The jacket including such cushion pad can prevent water permeation into the pad from occurring and a weight of the pad from increasing due to the water permeation during diving.

Abstract: A garment for concealing a medical appliance such as a central line that is connected to a patient has a hidden pocket for storing the appliance on an inside surface of the front of the garment. The pocket has connected side and bottom edges which secure the pocket to the garment. The pocket also has a free upper edge that is positioned in spaced relationship below an opening in the front of the garment. The medical appliance can be concealed within the pocket while connected to the patient and later, when it is to be deployed, can be withdrawn from the pocket, raised above the upper edge of the pocket and withdrawn through the opening which is unobstructed above the pocket. The garment can have a second concealed opening at a lower level on one side of the garment for enabling multiple medical appliances to be connected to the patient for simultaneous use and withdrawn through openings in the garment at two different elevations. The opening can be concealed by a zipper or a cover flap.

Abstract: A shirt collar in which the material forming at least the neckband, but alternatively both the neckband and the collar, is arranged with the weave thereof on a bias so that in the event the length of the threads shrinks there is only a negligible reduction in the circumferential size of the collar, and the collar is stretchable in a direction parallel to the circumferential direction. The stitching that forms the seams attaching the collar to the neckband, and the neckband to the body of the shirt, may be applied in a pattern, e.g., zig-zag or skip stitching, that enables the seams to stretch in the circumferential direction of the collar.

Abstract: A detachable disposable sweatband, that can be readily manufactured from inexpensive readily-available component materials at low cost that makes it practically disposable and thus beneficial to personal hygiene, is easily attached to the sweatband or interior periphery of practically any existing headware. A composite central core of special highly-absorptive material, based on basic principles of feminine hygiene pads, accepts and retains more sweat than comparable sweatbands of prior art and thus provides better protection to the eyes and face of the wearer. The sweatband can be easily detached and discarded, and then replaced at low cost whenever desired, thus eliminating the usual inconvenience and cost of laundering or discarding and replacing the headwear.

The pants are particularly well suited for persons in law enforcement, the military, security, construction and the like as well as medical patients and senior citizens who desire easier access, convenience and safety when attending to their restroom needs. The pants comprise: a) a waistband; (b) two leg members extending from the waistband; (c) a continuous fastener member positioned along the inseam of the leg members, wherein the fastener member begins at a point above the bottom edge of one leg member and extends upwardly and through the crotch area and then downwardly along the second leg member and ends at a point above the bottom edge of the second leg member; and wherein the positioning of the fastener member creates an opening between the bottom edge of the inseam and the fastener member on each leg member; and (d) a separate protective shield positioned beneath the full length of the fastener member.

Abstract: A swim mask having a buckle that slides in a curved groove in the mask frame. The buckle has a virtual pivot point that is much farther forward than any prior art swivel mask buckle. In fact, the virtual pivot point could be infinitely in front of the mask if the groove were straight. The embodiment shown has a pivot point that is slightly in front of the mask lens. The preferred embodiment is also extremely simple to manufacture and assemble. It also has a means for being easily locked into any of several positions by the user. It is also aesthetically pleasing and allows easy strap adjustment. The preferred embodiment also has a means to attach to the mask frame such that it is extremely secure and cannot be accidentally detached and it also has only three components per buckle.

Abstract: A low tank of a flush toilet capable of receiving either of clean water and recycling water, wherein two sets of ball taps are fixed into the low tank, two sets of ball valves are connected directly to the inlet sides of the ball taps, and a lever handle is changed from 0 to 90 degree by a changeover lever capable of alternately switching between the two sets of ball valves, whereby the two sets of ball valve shafts are rotated so that the opening and closing operation can be performed simultaneously in the ball valves.

Abstract: A sanitary washing device cleans a nozzle pipe thereof automatically. The sanitary washing device includes a changeover valve supplying a warm water to a nozzle pipe, a nozzle pipe selectively accommodated in a cylinder, and an ejecting outlet provided on the end portion of the nozzle pipe to spray warm water in order to wash a portion of the user sitting on a toilet bowl. The nozzle pipe is retracted in order to be accommodated in the cylinder again when the warm water supply through the changeover valve is stopped. A nozzle pipe washer is positioned to spray washing water onto the nozzle pipe. By controlling the changeover valve, a nozzle pipe washer ejecting outlet sprays the warm water onto the nozzle pipe in accordance with the movement of the nozzle pipe.

Abstract: The overflow system comprises: a plurality of U-shaped support brackets each fixed, by one of its vertical portions, to the outer side of the wall structure of the swimming pool, a plurality of flexible panels anchored to the vertical portions of the brackets so as to form two facing sides, a base formed by a casting of material which can be cast and set, cast in situ between the sides, and an upper spillway profile fixed in a watertight manner between the wall structure and the inner side of the overflow duct.

