Patent number: 6604327Abstract: A retractable trackless spa enclosure includes at least two sections, a first section being slightly smaller than a second section. The first section may be retracted into the second section in reverse telescoping fashion. Both sections are mounted on wheels so that the spa may be more easily moved. Both sections of the enclosure may also include a sliding door for access/egress. In addition, the front end panel of the front section is pivotally mounted on rollers that move within a track. The pivotal mounting allows the front end panel to be rotated in its frame, so that it can be moved to a position horizontal to the ground, thereby providing sufficient clearance for the enclosure to pass over the spa. When the enclosure is retracted, the front end panel can be moved to a position adjacent the end wall of the rear section, so that an open-ended alcove is formed. The frame of the structure is formed from extruded aluminum, and is therefore very lightweight.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Ameracover Pool Enclosures, Inc.Inventor: Jim Reville

Patent number: 6604369Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling operation of a kimchi storage device. A compressor operates immediately if the condition to operate the compressor is met, and a heater operates after a predetermined time delay if the condition to operate the heater has been met, whereby the variation in the temperature of a storage chamber caused by the immediate sensing of low temperature and the operation of the heater thereby can be reduced, so the flavor and freshness of the kimchi can be enhanced.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2002Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Mando Climate Control CorporationInventor: Wan-suck Seo

Patent number: 6604370Abstract: A modular semiconductor chip cooling system having a readily openable enclosure defining a chamber configured to hold a printed circuit board carrying components to be cooled. The enclosure can include a reservoir, a condenser and a pump. Sprayers within the chamber are set in an array to spray a target area, and a controller controls which sprayers are activated based on information delineating the locations of the components to be cooled. The enclosure can be readily removed from a computer system through a quick release connection. The computer system can include a condenser and pump to operate all its modular cooling systems, removing the condensing function from the individual modules.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Cullen E. Patent number: 6604371Abstract: An oil holding tank (40) is communicated to the case (10c) of the compressor (10). Part of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor (10) is introduced into the oil holding tank (40) so that the lubrication oil (L) is allowed to flow out from the oil holding tank (40) and the lubrication oil (L) which flows out is allowed to return to the case (10c). The presence of the lubrication oil (L) is detected from a comparison between the temperature (TK1) of the refrigerant introduced from the compressor (10) to the oil holding tank (40) and the temperature (TK2) of the lubrication oil (4) flowing out from the oil holding tank (40). On the basis of the result of the detection, it is judged whether or not the amount of the lubrication oil (L) in the case (10c) is appropriate.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Toshiba Carrier CorporationInventor: Kiyotaka Ueno

Patent number: 6604374Abstract: In a cooling apparatus, air within a room is first introduced into a radiator-type adsorber (1), where moisture contained in the air is adsorbed by A-type silica gel. The resulting low-humidity air is subsequently introduced into a desorption cooler (5), where moisture is desorbed from B-type silica gel, thereby humidifying and cooling the air. The resulting low-temperature air is then used for cooling. When a cooling capacity of the cooling apparatus is lowered, air from a heat source is introduced into the radiator-type adsorber (1), where the moisture is desorbed from the A-type silica gel, thereby recovering the adsorbability thereof. The high-humidity air resulting from the desorption of the moisture is subsequently introduced into the desorption cooler (5), where the moisture contained in the air is adsorbed by the B-type silica gel, thereby recovering the desorption cooling capacity thereof.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Fuji Silysia Chemical Ltd.Inventors: Mutsuhiro Ito, Tatsuya Asano, Masanobu Hasatani, Fujio Watanabe
