Abstract: A Clerodendrum plant named ‘Brandonii’ characterized by having distinctive variegation on the upper surface of leaves which are dark-green with irregular patchy lighter green becoming cream colored towards the edge. The variegation becomes yellow in full sunlight but remains cream-colored in partial shade. The edges of leaves appear somewhat deformed especially around heavy areas of variegation. The growth rate of ‘Brandonii’ is approximately 50% slower than the parent selection.

Abstract: A new high flow rate sampling device and methods for measuring fugitive gas emissions are provided. The high flow rate sampler comprises an air mover connected to a flexible hose for drawing in air near a process component, such as a pump, compressor seal, flange, or pipe thread connection. A second sample hose draws air from the opposing side of the process component at a flow rate low enough not to affect capture of the leak by the first sample hose. Air measured from the first sample hose will contain fugitive emissions from the process component being measured, as well as from other process components. Air measured from the second sample hose will contain only fugitive emissions from surrounding process components and can then be subtracted from the measurement from the first sample hose to obtain the leak rate from the process component in question.

Abstract: A scanning probe microscope is provided with a piezo-ceramic tube to carry the sensitive probe at its free end to translationally move the probe in the X and Y directions. Large stationary surfaces can then be scanned by probe tip motion. The tube is also capable of movement in the Z direction so that the tip can follow the contours of the surface. Optical detection means track the motion of the probe tip and generate signals corresponding to and representative of surface contours. In one mode of operation, the signals are used in a feed back loop to keep constant the spacing between the tip and the surface, in which case the error or control signals represent the contours.

Abstract: A supported particulate cobalt catalyst is formed by dispersing cobalt, alone or with a metal promoter, particularly rhenium, as a thin catalytically active film upon a particulate support, especially a silica or titania support. This catalyst can be used to convert an admixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen to a distillate fuel constituted principally of an admixture of linear paraffins and olefins, particularly a C10+ distillate, at high productivity, with low methane selectivity. A process is also disclosed for the preparation of these catalysts.

A two-piece implement such as a hand mitt requires that two sheets of the fabric and chloride rubber composition be sewn together by means of a zigzag lock stitch employing nylon thread.

The ear protector has a three layer construction having a cotton fiber or cotton fabric exterior, a Teflon® or a similar type material located in the center and a cotton or soft batting in the interior. The three layer construction acts as a heat shield which protects the user from receiving painful burns. The cotton batting inner covering is attached to the outer covering via stitching. An elastic band is secured to both the inner covering and outer covering adjacent to the stitching and secures the ear protector safely over the user's ear. Alternatively, a draw string can be used in place of the elastic band to secure the ear protector over the user's ear. In addition, aesthetically pleasing indicia is placed upon the outer covering of the ear protector such that a certain style or charm is added to the practicality.

In most cases (foot/toe area) after a procedure is done, an open surgical shoe is required to be worn by the patient. For the arm/hand area—when braces, casts, splints, fixtures, bandages and medicated patches (e.g.) are used after procedures, the components and variations are an asset. In addition, with both the foot/leg, and hand/arm coverings, the variations, components and materials are practical, safe, washable and reusable, and the manufacturing cost is minimal.