Abstract: The invention includes a method and apparatus for quieting and insulating a bath during its operation in order to reduce the amount of noise and vibration transmitted to its user. The bath comprises a bath vessel and a pre-molded high density insulation pad secured thereto for insulating the bath vessel from noise, vibration and heat transfer. The pre-molded insulation pad is positioned on the bottom of the bath vessel while the laminate of the bath vessel is still wet so that the pad bonds with the bath vessel as the laminate cures. After the pre-molded insulation pad has bonded to the bath vessel, an upper surface of the bath vessel is leveled with a lower surface of the pre-molded pad so that these upper and lower surfaces are parallel to each other. Further, the pump assembly is positioned away from the bath vessel during installation and operation so that vibrations generated by its pump are not directly transmitted from the pump assembly to the bath vessel.

Abstract: A hydro massage bathtub enclosure is provided with conduits interconnecting air jet holes provided in the sidewalls, end or bottom wall of the bathtub enclosure. One or more curved cavities are disposed below one or more of the air jet holes to create a turbulent air flow in the area of the curved cavity whereby to expel any residual water accumulated in the curved cavity after the water level in the bathtub enclosure has been lowered below the air jet holes with the conduit pressurized by air from the blower to purge the conduit. A water evacuating conduit may also be connected in such cavities for the evacuation of residual water therefrom.

Abstract: Pivotal mattress support comprises a pair of pivotal longitudinal members for replacing conventional wooden slats. The terminal ends of each longitudinal member includes a thin flange for attachment to the side rails of a conventional bed frame to allow a mattress to rest substantially flush on the cleat of the side rail. In one embodiment an extendable leg provides additional support for the slats. Legs are included with the support and the height of the legs can be adjusted by hand while mounted to the mattress support. The method of use consists of pivoting the longitudinal members of the mattress support to accommodate the particular width of the side rails of a selected bed frame.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bearing element having a base plate fitted on a support, for a seat or bed system, with a bearing plate to hold upholstery. The invention seeks to produce a bearing element whose range of spring is approximately equal to the total height, and which is easy to produce. To this end, at least two spring elements serving as bearing arms (12, 22) are fitted between the base plate (11, 21) and the bearing plate (15, 25). These spring elements, configured like leaf springs, are directed outwards from the base plate (11, 21). Their outer ends join the hearing plate (15, 25). In another version of the invention, a spring body (35, 35′) is fitted between the base and bearing plate. The spring body head (35.2) and foot (35.1), like the bearing plate and base plate, have corresponding locking parts, so that the bearing plate can also be removably placed on the spring body (15, 15′) and on the base plate (21).

Abstract: A patient transport device is disclosed which includes a seat member, a back member, a leg supporting member, and a head supporting member. The device may be unfolded to a position wherein the patient may be transferred thereon in a supine position. The back member may be selectively adjustably positioned with respect to the seat member so that the patient may be transferred thereon in a sitting position with either the patient's legs hanging downwardly from the seat member or extending outwardly therefrom in a horizontal position. Various carrying straps are provided on the device to enable the patient to be easily transported in either the supine position or in a seated position. Restraining straps are also provided.

Each rotatable brush assembly includes a wheel, with radially projecting bristles, configured to rotate about an axis which is roughly parallel to a plane of contact with the teeth. The axis of rotation is inclined relative to a primary direction of insertion of the toothbrush, corresponding to an extensional direction of the handle, by an angle of between about 15° and about 75°, and preferably closer to 45°.

Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for performing maintenance procedures such as washing, cleaning, deicing, and painting to an aircraft. The apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention preferably has a mobile base having a plurality of wheel members for allowing the mobile base to travel along surfaces and a plurality of support surface registering members for registering the mobile base to a support surface to inhibit movement of the plurality of wheel members. The apparatus also preferably has a boom member having a proximal end portion rotatably mounted to the mobile base and being movable between a retracted position and an extended position and an aircraft maintenance tool rotatably connected to a distal end portion of the boom member.

Abstract: A mop having a self-contained wringer includes a handle, a sleeve frictionally movably disposed on the handle such that the sleeve is self supporting along a number of positions of the mop handle, a retainer member connected to an end of the handle and having a retaining surface, a mop head material having one end connected to the retaining surface of the retainer member, a twistable rubber-like generally fluted housing portion having a first end connected to the sleeve and a second end extending outwardly therefrom creating a mop head receiving surface area between a portion of the handle and an inner surface of the housing. The housing is movable along the handle by way of the sleeve in a manner to removably enclose the mop head material and enable squeezing of the mop head material by virtue of its rubber-like characteristic wherein it can twist over itself to selectively reduce the receiving surface area.

