control module through an aperture in the control module enclosure and connects either to a relay coil or to an opto-coupling device within the control module enclosure to provide physical separation between the two wiring systems.

Abstract: The present invention provides visual inspection and physical access into the space of a fluid containment system consisting of an inner storage container or vessel, and an outer, reinforced precast structure, or vault, having a top cover. Visual inspection ports and physical access assemblies, with easily removable covers, are cast into the vault top corners for direct, or remote viewing, such as with a periscope or video camera device, of the exterior surfaces of the inner storage container; the interior surfaces of the outer, vaulted structure; and the space between the two structures. Sufficient physical access and physical maneuverability is provided by the visual inspection port assemblies, and corresponding visual inspection chambers directly below each port assembly, that proactive inspection to verify primary vessel integrity and removal of fluids from the interior space between the two containers can be achieved without personnel entry or removal of the vault top.
