Abstract: In a flow rate sensor, a sensing passage, into which a fluid is introduced and in which a flow rate sensing element is disposed, a support member for supporting the sensing passage, and a circuit case, in which an electronic circuit unit for controlling the flow rate sensing element is accommodated, are formed integrally with each other, and the support member extends into a main passage through a hole opened to the main passage so as to position the sensing passage in the main passage. A structural member, the outside shape of which is formed to have a fluid resistance approximately similar to that of the portion of the support member extending from the hole, is disposed at a position approximately symmetrical with the portion of the support member extending from the hole about the sensing passage.

Abstract: A flowmeter includes a heating resistor and a resistive element for detecting the temperature of the heating resistor. The heating resistor is controlled so that the temperature detected by the resistive element approaches a reference temperature determined based on the temperature of the fluid flow. As a result, the temperature of the upstream side of the heating resistor becomes lower than the reference temperature, while the temperature of the downstream side of the heating resistor becomes higher than the reference temperature. Another resistive element is arranged on the upstream side or the downstream side of the heating resistor for detecting the rate of the fluid flow, and the rate and the direction of the fluid flow are detected by comparing the temperature of the resistive element with the reference temperature. This flowmeter is immune to variation in the resistance of the heating resistor.

Abstract: A graduated fluid measuring device is provided which aids in measuring the amount of liquid remaining in a large tank. A long, clear, rigid plastic tube is provided that is approximately 16 feet in total length. At least 14 feet of the tube would be marked in ⅛ inch increments. At the opposite end of the tube is a pivoting valve. The invention replaces and improves on the conventional method of “sticking” a tank that uses a wooden stick by operating on the principle of vacuum similar in nature to what occurs when a finger is placed over the opening of a straw and then removing the straw from the glass of liquid.

Abstract: In a sensor attachment structure, a lead wire connecting a sensor is pinched in a pinch portion provided at a tip side portion of an extending bar, proximate to the sensor. The pinch portion has a protrusion that protrudes from the end surface of the pinch portion toward the sensor. A contact surface of the protrusion is inclined toward the sensor from a protruding direction of the pinch portion to have an inclination angle equal to or larger than a deflection angle that is formed at the tip side of the extending bar against the extending direction of the lead wire. Accordingly, even when a tensile force F is exerted to the lead wire opposite to the sensor side, a component force of the tensile force F along the contact surface becomes zero or is directed to the base of the pinch portion.

The differential signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter. A Hilbert transformer shifts the differential signal by &pgr;/2. Two multipliers squares the original differential signal and the &pgr;/2-phase-shifted differential signal, respectively, and an adder computes the sum of the squares. Abstract: A pressure indicator according to the present invention monitors the pressure of the fluid in a vessel. One embodiment of the present invention comprises a closed pressurized gas volume behind a dimpled metal diaphragm. In normal operation, the force of the fluid pressure acting on the external surface of the diaphragm overcomes the force of the gas pressure acting on the internal surface of the diaphragm to hold the diaphragm in a concave geometry. In the event of a sufficient loss of fluid pressure, the force of the gas pressure acting on the internal surface of the diaphragm will overcome the force of the fluid pressure acting on the external surface of the diaphragm, thereby moving the diaphragm into a convex geometry. A viewing window disposed in the side of the vessel can be used to view the pressure indicator and determine the shape of the indicator diaphragm.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pressure sensing device that includes at least one TMR sensor, and preferably an array of TMR sensors, with each TMR sensor having an insulating spacer layer interposed between a pinned and a free ferromagnetic layer. In an unbiased state, the magnetization vector of each of the ferromagnetic layers is preferably parallel to each other. Upon application of a small voltage, the magnetization vectors remain unchanged. Upon application of stress, the magnetization vector of the free magnetic layer will rotate, thus causing a corresponding and proportionally related change in the resistance of the sensor. This change in resistance can be sensed and used to calculate the stress applied thereto.

Abstract: In a complex machining machine tool capable of executing a plurality of kinds of machining on a workpiece by selectively indexing and using an insert installed on a complex tool, complex tool is registered concerning a plurality of machining capable of executing with the complex tool as a plurality of virtual tools for executing the machining in tool file. The virtual tools include a turning tool and a milling tool. The tool data is stored for each virtual tool. In the tool data, the angle of B-axis direction at which the tool is positioned when the virtual tool is used is stored as B-axis angle concerning each virtual tool. The tool data of the corresponding virtual tool is read out from the tool file on the basis of the machining instruction by the virtual tool stored in machining program, and the B-axis angle is set on the basis of the tool data so as to execute machining.

Abstract: A rotating shearing device for cropping fast-running rolling stock, in particular wire, includes two axially cutting annular knives which rotate about their axes at the same rotational speed. The two axially cutting annular knives include end cutting edges directed toward one another which converge to the clearance required for separating running stock during the cutting operation and lie in planes which are arranged at an acute angle to one another and intersect one another in a line. The rolling stock is guided toward the shearing device by a front guide and guided away from the shearing device by a rear guide. The front guide is pivotable to change in the relative position between the rolling stock and the cutting body so that the rolling stock may be guided either through the space between the annular knives which is free for the cut-free passage of the rolling stock or into the wedge-shaped cutting region of the annular knives.

Abstract: A die block assembly of the present invention includes an upper die (20), an unloading plate (40), a plurality of springs (60), and a plurality of spacer blocks (80). A plurality of receiving holes (30) is defined in the upper die, for receiving the springs. A plurality of rams (34) depends from the upper die, for stamping a workpiece (95). The unloading plate is movably connected under the upper die, and defines a plurality of through holes (42) for accommodating the corresponding rams therein. Each spacer block is a stepped cylinder which includes a base (82) and a protrusion (84) extending upwardly from the base. Each spring abuts the base of the corresponding spacer blocker. A height of each base is slightly greater than a maximize clearance between the upper die and the unloading plate. The spacer blocks prevent spring fragments produced in the stamping process from entering the clearance.
