Abstract: The present invention is an improved glove having a fit enhancing, moisture absorbent component attached to the interior of the gauntlet of the glove on at least a portion thereof. The fit-enhancing, moisture absorbent component, or gauntlet insert, provides a closer fit of the glove around the wearer's wrist than the fit provided by the glove shell itself in the absence of the gauntlet insert. In addition, the gauntlet insert provides moisture absorption to collect perspiration which runs from the hand to the wrist area, as well as perspiration which runs from the arm toward the hand during use by the wearer. Both the fit and absorption features of the gauntlet insert provide for improved tactility, dexterity and comfort to the wearer during use.

Abstract: An multi-purpose garment is provided for use by a wearer in a plurality of interchangeable configurations. The multipurpose garment includes a circumferential band for encircling a portion of a wearer's head and a first releasable attachment mechanism. A shawl portion is provided having a second releasable attachment mechanism, wherein the first and second releasable attachment mechanisms are engageable to secure the shawl portion to the circumferential band. The multipurpose garment is easily adaptable to a plurality of configurations to protect the wearer from overexposure to dangerous ultraviolet solar rays, rain, sleet, hail, dust, cold, wind and other extreme weather conditions.

Abstract: An on-machine-seamable papermaker's fabric, which may be produced by modified endless weaving, includes machine-direction (MD) and cross-machine-direction (CD) yarns. When so produced, the MD yarns weave continuously back and forth between the two widthwise edges of the fabric, each time forming a seaming loop at one of the two widthwise edges. Interwoven with at least one of the two sides, top and bottom, of the seaming loops at one or both widthwise edges are at least two additional CD yarns. The additional CD yarns interweave with the top and/or bottom of the seaming loops in a leno weave, which keeps the seaming loops in a common position vertically relative to the plane of the papermakers fabric, locks the seaming loops into a desired position and orientation with their planes perpendicular to that of the papermaker's fabric.

Abstract: A disposable pant garment is made from a web by joining front and back side panels attached to the garment chassis. The side panels have diagonal edges in order to result in side seams on the garment which run diagonally on the garment side. This diagonal side seam provides superior fit and releasability, especially in the case of refastenable side seams such as may be used for training pants. One or more of the side panels may be constructed from a plurality of pieces.

Abstract: The mounting bracket of the present invention includes an integrally molded head portion and article attachment portion that are formed of a flexible plastic material. The head portion is shaped for insertion into a cavity that is molded into an EPS article of manufacture such as a bicycle helmet. The flexible plastic head portion expands upon insertion into the cavity, such that it engages sidewall portions of the cavity and resists pulling forces that tend to remove it from the cavity.

Abstract: In a protective garment, a facing and backing layer are positioned adjacent one another with a layer of insulating material interposed therebetween. The layers are sewn together in a quilted pattern defined by lines of stitching, portions of which include closely spaced patterns of reinforcing stitches. The facing and backing layers as well as the insulating layer of material are sized to extend around and partway along the limb of a wearer with fasteners extending along opposed lateral edges to releasably attach the garment to the wearer's limb.

Abstract: The invention provides a toilet bowl odor extraction system 50 for extracting bad odor laden air from a toilet bowl 9. The odor extraction system 50 includes a conduit 1 connected to the toilet bowl 9 rim area 23 and an extraction fan 3 configured to direct the odor laden air along the odor extraction route 8 from out of the toilet bowl 9 along a substantially unimpeded flow path to a remote location 4 through at least a portion of a flush water supply pipe 15 from where it enters the toilet bowl 9 and supplies the toilet bowl with flush water.

Abstract: A toilet system, especially for passenger transport vehicles, includes a toilet bowl connected via a suction valve and a waste collection pipe to a waste collection tank. Waste-contacting surfaces of the toilet system that come into contact with urine and fecal waste are coated with an adhesion-inhibiting or adhesion-reducing nanocoating. Thereby, the adhesion of waste to the toilet bowl and other components is significantly reduced, and the total flushing water demand can be substantially reduced or, preferably completely eliminated. An airflow flowing into the toilet bowl, induced by the vacuum suction through the suction valve, is sufficient to “flush” the waste material from the nanocoated waste-contacting surfaces. The toilet system provides a substantial reduction in the total system weight and in the required quantity of flushing water that must be carried in the vehicle, and thus makes the toilet system particularly applicable for passenger transport vehicles such as aircraft.

