Abstract: A sensor device (15) for a prosthesis, in particular for a leg prosthesis, is provided for measuring forces acting on the prosthesis, having a ring-shaped outer member (16) of closed construction and an inner member (21, 22) connecting two opposite inner sides (17a, 17b) of the outer member having a sensor element (31) for measuring the force acting in the direction of the connecting axis. The outer member deforms under the action of a bending moment while the inner member (21) feels only the axial force acting in the direction of its connecting axis. By this means measurement of the axial force unaffected by bending moments is possible. Furthermore, the sensor device is able to transmit loads.

Abstract: A thick film resistor strain gauge is applied to a stainless steel shell portion of a spark plug. There are two preferable ways of applying a thick film resistor to the metal shell. In a first embodiment, the thick film resistor may be directly printed on to the shell portion with special screen printing equipment. In a second embodiment, the thick film resistor is printed and applied as a decal to the shell portion. The thick film resistors may be included in a quarter, a half, or a full wheatstone bridge strain gauge circuit. One of two embodiments of an automatic drift compensating circuit is used to determine the change in resistance experienced by the thick film resistors affixed to the spark plug. Either one of the automatic drift compensation circuits output a voltage signal which is proportional to the pressure changes occurring inside the engine cylinder into which the spark plug is threaded.

A controller is operably coupled to the driver interface module, the display, and sensors for sensing predetermined vehicle conditions. The controller shifts the transmission and changes the display if the vehicle sensors indicate that the predetermined vehicle conditions are met, but doesn't shift the transmission if the predetermined vehicle conditions are not met and further it resets the display to the first indicia. By this arrangement, the shifter senses and shifts based on relative position of the DIM and not absolute position. Abstract: A ratchet wrench with a wrench head, a handle and a tray provides compact and easily accessible storage of sockets. The handle defines a chamber in which the tray is stored. The tray has a back side and a stepped slot shaped and sized to retain sets of nested sockets. The tray defines at least one aperture which corresponds with the storage position of a first socket in each set of nested sockets. The aperture provides access to the first socket from the back side of the tray and facilitates dislodging of the first socket. Once the first socket is dislodged, the entire set of nested sockets is easily removed.

Abstract: There is provided a multi-turret lathe with two opposed spindles which is capable of machining a workpiece more effectively. The lathe with two opposed spindles includes: a first spindle (2); a second spindle (4) located opposite to the first spindle on the same axis and movable toward and away from the first spindle; and a set of two tool turrets (8a and 8c) which machines a workpiece cooperating with the first spindle, and another set of two tool turrets (8b and 8d) which machines a workpiece cooperating with the second spindle, and the two tool turrets in each of the sets are disposed opposite to each other about a spindle axis (B). Each of the four tool turrets is mounted on a tool slide which is movable and positionable in the direction of spindle axis and also in the direction perpendicular to the spindle axis. This enables each of the four tool turrets to be movable from a position to machine a workpiece held on one of the spindles and another position to machine a workpiece held on the other spindle.

Abstract: A reciprocal-movement power tool is applied to a cutting device. A movable blade 13 is reciprocally movably provided on a main body. A receiving plate 20 that supports an angle iron 30 to be cut is supported on the main body at a position in front of the movable blade 13. The movable blade is fixed on a front tip of a rod-shaped shuttle screw 12. The shuttle screw 12 moves back and forth in the axial direction within a tubular screw shaft 11. The screw shaft 11 is carved with a female screw portion 11d and is rotated through a joint spindle 9 that is deceleratingly rotated upon rotation of the motor 5 through a deceleration means 8. The shuttle screw 12 has a male screw portion 12b that is threadingly engageable with the female screw portion 11d. Rotation of the screw shaft 11 causes axial movement of the shuttle screw 12 because of the threading engagement between the female screw portion 11d and the male screw portion 12b.
