Abstract: A cover is provided, preferably for securing valves, propellers, door knobs and the like. The cover entails a hinged plate having two sections. Each section contains an indentation which, when the sections are closed, forms an aperture. A pair of arms may depend from each section in alignment with the indentations. When the sections are closed, the arms will form a hollow column in alignment with the aperture. The hollow column will also preferably contain a constriction, preferably formed by a pair of lips extending inwardly from each arm. The sections will also contain sidewalls rising from the sections opposite the hollow column if it is present. A cap is provided which will fit over the sidewalls. A tongue and groove mechanism may be provided to allow the cap to engage the sidewalls and the sections to which they are attached. A plurality of locking apertures may also be provided in the sections and the cap so that the cover may be locked with a padlock.

Abstract: Wood fibers (2) which are used in the production of fiberboards are supplied from a metering device (1) through a feed chute (7) to a disintegration roller (12) comprising a plurality of pins (13) on its surface. The disintegration roller (12) rotates at high speed, in such a way that the pins (13) deflect the fibers (6) hitting the disintegration roller (12). The fibers are entrained (6) by the pins (13) and fed through a chute section (17) formed by a partial section (15) of the roller periphery and a wall (16) lying opposite the latter, to an outlet orifice (18) of the chute section (17). Either a forming belt (19) of a forming machine is located beneath the outlet orifice (18), or the fibers (6) pass the outlet orifice (18) into the air duct of an air fiber sifter. The disintegration roller (12) disintegrates irregularities in a fiber stream (6), e.g. fiber bundles, or drops of condensed water.

One or two selected lateral walls or a selected surface of the seat is installed with at least one though hole. A front lateral wall and a rear lateral wall are formed with at least one tip post. Thus, when the zipper of the trunk or bag is closed, the retainer will be combined so that the zipper pieces pass through the though hole of the seat to be in a locking condition. The tip posts are inserted into the two lateral material strips of the zipper; and therefore, the structure is inseparable. When the retainer is destroyed by others, the user may know that the trunk (or bag) has been intruded.

The array is particularly useful in ascertaining the reference location of a swiveling coordinate measuring arm or other such spatial measuring device. A three-dimensional reference point array can be constructed from a similarly distributed matrix of reference points arranged in orthogonally-oriented layers of rows and columns. Positioning the probe of the measuring device over three closely located reference points is sufficient to automatically load the exact coordinates of the measuring device location into an associated data processing system.

Abstract: A special tape (22) for measuring blocks used in the construction of wood structures includes two special scales. A first scale has marks (32) spaced at 14½ inch intervals for making blocks for studs, and a second scale has marks (34) spaced at 22½ inch intervals for making blocks for rafters. The tape (22) is longitudinally placed along a two-by board (500) and marks (36) made on the two-by board (500) at the desired intervals of 14½ or 22½ inches. The two-by board (500) is then cut at the marks (36) to create the blocks, which are then placed between the studs or rafters.

Abstract: An internal lacing system wherein a plurality of lace guides having rotatable rollers are strategically positioned throughout a shoe to facilitate the securing of the foot within the shoe. First and second elongated laces are internally channeled through the respective lace guides so as to enable a user to tighten the shoe by pulling on exposed second ends of the first and second laces thereby allowing the laces to roll along each respective roller positioned within each lace guide. Because the first ends of the first and second laces are fixed, the pulling on the second ends of the first and second laces will result in a reciprocating force about each lace guide thus securely tightening the shoe around the user's foot.

Abstract: In a structure of an engine compartment in a work machine such as a tractor, a bulldozer, a hydraulic excavator, a wheel loader, the air taken through vents, which are formed on side covers and a hood covering the engine compartment, is supplied directly to a radiator via ducts which are provided on the side of the side covers and the side of the hood respectively. The ducts cover the vents, thereby preventing noise within the engine compartment from escaping to the outside. Therefore it is possible to increase a cooling efficiency of the radiator by supplying the outside air, which does not take up the heat of an engine, directly to the radiator, as well as to reduce the engine sound and prevent the engine noise from escaping.

The plow can include a moldboard having a movable cutting edge and an adjustable bias trip mechanism having a biasing member preferably in the form of a spring. The adjustable trip mechanism can be arranged with the cutting edge of the moldboard to urge the cutting edge to a plowing position. The spring can be cooperatively arranged with a retainer, a pin for example, at one or more retaining positions to impart a preload biasing force upon the spring that varies according to the retaining position selected. The preload biasing force can act as a trip resistance force which must be overcome before the cutting edge moves. A lever tool can be provided for adjusting the spring.

Abstract: A pressure plate extractor for testing of soils and other porous solids has a pressure chamber defined by pressure chamber sidewalls resting above a pressure chamber base. A drain plate is situated on the pressure chamber base with its bounding edge surrounded by a seal and situated inwardly from the pressure chamber sidewalls, which rest atop the seal. When the pressure chamber sidewalls are urged towards the pressure chamber base, thereby compressing the seal and preventing air from passing between the pressure chamber sidewalls and pressure chamber base, the seal laterally expands to firmly engage the bounding edge of the drain plate, thereby preventing air from passing between the pressure chamber sidewalls and the drain plate. A substantially leak-free pressure chamber results, with low probability of drain plate failure because the pressure chamber sidewalls do not bear directly upon it.

Abstract: A chip plow conveyor for conveying abrasive scrap includes an elongated trough having a flat bottom and sides, and a chip-motivating pusher bar. The pusher bar moves longitudinally and floats laterally as the pusher bar reciprocates to move scrap along the trough. Lateral floating of the pusher bar helps overcome binding caused by scrap material wedging between the pusher bar and one of the sides, but wedging still causes the pusher bar to engage the sides with substantial force. The pusher bar includes a bearing component with beveled front corners on a leading end of the pusher bar, with the inclined ramps providing angled engagement with the sides and characteristically providing a longitudinally-angled corner surface arrangement that cannot be sharpened into a knife-simulating edge even after substantial wear against the flat bottom and the sides of the trough.

Abstract: A bucket assembly is provided with a kit that includes a base plate for permanent connection to a lower part of the bucket, and sacrificial, impermanent replaceable wear edge segments for the forward lip and corner leading edges of an excavator or loader bucket. These segments form a set of “bolt on” cast wear members and wing wear segments. The base plate and wear plates are drilled and machined to accommodate the precision fitting bolting on of the replaceable lips and cast wing segments. The cast lip segments are of both left and right hand configurations and come in a variety of widths that, in combination, may tend to fit a large number of different commercially available bucket sizes. The lip top and bottom faces are shaped in a profile that may tend to result in relatively uniform wear and a reduction in friction when digging into various materials.