The selector assembly is accessible from outside the toilet and provides for initiation of the flushing operation and an alternative choice between a larger flush water volume and a smaller flush water volume. A support structure provides for both axial and radial movement of the selector assembly relative to the flush valve in order to facilitate mounting and aligning of the flush valve assembly. A slide mechanism provides for variation of at least the smaller flush water volume.

Abstract: A toilet comprises a pan, a trap which normally retains water as a gas seal, and an outlet. The trap is arranged for movement, during flushing of the toilet, in a manner which causes the retained water to transfer by gravity to the outlet. In one aspect, the trap comprises a length of flexible hose having a curved portion which retains water as the gas seal.

Abstract: A waste and overflow system for a bathtub includes an overflow conduit having a threaded end and an overflow cap threaded at one end extending through the overflow opening in the bathtub into threaded engagement with the threaded end of the conduit. The other end of the overflow cap has a test cap portion removably connected thereto for closing off an overflow passage through the overflow cap during pressure testing of the system. The test cap portion is removable from the other end of the overflow cap upon completion of the system pressure test to open up the overflow passage through the overflow cap.

Abstract: An Airway Management Apparatus (AMA) and method for easing the breathing and aiding the alignment of the oral, pharyngeal, and laryngeal axes of the airway of an obese individual in the supine position. The AMA includes an upper-body support, and a head and neck support having a partially concave and partially convex surface coupled to the upper-body support. The AMA eases breathing by raising the individual's upper body at an angle, causing the individual's abdominal mass to fall away from the diaphragm. The AMA provides a support for the individual's neck to be extended, and for the head to be rotated backwards, to aid in the alignment of the oral, pharyngeal, and laryngeal axes of the individual's airway.

A disc is rotatably mounted in the upper chamber and includes a central hole. A plurality of claws each has a first end pivotally mounted to the disc and a second end. The second ends of the claws are movable toward a center of the disc, thereby clamping the strands of the mop before twisting the strands of the mop. After the strands of the mop are clamped by the claws, the disc is further rotated to thereby twist the strands of the mop.

Abstract: An automatic wall cleansing apparatus disclosed herein comprises a working platform, a lift unit, a supporting frame, a rotatable brush assembly, a blower unit, and a control unit. The working platform is moved up to a working position. By presetting with the control unit, the working platform is lifted to the topmost portion of the building and downwardly executing cleansing work with the aid of the wind supplied by the blower unit and rubbing operation by rotatable brush assembly. From supply of detergent, cleansing, spraying of clean water to drying by hot wind, all the steps are carried out automatically and successively without need of manual operation.

Abstract: A method and a device for decontaminating interior spaces are proposed. It is provided here that a base station and at least one mobile subunit are provided, the base station comprising a supply of decontamination agent and fuel and the subunit comprising decontamination equipment and a tank for ready-to-use decontamination agent, that the subunit is supplied with decontamination agent and with fuel at the base station and then transported to the item requiring decontamination of its interior space, the decontamination of the interior space is carried out and subsequently the subunit is returned to the base station to be re-supplied there with decontamination agent and fuel. Also proposed is a device with an off-road, automotive undercarriage with a drive motor, a storage tank for a decontamination liquid and a receiving tank for used decontamination liquid as well as a spray-extraction device for decontaminating the interior surface and with a generator for supplying power.

Abstract: A system and method for cleaning and disinfecting soft surfaces such as carpets, fabrics and the like and for cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces such as plaster, drywall, concrete, linoleum, counter tops, wood, metal, tile and the like is disclosed. The system and method uses electrolyzed alkaline water produced by an electrolysis process using a standard electrolyte solution of water and an electrolyte, wherein the electrolyte includes sodium chloride (NaCl) at a concentration between about 1% and 50%. In a preferred embodiment about a 20% concentration of sodium chloride is used. The electrolyzed alkaline water produced by this method is effective in cleaning and disinfecting both soft and hard surfaces.
