  • Patent number: 6572350
Abstract: A package-type screw compressor includes a low-pressure stage state compressor and a high-pressure stage compressor. Motive power is transmitted from an electric motor to the two compressors via a speed increaser. The discharge gas, compressed and heated to a high temperature by the low-pressure stage compressor, is cooled by an intercooler. The discharge gas, compressed and heated to a high temperature by the high-pressure stage compressor, is cooled by an aftercooler. A casing of the intercooler and that of the aftercooler are formed integrally with a speed increaser casing, reducing the number of component parts. A cooler portion, formed by the intercooler and the aftercooler, is spaced from the speed increaser casing, thereby preventing heat, produced by the compressed air, from being transmitted to the speed increaser casing.

  • Patent number: 6572351
Abstract: The invention concerns a vacuum pump consisting in the assembly of two stator half-shells (101, 102) and two directly mounted end parts (31, 32) with an interposed single-piece continuous pressure seal (33). The pressure seal (33) comprises two annular end parts (34, 35) generally parallel to each other and connected by two side-members (36, 37) which are generally perpendicular thereto. Thus, the number of components to be assembled to produce an multistage dry vacuum pump is reduced, while providing satisfactory impermeability to outside atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6572360
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method pertaining the food patty production. The present invention allows high output production of food product patties at reduced machine operating speeds. This is accomplished by effectively utilizing a mold plate with multiple rows of patty cavities. Thus, more patties can be molded at slower operating speeds. This aspect of the present invention reduces normal wear and tear on machines resulting in high efficiency output. The present invention operated at reciprocating frequencies lower than those used in machines known in the industry can potentially increase output by two-fold, or more. The present invention is also designed to produce patties of uniform size, weight and texture thereby promoting consistent cooking and food safety. This is accomplished by a (1) specified operation timing sequence and (2) custom designed fill slots which serve as a conduit between a food product source and a patty cavity.

  • Patent number: 6572364
Abstract: A conventional watchdog timer circuit is arranged to judge a microcomputer to be normal as long as a pulse signal is being outputted from the microcomputer. Therefore, an abnormal condition cannot be detected when an operating frequency of the microcomputer lowers, for example. As a solution, the watchdog timer circuit is provided with a function for detecting the frequency. If the frequency of the pulse signal deviates from a predetermined frequency range, a reset signal is outputted indicating that the microcomputer is abnormal, even if the pulse signal is being outputted. A solenoid-operated gate valve is thereby closed to stop the supply of gas to a gas burner.

  • Patent number: 6572365
Abstract: An automatic candle snuffer has a heat resistant housing with a bottom end that is received and closed by a candle holder. The housing top end is open when a hinged lid is open and closed when the lid is closed. A digital timer is attached to the housing and has a fixed part of the hinge attached for selectively magnetizing and demagnetizing. The hinge also has a magnetic portion attached to the lid, such that the lid is held open by the magnetic coupling of the fixed part of the hinge and the magnetic hinge portion attached to the lid. The user selects a time for the candle to be snuffed, and the timer demagnetizes the fixed part of the hinge, whereupon the magnetic coupling is broken and gravity causes the lid to close on the housing.

  • Patent number: 6572367
Abstract: A combustion chamber for a chiller includes a burner and igniter which are maintained in the horizontal position. The horizontal positioning is implemented by a steel casting, which includes a thick flange portion. The thick flange portion is between the combustion chamber and the outside surface, therefore keeping the outside surface cooler. The steel casting has a mitered extension of the combustion chamber, which allows for more efficient heat transfer. By orienting the burner and igniter in the steel casting in the horizontal position, one eliminates prior art ceramic annular cooling devices. The horizontal orientation enables the overall height of the generator to be decreased and also allows for easy access during installation and maintenance of the burner and igniter.

  • Patent number: 6572372
Abstract: Traditional orthodontic treatment often involves the use of basic repositioning devices, such as braces, and the use of supplementary devices, components or accessories to achieve desired end results. Such components may be mounted on fixed, non-removable devices or they may be part of a removable appliance typically worn prior to the application of the fixed devices. As with traditional treatment, it may be desired to utilize similar components when repositioning teeth with removable elastic repositioning appliances. Due to the nature of elastic appliances, such components may take a variety of forms ranging from readily available traditional accessories to specially created devices. Thus, traditional components may be mounted on or embedded in an elastic appliance, or the appliance may be formed to provide similar components. Likewise, the appliance may be modified to provide additional features for specific orthodontic treatments.

Abstract: The present invention provides a flexible circuit connector for electrically coupling IC devices to one another in a stacked configuration. Each IC device includes: (1) a package having top, bottom, and peripheral sides; and (2) external leads that extend out from at least one of the peripheral sides. In one embodiment, the flexible circuit connector comprises a plurality of discrete conductors that are adapted to be mounted between the upper side of a first package and the lower side of a second package. The flexible circuit connector also includes distal ends that extend from the conductors. The distal ends are adapted to be electrically connected to external leads from the first and second packages to interconnect with one another predetermined, separate groups of the external leads. In this manner, individual devices within a stack module can be individually accessed from traces on a circuit card.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a socket for testing an integrated circuit utilizing an improved contact pin structure. In the test socket of the present invention, the length of the electrical path between the leads of tested IC and terminals of PCB is minimized and the contact pin may maintain wiping action in a wide area of contact portions. Further, as the contact pin may accommodate the pressure applied by the IC leads with great elasticity and provides sufficient floating suspension when the pressure is removed, the invention may efficiently prevent damages to the leads of IC being tested and extend the life of the contact pin.

Abstract: A connector has male and female housings (10, 20). A resilient member (50) is mounted in the female housing (20) for movement along the connecting direction of the housings (10, 20), and is biased forwardly toward the male housing (10) by springs (70) in the female housing (20). A front end (10a) of the male housing (10) pushes the resilient member (50) rearwardly during a connecting operation and resiliently compresses the springs (70). A lock arm (28) on the male housing (10) locks the housings (10, 20) together in properly connected state. However, the springs (70) expand resiliently to separate the housings (10, 20) if the correcting operation is interrupted prematurely. The female housing (20) has a cover (40) that can be moved rearwardly to deflect the lock arm (28) and to separate the housings (10, 20).
