Abstract: A method for the production of reinforced hollow sections with a continuous periphery. In order to provide in a simple manner, hollow sections with selective local reinforcement at points subject to high mechanical loads, an opening is formed in the periphery of the hollow section and a reinforcing plate is inserted into the opening, such that it at least projects into the hollow section. The reinforcing plate is then joined to the hollow section in the region of the edge of the opening.

Abstract: A mixture of lower alcohols whose mean molecular weight is 46 or less is supplied onto a surface of a semiconductor wafer cleansed with water. With this supply, the amount of alcohols left on the semiconductor wafer which has been dried can be suppressed to 2ng/cm2 or less, and thus a gate oxide film formed on the semiconductor wafer is prevented from deterioration. As a result, a high yield of semiconductor products can be realized.

Abstract: Footwear has an inner footwear body with a sole pad, and an outer footwear body with a sole pad rest. The inner and outer footwear bodies each have an instep member having an adjustable joining means, so that the inner footwear body can be separably united on the outer footwear body by the adjustable joining means. When the inner footwear body is soiled, it can easily be removed and washed or exchanged for new one, thus to keep the footwear clean. The footwear such as mules, scuffs and sandals is easy to handle and especially convenient for use in public facilities such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals and meeting places.

Abstract: In its simplest conceptual form, the applicant's invention is the structure of a conventional shoe sole that has been modified by having its sides bent up so that their inner surface conforms to a shape nearly identical but slightly smaller than the shape of the outer surface of the sides of the foot sole of the wearer (instead of the shoe sole sides conforming to the ground by paralleling it, as is conventional). The shoe sole sides are sufficiently flexible to bend out easily when the shoes are put on the wearer's feet and therefore the shoe soles gently hold the sides of the wearer's foot sole when on, providing the equivalent of custom fit in a mass-produced shoe sole. This invention can be applied to shoe sole structures based on a theoretically ideal stability plane as a basic concept, especially including structures exceeding that plane.

Abstract: A sole construction for supporting at least a portion of a human foot and for providing energy storage and return is provided. The sole construction includes a generally horizontal layer of stretchable material, at least one chamber positioned adjacent a first side of the layer, and at least one actuator positioned adjacent a second side of the layer vertically aligned with a corresponding chamber. Each actuator has a footprint size smaller than that of the corresponding chamber, and is sized and arranged to provide individual support to the bones of the human foot. The support structure when compressed causes the actuator to push against the layer and move the layer at least partially into the corresponding chamber. In one embodiment, dual action energy storage and rebound is provided by using a plurality of actuators that move both upwardly and downwardly into corresponding chambers.

Abstract: A tooth assembly for an excavating machine includes an adapter having first and second surfaces and first and second sides. The first surface of the adapter is generally tapered and converges toward a first end of the adapter. A tooth point is coupled with the adapter at the first end of the adapter, and the tooth point has a contact edge opposite the first end of the adapter. The tooth point also includes first and second sides, the first side having a slot adapted to receive a non-rotation ridge of a retainer pin to prevent rotation of the retainer pin with respect to the tooth point. A second end of the adapter is adapted to be removably coupled with a tooth horn. The tooth assembly further includes a central portion extending generally from the first side of the adapter to the second side, the central portion defining a central bore.