Abstract: An ultra-thin folding bristle hairbrush, capable of being operated with one hand, suitable for back-pocket storage. A base enclosure comprising a plurality of spaced transverse bristle bars, each bristle bar pivotally mounted within the base enclosure. At one end, the base enclosure is pivotally attached to a handle member. A kinematical linkage assembly adjoins the handle with the plurality of bristle bars whereby the opening and closing motion of the handle results in a synchronized articulation of the bristles from a stowed, generally horizontal, position, to a generally vertical position of use. The linkage lends itself to contouring the base enclosure and handle for ergonomic consideration such as back-pocket storage. The handle can also operate as a cover element. A unique one-handed “switchblade” action can be employed to flip open the brush, installing the bristles into their position of use.

Abstract: The fluid collection system comprises a pan and a blade. The pan incorporates a ramp leading to a sump and the sump has sidewalls for containing fluid therein. One sidewall of the sump includes a spout through which fluid is emptied from the sump. The blade has a scraping edge for use in directing fluid up the ramp and into the sump. A screened cap is also provided which engages over a free end of the spout for straining fluid emptied from the sump through the spout.

A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber. A working roller is arranged in the brush chamber. An air turbine is arranged in the turbine chamber and drives in rotation the working roller. A vacuum air flow enters the brush chamber, flows from the brush chamber through an intake window into the turbine chamber, flows within the turbine chamber through the air turbine, and exits from the turbine chamber to the vacuum connector. The turbine chamber has a chamber bottom with a ramp ascending toward the outlet window in the area where the vacuum airflow exits from the turbine chamber. The ramp is through-shaped and has a groove extending in the flow direction of the vacuum airflow.

The wing has an end (15) which is pivotally mounted to the bowl for rotation relative to the bowl and a spring (17) is received in the bowl, the thrust end (19) of the spring exerting pressure on cam means (20) placed on the wing to move the wing towards a near steady position corresponding to the open or closed hinge position. The spring has a reaction end (21) reacting on the bowl at a rest surface (22) keeping said reaction end (21) oriented in a direction non-parallel to the bowl bottom. Advantageously, the spring reaction end is directed opposite to the bowl bottom and the rest surface (22) is a side wall of the bowl.

Abstract: The invention relates to a door stop for motor vehicle doors which is integrated with a demountable door hinge. The door hinge is comprised of two hinge halves (1, 2) and a hinge pin (3) which is accommodated in hinge half (2) with a running fit and in the other hinge half (1) such that it can be lifted off without turning. The door stop comprises braking or holding means which are radially aligned in relation to the hinge pin axis and which interact with stopping means concentrically arranged in relation to the hinge pin axis. The door stop assembly is primarily accommodated in a door stop housing (12). Said door stop housing is placed, in an axial projection (11) of the hinge axis. The hinge pin is mounted with a running fit in the hinge half (2).

Abstract: In a retractable assist grip in which a grip body rotatably supported on a mount is urged into swing motion from the use position to the retracted position, a locking pin is retained prior to the mounting of the grip body to the mount. With the mount body engaged to the periphery of a mounting hole of an inner panel from the front side thereof, the locking pin is moved opposite to a direction of insertion thereof by the swing motion of the grip body to the use position so that an extension at the distal end of the locking pin is retained at a locking position, thereby holding flexible engaging pieces extending from the back of the mount body in engagement on the periphery of the mounting hole.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for stretch breaking fibers wherein the formation of relatively small (lengths less than 30 microns) fractured fibers is substantially reduced. This reduction is achieved by applying a dampening fluid to the bundle of fibers during stretch breaking to dampen shockwaves generated during the fracturing process. The fractured fiber bundle may be subsequently treated with a sizing material to improve bundle cohesiveness and handling characteristics.

The device communicates with the first opening for introducing the pressurized air stream through the first opening into the space between the cylinder clothing and the cover arrangement to impinge upon the cylinder clothing carrying fiber material thereon. A second opening which is provided in the cover arrangement communicates with the space between the cylinder clothing and the cover arrangement for removing the pressurized air stream, laden with waste material separated from the fiber material.

The main body is adapted for placement over the shaft at a lower portion of the shaft and to be urged up the shaft toward the handle until it reaches the beginning of the handle where the apparatus is retained in position to the device by a pair of dimples that are formed in the main body.

A second pivotal connection is operatively connecting a second tension element to the handle for relative pivotal movement about an axis offset from the first pivotal axis at a location to be overcenter with respect to the first axis when the handle is in a load tightening position. A locking pin has an elongated member with a first eccentric portion located near or on a first end.

Abstract: A frictional cord lock for use in locking one portion of a single length of cord relative to another. A first embodiment includes a cylindrical, barrel-shaped member having a cylindrical wall substantially surrounding a longitudinal axis, has a first cord end fixed in one opening in the cord lock. Second and third tear-drop shaped openings lie along a common axis that forms an angle with the longitudinal axis and receive a second portion of the cord, the first opening lying vertically between said the second and third openings. The cord slides freely in second and third openings when pulled along their common axis but locks when subjected to non-axial forces. The non-axial forces pull the cord into the v-shaped portion of the openings pinching the cord and securing them in place. A second embodiment employs a generally horizontal v-shaped channel to lock the cord in place.
