Patent number: 6543088Abstract: A bottom portion 11a is formed on an external end portion of a support sleeve portion 11 which is located on an external side, and an engagement recess 43 is formed in an inner peripheral surface of a support sleeve portion 21 which is located on an internal side. That end face of the engagement recess 43 which faces the support sleeve portion 11 side serves as an engagement surface 44. An engagement piece 45 is formed on one end portion of a hinge body 3. The engagement piece 45 is elastically deformed such that its distal end portion is displaced radially inward of the hinge body 3, thereby the engagement piece 45 is allowed to extend beyond a bottom surface of a key groove 41. Thereafter, the engagement body 45 is elastically restored such that its distal end portion is displaced radially outward of the hinge body 3, thereby the engagement piece 45 is engaged with the engagement recess 43.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2000Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Sugatsune Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shinichiro Koshikawa

Patent number: 6543124Abstract: A disc drive assembly method for assembling a disc drive having a disc and an actuator with a tab portion disposed at a proximal end and a head on the distal end. The method consisting of rotating the actuator about a central post, contactingly engaging an outer stop. The outer stop comprises a base plate, a post extending upward from the base plate and a cantilevered arm extending outward from the post. The cantilevered arm of the outer stop is displaceable in a rotational direction substantially about the post and deformable in a direction substantially along its longitudinal axis. Patent number: 6543126Abstract: A machine which greatly reduces the labor required for repairing flat roofs on commercial and industrial buildings. Formerly, old roofing material usually had to be removed manually from the roof deck before new material could be installed. Removal of this old material was the most labor intensive part of the job. The present labor-reducing machine not only scrapes off the old roofing from the roof deck but also loads any material so scraped into a cart for removal from the roof. The machine comprises a pair of drive wheels, a flat conveyor belt, and a chisel-like front member. To begin the removal process, the latter is first wedged between the old roofing material and the roof deck; and then the drive wheels are used to push the chisel-like front member, when it so wedged, forward. The flat belt conveyor is mounted in close proximity to the front member so that as the old roofing material is being dislodged, it is directed onto the belt.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2000Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Inventor: H. Patent number: 6543129Abstract: The present invention provides a method of forming a solder ball on a portion, e.g., one end, of a contact. In one exemplary embodiment, the contact is a terminal pin which is intended for use in an electrical connector and more particularly, for use in a solder ball grid array (SBGA) connector. Generally and according to one embodiment, the method includes providing the contact along with a solder-holding clip having a body with an opening. The body has a solder-holding conformation adjacent the opening and a solder mass is held by the conformation. The contact is then positioned proximate to the body opening and heat is applied to the solder mass causing the solder to reflow so that the solder flows into a spherical shape. This results in a solder ball being formed on the portion of the contact. Subsequent to forming the solder ball, the solder-holding clip is separated from the contact leaving a contact with a solder ball affixed thereto.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Teka Interconnections Systems, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Cachina, Jack Seidler, James R. Patent number: 6543132Abstract: The present invention provides methods of forming mud motors. In one method, rollers are urgingly stroked against a tubular member having a mandrel therein that has an outer profile which is the inverse of the desired profile of the stator. In another method, rollers are urged and rotated radially on the tubular member with the mandrel disposed in the tubular member. In yet another method, dies are pressed against the tubular member having a mandrel with a desired outer profile. In another method, a molten metal is deposited over a mandrel with an outer lobed surface that is substantially the inverse of the desired inner profile of the stator housing. The mandrel is then removed, leaving a metallic longitudinal member having an inner profile defined by the outer profile of the mandrel. In each of these methods, the inner surface of the resulting member has the profile defined by the outer profile of the mandrel.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1998Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Volker Krueger, Thorsten Regener, Markus Walterskoetter

Patent number: 6543133Abstract: A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine is provided. The fuel injector includes a housing and an armature/needle assembly reciprocally mounted in the housing. The armature/needle assembly includes an armature having an armature end and a longitudinal armature channel extending therethrough and a needle having a longitudinal needle axis and a first needle end inserted in the armature channel. The first needle end is fixedly connected to the armature end. The assembly also includes at least one flow channel between the armature and the needle. The fuel injector further includes a valve seat located downstream of the needle. The needle is selectively engageable and disengageable with the valve seat to preclude fuel flow through an opening in the valve seat and to allow fuel flow through the opening in the valve seat, respectively. A method of forming the armature/needle assembly is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2002Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Siemens Automotive CorporationInventor: Angelo D'Arrigo

Patent number: 6543134Abstract: A method is disclosed for reconditioning blades for turbo-machinery that have a material deficiency resulting from wear and tear, damage, or dimensions that are smaller than specified, in which material is removed, at least from parts of the blade, and is replaced with new material. The actual geometry of the blade is measured at certain specific points and is stored. The desired geometry, or the desired profile in its desired position, is determined via data processing technology. The desired geometry is compared with the actual geometry, and in cases of significant deviations in position, is adjusted to coincide with the actual geometry. The adjusted desired geometry is mathematically reduced by a defined amount of coating to be removed. The calculated net geometry is actually produced via the removal of material, at least over part of the blade, and new material is applied to the finished net geometry, until the desired profile is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: MTU Aero Engines GmbHInventor: Reinhold Meier

Patent number: 6543135Abstract: A regeneratively coolable nozzle for a rocket engine is formed by winding a tubular material (6) onto a winding mandrel to produce a helical composite structure (5), through which a coolant can flow during operation of the nozzle. The spiral composite structure (5) is fixed temporarily and the fixed composite structure (5) is removed from the winding mandrel. Then an inner heat resistant, load bearing layer (9) is applied to the radially inner hot-gas facing surface (H) of the fixed composite structure (5). The present nozzle is lightweight and withstands a high coolant pressure.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Astrium GmbHInventor: Joachim Kretschmer

Patent number: 6543137Abstract: A method of assembling a valve module of a fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines is described. The fuel injector includes an electromagnetic actuating element having a magnet coil, an internal pole, an external magnetic circuit part and a movable valve closing body which works together with a valve seat assigned to a valve seating body. The valve seating body and the internal pole are arranged in an internal opening in a thin-walled valve sleeve, and the magnet coil and the external magnetic circuit part are arranged on the outer periphery of the valve sleeve. First, the magnetic circuit part is pushed onto the valve sleeve, then the valve seating body is pressed into the internal opening in the valve sleeve, so that a fixed connection between the valve sleeve and the magnetic circuit part is achieved by simply pressing the valve seating body into position.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2000Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Klaus Noller, Hans Weidler
