Patent number: 6616451Abstract: A cleaning and whitening system for teeth having an electromagnetic radiation emitting toothbrush and a dentifrice with a photosensitive agent is disclosed. The toothbrush has a cleaning surface, such as bristles. The toothbrush is also adapted to direct electromagnetic radiation toward the cleaning surface. The electromagnetic radiation may be monochromatic or polychromatic. Further, the electromagnetic radiation may be substantially free of ultraviolet radiation. Additionally, the electromagnetic radiation may consist essentially of wavelengths within a range of 300 to 750 nanometers. The photosensitive agent is dispersed throughout the dentifrice. The dentifrice transmits the electromagnetic radiation through a varying thickness disposed over a target surface during use of the system. As a result, a significant portion of the photosensitive agent reacts, resulting in whitening stains, removing and/or disclosing undesired substances, and/or foaming.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: BioLase Technology, Inc.Inventors: Ioana M. Patent number: 6616497Abstract: A method of manufacturing a carbon nanotube field emitter for field emission displays by electrophoresis is disclosed. The method of manufacturing involves: first, loading an electrode plate and the field emitter substrate, which are spaced apart from one another, into an electrophoresis bath containing a carbon nanotube suspension for the electrophoresis; second, applying a predetermined bias voltage from a power supply between the electrode plate and the cathodes of the field emitter substrate to deposit, at room temperature, carbon nanotube particles on the surface of the electrodes exposed through the holes of the dielectric film; and third, drawing the field emitter substrate, on which the carbon nanotube particles have been deposited, out of the electrophoresis bath, and heating the field emitter substrate with carbon nanotube tips at a predetermined temperature. An efficient low-temperature process, incorporating low cost carbon nanotube particles, provides for a lower manufacturing cost.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Samsung SDI Co., Ltd.Inventors: Won-bong Choi, Hoon-young Kim, Deuk-seok Chung, Jung-ho Kang

Patent number: 6616501Abstract: The present invention is a trim adjustment mechanism to balance a toy vehicle. One vehicle has a platform supporting two wheels in line along a central longitudinal vertical plane through the platform. The trim adjustment mechanism has a weight holder slideably supported by the platform to move transversely to the central vertical plane. A weight member is engaged with the weight holder for slideable movement with the weight holder. An adjustment lever has a first end operably coupled with the weight holder. The adjustment lever is pivotable about the first end such that rotation of the adjustment lever causes sliding side-to-side movement of the weight member, whereby a user can effectuate side-to-side movement of the weight member within the vehicle with the adjustment lever in order to balance the vehicle and enhance the stability of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2002Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Mattel, Inc.Inventor: Robert P.
